Great location, friendly staff, good pub across the road, nice breakfast.
The whole experience
Friendly staff Super food - small menu but each dish is excellent.
Bit of an odd sell in the bedroom!
Themed rooms were really nice touch. Staff friendly and breakfast was delicious
There was a wedding on so we didn't have access to one area.
Very friendly and helpful staff
We were warned that there was a wedding at the hotel with some noise till midnight. However, we didn't realise that our room was right next to the function suite. (Ok if you don't want to sleep until early hours - otherwise avoid days when there is a function on)
We only found out after booking that there could be a problem with late nose should there be a wedding party at the hotel. This disturbed our sleep considerably. The room also did not have an external window and looked onto a covered conservatory where guests could sit. This led to it being dark and also a need to pull the curtains for privacy. However, the venue looked good for a Wedding! The breakfast was good.
The welcome, the cleanliness, the food was very good, from basic staples done exceedingly well to some lovely specials (especially the truffle ravioli and baked yoghurt). The building was lovely inside with inside and outside terraces.
Rowdy wedding on one of the nights which lowered the tone of the place and spoilt the experience for the residents. Great shame.
first hotel we have had when some one showed us to our. lovely room every thing you want in the room. breakfast was very nice and there was a person who showed you to your table and took attentive care off you. great try it
Excellent location over looking the Amber Valley. Farm style hotel had character and the food was good.
Room could have been cleaner. On both days we stayed only one set of towels provided.
Great location Very nice place Great breakfast Friendly staff Soya milk Great views
Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Hotel was very nice, our room very comfortable and very clean. Restaurant nice and food good. Would certainly stay again.
Would have preferred a better view from our window rather than storage rooms.
Comfortable bed, good location staff were friendly. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
The staff and management were outstanding, very welcoming and friendly to all, plus great food.
Nice place helpful staff
Location, room nice
There were a few little things that staff forgot, eg emptying bins from previous occupiers, putting new bin liners in
Noisy person in room next to us
Staff were very friendly, room clean and tidy. Restaurant food good as was breakfast.
The hotel has many parties and you can hear the guests well into the night.
The price was far too high for the services and room. Paying London prices in the Peaks!
great reception staff, really friendly and helpful
no real window in room, sky light only, so lack of fresh air
liked the area
would have liked the breakfast to hotter
Room was very comfortable with a fabulously designed bathroom.
The views are fantastic and the restaurant is excellent. The staff are very friendly.
Our room had no window so it might be worth asking for a view when booking
Stayed 2 nights and ate at the restaurant. Restaurant was excellent, and we can recommend it. Room large and very clean. Was a good base for visiting the Peak District.
We enjoyed the warm welcome, knowledgeable staff, the luxurious bathtub, and scenic views.
The room was dusty, with many cobwebs around it. The bed was very uncomfortable, it was too hard and you could feel every spring and considering we were paying for a superior room, the quality was not up to scratch. Also, the bedding and quality of the pillows did not match the name tag. The buffet breakfast was terrible. We constantly had to ask for things that had not been topped up or re-filled. They had powdered eggs, and nothing was fresh.
Location Staff service Good breakfast Great power shower
Very hard mattress on bed Tired furniture I paid good rate but it was not worth the advertised rate of £120! Skip outside window Very noisy when people use the loo- not good when you can actually hear someone going to the toilet! TV only showed BBC1 Tiles in bathroom above sink need cleaning.
