The staff were really accommodating and I was delighted with my alternative breakfast of spinach, mushrooms and smoked salmon instead of bacon and sausages.
Good location close to channel tunnel and seafront
Seaview room above bar terrace very noisy
Nice friendly staff, good breakfast. liked the balcony over looking the sea.
would benefit from double glazing as the road is very busy, general overall appearance could do with some money spent on it.
Location. Easy access to public transport. Close to Channel tunnel for onward journey. Good breakfast.
Rooms pretty tired, in need of a makeover. Unable to lock door onto verandah (Room 10).Could not open or close window in Room 4. (Propped open permanently with a block of wood.) Verandah floor had not been cleaned.(bottle tops and cigarette ends on floor.) Verandah roof needs attention.
Position right on sea front. Excellent dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. Very convenient for ferry from Dover.
Outside rear of property needs renovation. Only 3 private car parking spaces but plenty space to park on sea front.
On arrival the room had not been prepared to a good standard, when the manager was told of this she carried out all duties herself to a very good standard. We were also given complementary drinks when we sat for dinner, which was by the way an excellent meal.
Opposite the sea
Room very dirty. Bed had already been slept in and towels in bathroom were dirty. Would have walked out if it hadnt been nearly midnight
Lovely sea view, nice big bathroom and good sized bedroom. Friendly helpful staff.
Not actually IN Folkestone, couple of miles out of town, parking to rear not great as very snug. Bar prices very expensive, was dirt on bedding - valance.
Reasonable price and friendly staff.
Surrounding area has very little to do.
Great food at reasonable price. Lovely terrace. Helpful staff.
Would have been happier to pay more for an updated room, ours had seen better days but none the less was still comfortable.
everything was as i thought very good
- excellent views from within and outside of the hotel - lovely breakfast - helpful staff
- dated and tired decor - no reception to check in/out - dirty room and bathroom
Staff went to the trouble of letting us have breakfast early due to an early start
Feather pillows and quilt
very good location, room with sea view, breakfast was good and served on the patio, staff was very friendly and helpful
Cleanliness of the room, furniture is old and used, beds are not comfortable
Staff very helpful. Family room o.k. Breakfast good.
sea view. clean room and comfort
toilet would take long to flash and the water takes long to clear off as well..
Staff not friendly I would say hotel is tired and needs a good clean We booked sea view and arrived to be placed in a room at rear that had a mouldy smell and a generator noise all night
The only good thing was the sea view from the room and not much more!
The room was dirty and grubby. Towels and bedding with stains on them. The carpet was very stained and dirty. Uncomfortable beds, springs were felt. Had an evening meal of lobster which was overcooked and inedible. The manageress did agree not to charge us for the lobster. It seems though that she took this amount of our room price and modified the charge of the room. Breakfast sausages overcooked and dry. Overall a very poor experience. Will not be going back there.
Small room Hot Not worth the money we paid.
Location was good for Eurotunnel, only 5 min drive rather than 25 min advertised on their site. Staff were friendly.
No parking. Carpet had stains although seemed clean. Mattress was clearly old and soft/lumpy. Back room with view of well grown weeds and bins. Shower had no fixing to wall so you had to hold. Overall the place seemed cleanish but, was clearly in need of more than a bit of a refresh. Take out breakfast, didn't mind foil but, to wrap croissant, cheese ham and pear all in together didn't seem most hygienic. Also all but pear looked a bit like leftovers from several days prior, needless to say it was untouched and binned,
Location fantastic. Sea views from bedrooms and superb terrace facing sea front. Food was good especially the English breakfast. Very nice service from friendly staff.
Lift wasn't working and we were on 4 th floor.
The breakfast good and staff ok.
There was a house brick keep the window of our room open. The bath room, tile on floor cracked and broken, tolet ciston running constantly, fan did not work, bathroom door would not close, bath taps had no hot or cold markings, around the taps had not been clean for ages. The TV in our room, we could not get a picture on any channel when ask at reception if it could be fix the answer was ( it been like this for ages )The room is in need of a update and repaint. The lCapet that form the reception to the lift and stair is filthy. Have email my complains to the manager at the Sandgate but have not had a reply.
The location, was close to family.
The hotel standards are very low, room not clean, bedding stained. Bathroom poor, towels frayed and grey.
Location with seaview.
