We like everything
Long wait for breakfast. Not up to standard.
The huge bed in the very nice, comfortable bedroom; the excellent real ale in the bar; and the textbook poached eggs at breakfast.
Couldn't get the WiFi to work, but then again, didn't try too hard.
Quiet room with all mod cons
Relaxed atmosphere and good food in a pleasant setting and nice and central
I requested a low level room and this was provided. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble
Really friendly staff. Breakfast service superior to most quality hotels I've stayed in.
Car park access is difficult to find.
easy access cosy place with log fire
no magnify mirror for make up
Room very comfortable.
Cobwebs on ceiling. No hot water. Boiler was broken. Old bathroom. Needs upgrading.
The cost of the taxi from the Stansted to the Hotel at STG17.00 each way makes it an expensive stop over. The site needs to advise of the taxi service they recommend.
The staff were embarrassed by the problems and tried to help, another electric heater was supplied but did not work
It was a bitterly cold day and there was no heating apart from a hastily added electric heater. We also requested a king size bed, it was a double and towels were very poor
Spacious nicely decorated room. Great food. Fantastic choices at breakfast. And all value for money.
Some tables in the restaurant against the old sash windows were cold.
The whole stay was fine a warm welcome and cosy room on a very cold day, most staff were friendly and helpful breakfast was fantastic.
The bar was untidy and messy after we believe a family gathering, staff very slow to tidy up and wipe tables down after the party left, the bar also lacked atmosphere.
A perfect stay; a delightful hotel, with a great, comfortable and well apportioned room, helpful, friendly staff and excellent facilities. Food was delicious! Fantastic value and all-round experience.
Nothing; our stay was delightful.
fantastic staff, good breakfast, nice furniture, nice restaurant
Excellent value for money ,gym was a bonus
Had Fish and Chips for dinner. A disappointment. I had to look for the fish and the mushy peas were cold.
Perfect location if you have to fly from stansted and free parking , big spacious room lovely food.
Not enough of staff in the restaurant/pub. There was just one waitress and she was running around for assist everyone.
We were visiting family nearby and at £55 per night for a double room the Saracens Head was excellent value for money. The hotel is very pleasant and more than met our needs.
The receptionist was quite rude. The breakfast could have been more generous.
The hotel is fab, staff were really friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was so good - wish I lived round the corner so I could eat there every week!!! Room was lovely, bed was super comfortable and massive - can't say enough good things about this hotel :)
The rooms are clean and nicely equipped. The location to the airport is good - there are several buses going there but when you arrive it´s not well documented which bus is stopping at the hotel.
Beautiful main bedroom, funkily designed and spacious. Poached eggs for breakfast cooked perfectly. Very attractive classic breakfast room, romantic part of the building.
Bar area no character. Staff on occasion not acting in a manner appropriate to such a Hotel. Management needs to decide if this is a classy establishment or just a local bar with rooms en route to the airport!
The lady who served breakfast on boxing day.
The room was cold despite the fact that it was an executive room and we had a13mnth old baby. The cleaners not only did they start cleaning after midday but we also caught them bitching about us. They were livid to say the least and they didnt do anything at all in the room apart from replacing teabags and emptying bins. The hotel brags about a good breakfast but the selection is very limited and one of the mornings there was no butter on the tables. There is no wifi at all despite the fact they boast of free wifi. There was confusion for us first timers as to where to check in as there is no signage for the reception at all.
The whole stay.
Would have loved heavier duvet but thats a personal thing!
Everything else very good.
Extremely noisy smoking area full of loud 'geezers'
