Breakfast was ok
The room was like going back to the 80's, very dark and dated. Reception area is not at all welcoming. Breakfast time between 8-9 is too limited
very central to all amenities, breakfast was delicious and swiftly. served
lack of hot water from wash hand basin, had to boil kettle to shave(room 16) however shower was electric and plentiful supply of hot water
Location was perfect very clean hotel good breakfast price good
GOOD LOCATION, GOOD BREAKFAST, FRIENDLY STAFF.
ROOM WAS COLD AT NIGHT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SUMMER, AND CENTRAL HEATING WAS NOT TURNED ON
It was good walking distance of the train station. Plenty of shops and places to eat nearby.
Didn't realize it was opposite a nightclub. Some drunken guests returning were quite noisy. But that is not the fault of the hotel
Comfortable room, very near the center of town
Room quite small
Fabulous location in the centre of the town. Quiet rooms. All round great place to stay.
Bed was comfortable. Owner was friendly and helpful
Breakfast could of been a bit better, quantities were ok, just could of done with some beans for moisture. Also it was only instant coffee. Couldn't get the wi fi on the top floor
Location and cleanliness were excellent
Not all rooms are in the main house and if this is prefered, make sure you state when booking.
Parking across road and had to pay Breakfast was too oily and eggs were hard
Great location for the centre with cheap car park nearby. Pretty gardens. If the things I don't like are addressed then its an ok place to stay.
Room dirty and dusty, cracked sink, hair in breakfast, lack of respect for vegetarians - made to feel uncomfortable about it. We didn't realise we would not be in the main hotel. Noisy at night when people return.
Hated this place
Were greeted with ' Well you've finally decided to show up. Where have you been. I'm tired.' This after a full day of traveling and not being able to find the place due to roadworks. No on site parking despite advertising parking available. Parking is a public car park around the corner. Room tiny and basic.
excellent hospitality great breakfast, very good facilities close by either side of the river what I did like far out ways the things I did not like
car park fees and through no fault of the hotel road works going on and the one way system
Very happy with the accommodation and food.
We were taken to our room, where we unpacked. Then we were told that we had been put into a more expensive room by mistake and told that we could move to the one that we should have been given or pay extra. Having relaxed we had to accept the extra cost. The owner did not seem very happy to be there and during our breakfast he was clashing chairs cutlery, plates, etc. around with no concern for any of his guests.
The Owner was very friendly and the location of the hotel was great - within easy reach of the town centre. The beds were very comfy and the tea and coffee supply is the biggest I have ever had in a hotel! Stayed in one of the rooms at the back of the main building and was nice and quiet even though there was a pub across the road at the front of the hotel. Unfortunately didn't get to sample the breakfast as had to catch an early train.
The room smelt quite heavily of dogs and the bathroom floor could have been cleaner but everything else was fine
very handy for centre of town ,lovely garden ,good value .
Within walking dustance to centre of town.
Having to park the car in a public carpark and having to pay. very small hand basin. Room bed collapsed on one side.
Liked everything about the place I was in charge of booking the hotel for a golf weekend away for 4 of us and the others all said job well done for picking this hotel Rooms were spot on Breakfast was just big enough And location was great I'd recommend this hotel to anyone
Wonderful Indian restaurant just next door. Mostly O.K. may stay here again, if I can book a room in the annex.
Not much to dislike: room was probably not the best in the hotel, but they were full, and I was last to book. View from room was a brick wall.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. We were made to feel at home. Hotel ideal for town and river walks. A clean and welcoming hotel. We would definitely recommend.
Room cold,dim lighting.
Central and staff pleasant
great location , friendly staff
1960's town planning has left Shrewsbury with some dramatic concrete eyesores. There are lots of pretty streets and great parks but the town centre has some awful pieces of municipal modernism.
