I had to leave early on my final morning to catch the ferry and would miss breakfast but the host offered to make a packed breakfast (bacon roll, fruit, biscuit and drink) and leave it out for me so despite my early departure I was catered for well.

Even catching the "very" early ferry wasn't a problem. The host prepared a packed breakfast to take away. Great B&B.

Friendliness of owners. Very good breakfast. Jim drove us into town and ferry terminal and nothing was too much trouble Its a fair bit more to the ferry terminal than the five minute walk advertised. If you require an ensuite room bear in mind that the rooms with a view over the sea are not en suite. The owner was very accommodating and shifted us to an en suite room.

The view from my window was amazing to wake up to and the owner went out of his way to make your visit as pleasant as possible. The only constructive feedback I would give would be to clean the inside of the kettle in the rooms the rest of the cleanliness was good.

Excellent host and excellent facilities EXCEPT the room was not en-suite and we were a little put off, but for a one night stop over the coffee and breakfast made up for it.I'm sure if the website had indicated it was not en-suite I suspect i would not have stayed

Made to feel very welcome. Jim is an excellent host and nothing appears to be any trouble. Was very comfortable during my 3 night stay. On the final morning I had to leave early at 6am Jim had already prepared and left a packed breakfast for me to pick up on leaving. Great touch. All fine

It's a modern house, well furnished and with a very pleasant front garden overlooking the bay. My single room was of a good size, with a comfortable bed, tea/coffee/biscuits, and a good wi-fi connection. The host, Jim, was very friendly and a mine of useful information about places to visit on the island. He also provides, on request, a flask of tea or coffee because tea-rooms etc are few and far between outside Stornoway. Breakfast was always of a high standard, mostly from local produce. All in all, an excellent base for exploring the island. Highly recommended. Nothing to say here: the guest house exceeded my expectations in every respect.

FRiendly host £85 for double room single occupancy with no en-suite, no bar, no dinner and no restaurants or bars in close proximity was a rip-off. The "king" room was a normal double but en-suite with a view over a very untidy back area. At £115 b&b, this was exceptionally poor value. Hotel prices without the amenity.

Jimmy the proprietor was excellent and picked up some other friends who were staying nearby so that we could meet up. In addition he was extremely knowledgeable about Stornoway, Lewis and Harris and recommeded restaurants, pubs and places to visit. Breakfast was also excellent.

The owners are friendly and welcoming and are very helpful with advice and making the stay pleasant. We chose this place for location to the 7 am ferry but would think of repeat stay. The two rooms were took were very small singles with shared baths. But, the rooms were very clean with lovely bed linens, tv, sink and good storage. The bathrooms were also very clean and it was not too difficult to have access to them when needed. The owner got up early to get us some breakfast for our very early ferry and he will also provide rides to the ferry if you are there without an auto. My only suggestion is that if you are very allergic to cats you might not want to stay as there are a few cats on premises. But, they are sweet cats and do not bother anyone. Beautiful gardens outside. It is also a very quiet location and one can walk along the beach. I prefer my own toilet but this was short term so it was not a problem. Also, the view from the back rooms are not great but again, beautiful sea view from the front and the breakfast room.

A bit on the edge of the town of Stornoway it is at the end of a street, Quiet and with a clear view you see the north of the isle of Skye. Town centre is a ten minutes walk away. Basic room but everything tidy and clean. Maybe not such a special place but very good for a quiet night of sleep.

We celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary on 24 April. I took my wife as a surprise to Stornoway and we spent a night at Sandwick Bay Guest House. The wecome and service was brilliant we were treated like royals from the moment we arrived until we left. Jim met us at the Ferry port and transported us to the guest house. Inga met us with a pot of tea and coffee. I requested flowers before hand. On arrival at our room we were surprised to find flowers, chocolates and a first class bottle of red wine. Jim somehow trusted me by further as a gift gave me his car keys and we had the use of a car for a whole day. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice. We will remeber this celebration for the est of our lives. It is a great place with excellent hosts. Thank you Jim and Inga
