Salutation Hotel  

We liked the hotel, very comfortable , good food, friendly staff,and pet friendly we had no problems, would recommend.

The room was excellent and the staff could not be more helpful or attentive, the decor is nice and the meals were beautiful, we booked again for another week-end before we even left the hotel and we will be making further bookings for later in the year and for next year. Great value for your money.

Location excellent but no hotel car park which is always a pain that you find a way round, the evening meal was very good and value for money and I really enjoyed my breakfast. All of the staff very friendly and helpful.

Very spacious single room

I wished I hadn't had to go hunting through cupboards for the tea tray; and I then had no choice but to place it on the floor to plug it in.I would have liked an extra blanket in the room - I had to phone about 3 times before one was brought.

We booked into the "Sally" due to it's location in the centre and ease of access from main routes, the cost was also a factor. As a youngster I had passed by the hotel many times but never had the need of it's facilities, with an exterior that always intrigued, the lobby and bars are most welcoming and comfortable. There were functions on both nights we stayed but we had undisturbed slumber on both. The food was excellent and no skimpy portions either.

The location of the hotel. The excellent choice and quality of the breakfast. The friendly and helpful staff.

It is central, only a short walk from the Shops. The Hotel is very old, but it is very well maintained and has a warm friendly atmosphere.. The bedrooms are very well equipped, it was a cold wet evening when we stayed there but the room was lovely and warm. An excellent breakfast was served and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Location and the breakfast which was 10/10 perfect with special attention to keeping the food warm, and the courteous and friendly staff.

The shower took a good while to produce hot water. Antiquated 4 channel TVs with confusing controls. How about Freeview? Everyone else has it!

Manager was very helpful as were reception staff. Superb location . Interesting old building.

Grossly overpriced. Menu/food quality very poor for price. Waiting bar staff were abrubt, and verged on rudeness.

Lack of a car park becomes expensive, even for a 24hour stay.

Very relaxed, atmospheric and comfortable. Staff are great, breakfast is phenomenal and the dining room staff are particularly good the location could not be better.
