The bedroom did not have a mirror, difficult to dry your hair without one. Curtains did not fit properly, off the hooks, hanging down, reminded me of student accommodation

This hotel is lovely, very helpful staff and great atmosphere. Rooms we're very cheap and very well looked after. Nice location too.

Cost of food and drink was a little pricey, but very nice. It wouldn't stop me revisiting though.

Friendly staff. I was there for a folk festival but no problem in getting served in the bar well after midnight, each night.

Very friendly, helpful staff. We needed an extra bed at the last minute and they accommodated this with no trouble to us at all. Comfortable, clean rooms. Nice atmosphere generally. Good breakfast. Very happy with our stay.

The seting, and the room was fair value for money, although not luxurious. The staff were very helpful indeed and did their best to sort out the lack of wiFi

Location. Pleasant bar staff.

Our room (16) had only two small windows, the others having been stuck up, and the room smelt musty and was rather hot. Car park very difficult to find (an obvious arrow on the sign "car park at rear" would have helped). As we were plainly visiting for the first time, an explanation of the one way system could have been provided.

Very nice hotel and comfortable. The chef was very good, evening meal and breakfast was excellent

The waiters were poor, except for one. The breakfast waiter took the order for cooked breakfast but didn't clear the table and didn't come back to ask if any toast was required or any more tea or coffee. The waiter in the evening went off to get a steak knife and never returned...............

I liked the location, the breakfasts, the staff were all really brilliant, the bedroom was very good and the bathroom was clean and nice. I liked the hotel as a heritage place to return to and I liked the parking permit for 2 nights

The TV was on its last legs, the decor is really heritage tatty conservative club. Why are there carpets everywhere when they only mask a deeper rot. The entry door is a double PUSH - PULL disaster. No lift at least we werent offered the use of one

Very clean and comfortable room.

The internet was down which was irritating as we depend on it when travelling. Staff are not really respondent to the needs of the customer.

The first night there was wedding evening affair very very noisy, would not stop in future if there was a wedding booked

For the 2nd time running I have had issues with no wireless, I made a point of requesting a room via the booking.com asking for a room with wifi, I as told nothing until I came down stairs and the receptionist looked at me and said no wifi, sorry but it doesn't work up there, (better than the last time when I was told it was due to weather), I asked to speak to management and no one was available, I was due to stay 2 nights and had to cancel the 2nd night, the next morning upon handing in my key the receptionist said "you where in the haunted room" I asked if the ghost stops the WiFi (didn't get a laugh), they then went to charge me an extra £2.50 on top of room hire for paying with credit card, they didn't bother asking me if all was ok or why I was leaving early, when I said do you have wifi in the rooms like it states on booking.com, the reply " we have it in this room and that room pointing to the restaurant" and she said that I must have misinterpreted booking.com, I walked out extremely unhappy, asked for a manager and was told again not one available, still awaiting a call

All staff had a good attitude & were very attentive. Restaurant & the choice of food exceeded our expectations. Room was okay and the beds very good. Very restful place

lovely location staff in breakfast area really helpful served by the same pleasant staff on the two mornings we were there. had thought that a staff member in reception area was helpful when she had allowed me to use phone to try to contact my daughter, found out after that my daughter had in fact contacted reception but she had failed to inform me even though i had explained my dilema. when my daughter arrived and explained that she had phoned and had spoken to a male staff member who was very unhelpful the girl who had been there just looked at us and said sorry i forgot !!! what is going on at all . the whole experience was really frustating and i will be emailing my complaint seperately.

one staff member going about asking did people want a colonic irrigation on the morning of saturday 13 th april while people were trying to orgasnise themselves for a wedding. he seemed to think he was being funny. im not a spoilsport but thought this was disgraceful, what on earth was he thinking?? he was carrying a draining rod to unblock toilets i guess.

Food was very good service was good room very clean a very good stay overall would recommend this hotel to all our engineers or friends

Beer was very over priced at £3:50 a pint and not very good
