The hotel has character and the attentive and courteous staff make one feel welcome, without being over fussy. The food was good and it is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay (my second visit), ideally situated in the heart of the town and good value for money. The town centre location means that there is no on site parking, though there is a reasonably priced public car park located close by. |

Helpfullness of staff. The breakfast was great, lot of variety. View from restaurant window was wonderful, including some original glass in the window. 1. The bathroom radiator wasn't working, but I reported it to staff when I left and was assured it would be repaired. 2. Room was cold but staff arranged a last minute swop for me when I arrived late around 9pm, because I wanted wifi and it wasn't available in room allocated. |

The reception staff were very friendly and knowledgable, as were the staff in the dining room. We had a very noisy room. There was a wedding on and we seemed to be above the band, which wasn't too bad. It was the band packing up and talking and shouting to staff that was frustrating. |

Breakfast was excellent, large range of choice. Staff in bar very friendly and food was good. Room was cold. Asked could leave bags on day of depart behind reception or some where safe and when we came back few hours later bags where sitting at other side of reception and anyone could of lifted them as knowone was at front of reception when we returned. |

Location was excellent. It's a bit "tired" looking. Rooms etc could do with being refurbished. I'm sure that would encouraged more people to stay. |

The staff were excellent, approachable and willing to help No Car park which was not stated otherwise I'd have stayed elsewhere, Poor lift service, the decor was in need of attention. The Shower was also poor I aasume most of these faults lay in the age of the building. |

central to all shops etc, also the old fashoned values of the hotel, very relaxing stay, the wife was in her glory shopping. The only let down at the hotel was the street noise at night, there was no double glazing and we never got a good sleep for the three nights. |
