In todays market no room should have a bath only, a shower is a must. A waste of valuable water.

Original town centre hotel with all its quirks! Much better than staying at basic motels.

Homely, welcoming feel, very relaxed, staff were very friendly and excellent food. Mattress too soft, shower head too low, bathrooms could do with replacing as a bit tired now.

Food was excellent and the bar area welcoming. Car parking was adequate The room was a bit basic and had a very funny smell (polish?). The bathrooms really need a makeover. The TV showed lots of channels on the digital guide but only 5 seemed to be available which was disappointing.

Friendly staff. The shower head was broken, the room was extremely cold on arrival, the door outside the room was very loud when used and kept us awake.

Comfortable nice location friendly staff. Curtains in room were not attached properly causing them to droop. Tiles and paintwork were in need of regrouting & cleaning. Carpet on stairs in one place had come unstuck. Makes the hotel look a little tired!

Generally room good but bathrooms could do with revamping. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast. We stayed for the races but were disappointed with the choice of restaurants in the town. Ate in hotel one night which was ok but I dont think its home cooked. Having said that it was not bad value for money. Bathrooms need refurb.

The girls that work there are first class and very efficient The older chap behind the bar in the evening was too abrupt and generally miserable. It wasn't intentional - I'm sure he's very nice if you got to know him - but we travellers don't have the time to get to know anyone. First impressions count.

“This is an old-fashioned hotel in the very best sense of the term. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, the food was good and we slept well. We felt comfortable the whole time we were there. The best bit was the beer!” Michael, Wimborne |
