It was relaxed and friendly, and slightly old fashioned rather than over modern. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice and warm all the time. The only thing that was difficult for me was the fact that it didn't have a lift and I was on the second floor so getting luggage to and from my room was not easy.

Friendly staff. The shower head was broken, the room was extremely cold on arrival, the door outside the room was very loud when used and kept us awake.

Stafff were considerate and very helpful especially as the occasion for which we travelled to Towcester, was to spend time with family following a bereavement. We'd certainly recommend the hotel and would happily stay therem again. Particularly liked the way the age of the building had been respected and incorporated into a living, working environment.

The staff were friendly and it was close to family which is why we stayed. we didn't have any shampoo or soap, and we only had one towel but to be fair we didn't ask for any more as it was a one night stay.

Comfortable nice location friendly staff. Curtains in room were not attached properly causing them to droop. Tiles and paintwork were in need of regrouting & cleaning. Carpet on stairs in one place had come unstuck. Makes the hotel look a little tired!

Generally room good but bathrooms could do with revamping. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast. We stayed for the races but were disappointed with the choice of restaurants in the town. Ate in hotel one night which was ok but I dont think its home cooked. Having said that it was not bad value for money. Bathrooms need refurb.

Location Tired and in need of refurbishment. Room on the surface cleanish but cobwebs in room and mould around bathroom sealant and edgings. Public rooms again tired - frayed and loose carpets. It is an old pub with rooms. Staff were very good. Food ok to good.

The girls that work there are first class and very efficient The older chap behind the bar in the evening was too abrupt and generally miserable. It wasn't intentional - I'm sure he's very nice if you got to know him - but we travellers don't have the time to get to know anyone. First impressions count.

Very comfortable and good sized beds, good quality shower, good standard of cleanliness in rooms and public areas, excellent quality food at dinner, very attentive staff for the main. The floorboards creak! Although not unexpected for a building of this age, it became a little wearing later at night...
