Tea and coffee making facilities in room, and beautiful view of the sea from our balcony, breakfast was excellent, will definately be going back.
The bedding was off colour
The room, although on the small side, was comfortable and clean. The food is very good with plenty of choice on the menu. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. Ideal for a short break that includes a day trip to France via the tunnel.
We loved the atmosphere and the decor. Our room was to an acceptable standard. The bed looked uncomfortable but we both slept very well so looks can clearly be deceiving! Our bathroom was a little dated, and there was a humongous cobweb but other than that no complaints! The breakfast was really good too and included in the price of the room. We would definitely stay here again.
Single springy bed, dog making a whining noise whilst owners were out, in adjacent room. Too hot.
Some of the fixtures and fittings are a bit dated, but in our opinion this hotel does not deserve the absolute slating given by some reviewers. We can only speak for ourselves (we had room 5) and our room was clean and comfortable with a balcony only yards away from the sea shore. The bar & restaurant was welcoming and friendly. We will definitely use this hotel again.
Staff very helpful. Breakfast good. Rooms clean.
Furniture and bedding a bit old. Windows need replacing so can ventilate rooms.
Breakfast, staff and location were fantastic!
Needed a good clean and some new furniture. The bed was very uncomfortable and it was all just a but outdated!
Extremely friendly helpful staff.
Disappointed restaurant not open due to refurbishment
very good breakfast options Would recommend the traditional english breakfast

Lovely location, goid value for money, lovely food

Overnight stopover after getting ferry but just perfect. Excellent restaurant with good choice.

Lovely place lovely staff grate night sleep
Comfortable bed and good service
Not being able to open the bedroom window .
Leaving, As the longer I stayed there the more dirt you could see in the day light
Bathroom floor tile all lose as Toliet leaked so the fixed it with a diry rage, leaking radiator with rusty water over the floor, bath towels riped and wth holes. No central heating anywhere in the room. The room was dirty and very dusty with stained sheets and hairs and genraly very dirty overall its very run down but its should be clean
Could not open bedroom windows ! Could not turn heating down ! Fan in bathroom not working ! Not very good really
A friendly smile at the recepiton and so dog friendly. We came with our 3 dogs to Sandgate. It is at a busy road just by the sea, but in the night it was quiet. We loved colour of the cushions and lamps so cosy. And the english breakfast was delicious and done fresh.
The matress was a bit too soft.
Great location Excellent breakfast Adjoining rooms so kids could sleep separately
Awful mattress on double bed Difficulties in parking Walked up 3 flights of stairs with bags. Reception did not mention there was a lift
Great value for money breakfast gorgeous would definately stay again
Wonderful friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble. Lovely balcony with table and chairs overlooking the sea
The room looked a little tatty and unloved and the mattress was uncomfortable
Excellent breakfast. Polite staff. Good location with great views of the sea.
Terrace canopy was rusty and dilapidated. stains in bath and toilet. pillows on bed looked tatty. dust and cobwebs in various nooks and cranny's.
easy access after channel crossing. lovely location - right across the road from the sea. Cute room.
water pressure in one shower was not great, but we were lucky to have 2 bathrooms (family of 4) so didn't matter.
Fantastic price and perfect location for an early morning trip on the tunnel. Very welcoming to my dog. Comfy, snug sofas by the fire. Excellent pint of Guinness, very friendly staff and good breakfast. Room at the back is quieter and warmer.
Bathrooms need some work. Stayed in two different rooms on two occasions and in both bathrooms the tiles were lifting off the floor. Room on top floor with sea view was quite cold and the noise from the road continued all night. (It was a Friday night)
The food was excellent. the staff were very helpful. Felt at ease.
Drafts windows .
The location of the hotel and the wonderful view.nice breakfast.
Hotel was shabby and room was dirty..handprints and dusty mirror, dirty taps.thick dust on drawers on bedside cabinets. Wonky toilet which moved wen u were on it. Shabby balcony.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff were great to.
Bed was so old and uncomfortable and only 1 proper pillow each. Balcony door lock broken so wasn't happy about leaving room with my stuff in.
