The staff was wonderful, and we very much enjoyed dining in the restaurant and lounge. Great location, right on the harbor.
The layout was a bit confusing, and the hotel has no elevator, causing a bit of difficulty for my elderly mother.
Staff, food and comfort good.
That there were no lifts in the building and stairs and corridors very small and difficult when carrying luggage etc.
Staff were outstanding on reception, best I've ever encountered!
No bad points!
Liked the Room with a Sea View.. Liked the way our room had been heated for us before we arrived,. The food was very good and the waiter/bar-staff were very attentive. It had a nice atmosphere in the bar and dining room. Best night sleep i have had for quite a while, very relaxing..In the Morning we had a lovely breakfast again ,waiting staff were very attentive. We will definitely return to the Salty Dog in the near future .
Friendly, helpful staff, massive breakfast included and good value 2-course evening meal. Good location.
Attic bedroom meant lots of stairs (not good for my wife's replaced knee). Decor and decoration state of room was not consistent with modern boutique character of hotel. Default position was for rooms (and particularly stairwell) to be heavily overheated.
Lovely helpful staff Great food Lively bar and restaurant
Uncomfortable bed Tired bathroom
I like that it's not a big-name brand hotel. It has its own character and feel to it. The staff were excellent and very friendly. I liked the place.
Great staff in restaurant!!!!!
The location The staff The view The food
The decor of the room was a little disapointing more of a B&B standard but the view and the bed made up for the decor would not put me off going back for a return visit.
Food excellent but bedrooms need bringing into this century
Upstairs decor and overpriced for old facilities compared to other accommodation
Noisey kitchen fan outside of my window, too hot with window closed, too noisey with window open. Room 4. Two fairly disturbed nights sleep
great views from our room staff service meals
parking is a lottery, we were lucky and got a space on the kerb near the front door.
food excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Sea view very nice.
Good choice of gin Gorgeous food Very friendly helpful staff Loved the room very comfortable Loved the cookies Loved having the bottled water for guests
The noisey radiator The old bath The paint work was cracked
Decor, location, food, staff, style, comfort
Not the best nights sleep. Bed slightly uncomfortable, little bit noisey
The food was fabulous , staff were so helpful and friendly , the atmosphere was great , overall I will book there again in a heart beat !!
Decorating needed to be done and the TV ‘s in the family room needed attention .
Close to all facilities as promised. Although there was no designated parking got street parking just outside.
The cystren in the toilet took forever to refill. The Wi Fi access was not available. Had to climb too many stairs with 3 off the 4 elderly is was heart attack material.
Staff, food, location was all very good
Was disappointed in the room. Not up to standard on website. Electric fittings ie ceiling light was loose. Also got small electric shock, door handle faulty, were locked in our room and had to ring reception who quickly sent someone to fix and let us out.
Loved lots. Colour scheme and over all appearance and cleanliness. Also galaxy hot chocolate
It's a real shame as the bed looked really nice, but it was probably one of the worst nights sleep I've had in a hotel. I couldn't move my arm without the whole frame creaking. It was so noisy there was no chance to get off to sleep. I'd recommend some strong glue, or ear plugs.
The breakfast is half a 'full english' or 'ulster fry' for a full english you can pay £3 per head more . The bar is nice - but if you eat in the bar at the sofa the table is too high. The sea view is lovely and most of the staff are very very nice and friendly ...
The website shows a lovely white room - wifi throughout - £120 a night inc breakfast ( that's the small cooked - it's £3 a head more for the full breakfast !) - Great value ... we arrived to be faced with laundry bags piled up against the fire escape -outside our door ( Pics below ) then the room painted a dirty brown - sloping floors and ceilings and no wifi - we complained and were offered a code for a WiFi - that doesn't exist in Room 15 - and a bottle of wine - I booked a white room clean and shiny - not this hovel . No amount of wine would compensate ! The restaurant was fully booked and we ate in the bar - the food was expensive and to be fair - not great -one meal was taken off the bill because it was so late being served ( 40 mins after everyone else ) and not great - we wanted food - together - not a discount - you get the routine - we ate elsewhere for the rest of the four days - breakfast was ok - half a cooked breakfast inc ( ? ) the eggs Benedict is what you should recommend to someone you hate - the service was either very good ( Aaron ) or awful - a lady who hates her job slamming bowls down with a hiss - we are busy - on the last night our sheets remained unchanged - aggghhhh. Never again . We told the hotel how unhappy we were and were told the owner is the Head of some business organisation - Oh Dear ...
Spacious room with panoramic view. Friendly atmosphere good food and good crack.
Nothing of any significance.
Very relived to find a hotel that catered for dogs and liked them. Treats were always at hand and available to buy. Great walking close by if you have a hound. Will be using again.
The attitude was impeccable and i felt they displayed a genuine we can never do enough to make your stay more memorable. Service and attitude i have not seen in a long time!!
Room got a bit hot and i didnt know how to cool it down but i didnt ask anyone either. I am sure it would not have been a problem at all
We enjoyed the beautiful view from our room at number 11also the delicious breakfast that was severed to us by the wonderful and friendly staff could not of asked for better
There was nothing that we didn't like :))
Everything. Bedroom, food, fantastic staff. Looking forward to returning.
