Very good,

Warm, friendly, and informal, Sandford House provides a homey, tasteful environment with high standards in food and cleanliness. Secure, off-street parking is available next to the hotel. The light rooms at the Sandford feature seating areas and 22-inch flat-screen TVs. Sandford House is located close to the Severn with its fine riverside walks, yet is within a short walk of the center of town. Nearby are many excellent restaurants and cafes of all kinds. Sandford offers accommodations with breakfast included. Hotel Rooms: 19 Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 04:58 from United Kingdom.

Clean, pleasant, convenient. Small but very well equipped room. Very friendly reception. Car parking misleading as I was directed to an open municipal car park a short walk from the hotel. This also meant ensuring I was up and out of the hotel to pay the parking charges by 8 am. Not a hardship but inconvenient and a worry if one doesn't like to leave their pride and joy in a potentially vulnerable area over night.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay ,the hotel was a great place to stay close to the centre, parking a minuite away at only 4 pounds a day, was able to go out and park up again on same ticket, night life ,most pubs had live music ,

It's in a good location. When we arrived, we were shown to our room in the garden annexe, which hadn't been made up! We were moved into the main building. Our new room was far better (I assume it was an upgrade as I would have been peeved to pay the same price for the other room, which was nowhere near as nice). The room was very noisy - the cistern lid lifted up every time you flushed the loo, you could hear everyone else flushing their loos and having showers etc. Plus there was lots of noise from the corridor. Also, the lights wouldn't work when needed first thing on Sunday morning but then switched on randomly and woke me up. Fry up in the morning wasn't very nice and we had to park in a public car park, which meant we had to go downstairs at 8am to put money in the meter. It was booked as nothing else available, but I wouldn't go back!

Lack of hotel parking facility that required one to use the public car park adjacent, at a cost. Also this meant that one had to have lots of loose change during one's stay and also had to ensure that one visited this car park before 0800 hours each day to feed the machine and avoid a penalty.

Hotel was central, room nice and warm especially the bathroom, the towels were soft and warm, breakfast excellent, staff friendly and helpful, car parking was good. Good tea/coffee facilities. The boiled sweets were a nice touch. There were a few marks on the bedding, so we had to turn the bottom sheet and a couple of marks on the duvet but otherwise everything else was good.

Good value hotel with comfortable room great breakfast and a very central location. The owner was friendly and helpful, recommended two local restaurants both of which were excellent. Tea and coffee in the room too which is becoming less and less common now, a nice touch. I need to dig deep here but if there was one thing I think the should address is a shed in which to store our bikes. We were offered a railing in the garden at the rear of the hotel to lock our bikes up, which is ok but given the value of our bikes I was less than comfortable with leaving them outdoors. It's a small gripe which only effects cyclists but were it addressed it would make the hotel perfect.

Beautiful garden area, loved the architecture of the house, and close to many shops and attractions. A hand rail is needed at the front of the house for elderly guests needing help getting up three steep steps.

Both being disabled the bathroom was excellent. both being disabled we couldnot get into the house for breakfast, this was alright cos it was sunny but I do not know what we would have done if it was wet or cold. There was no room in the bedroom for a table.

Sandford House was a very friendly place to stay and Mr Richards was really helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and looked and felt very new, the TV was great with plenty of channel choice and the breakfast was great freshly cooked and hot.I will be going back next time I am in the area

Location was good to visit the beautiful old town on Shrewsbury, lovely river walks nearby. Good shopping available. We stayed in the annex, well decorated and funished the only issue was the lack of sound proofing of the rooms.
