Deep in the peaceful Northamptonshire countryside, Farthingstone Hotel & Golf Course offers bright, airy accommodation. It has a restaurant, bar, a challenging golf course and a squash court.
Score from 40 reviews Good
This charming hotel rests in a picturesque little village, one and a half miles from Silverstone racetrack.

Close to Silverstone, the A43 and junction 15 of the M1, this relaxed and informal country inn has comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi and an excellent restaurant.
Score from 137 reviews Good
Complete with free parking, very comfortable rooms and an on-site Chef and Brewer restaurant, this Premier Inn is a great base for Silverstone Race Circuit (2 miles).
Score from 129 reviews Very good
Good value, good location and had character.
Breakfast was served very slow and I had to ask for toast because it was not served. Then they had run out of brown bread. Not a big problem but irritating in a morning especially when you are ready for work
unable to park onsite as restaurant busy, creaking floorboards kept me awake
The rooms are well decorated and quite spacious. Bathroom is clean and well equipped. Towels and all bed linen beautifully clean. Excellent choice at breakfast and very good quality. This time all the staff we met were a delight, cheerful, helpful and totally professional. So much so that we have booked ten rooms for next year when our daughter is getting married. Certainly no cause to complain about anything. We will return.
This is the second time we have stayed here and the first time we had a problem with a member of staff who wanted to seat us in the middle of a lower dining room where a family party was celebrating. This despite the fact we booked a table well in advance. The girl was intractable and we walked out and ate elsewhere
this is the 2nd year we have stopped over at this hotel. Helpful staff, comfortable and well furnished rooms. Excellent meals and a warm atmosphere. Staff seem to enjoy working at this hotel. 400 yrs old - all the extensions have been done tastefully and in keeping with surroundings. Well done to Paul and his team.
Nothing to dislike.
Food good and good selection of real ales at the bar.
Room overlooked the main road and was quite noisy all night.
Staff, location, food
Bed, outside noise from other guests, noise from stairs and hallway.
The room was lovely and clean with all the facilities you needed.
Just a small minus is that we went for breakfast around 10 am and staff were cleaning up and when asked for coffee and toast the coffee was luke warm and by the time our butter was brought to our table the toast was cold.
The hotel and staff
The location,execellent staff,superior double rooms,restraunt,the whole atmosphere,as moto-gp wk,end,ie like minded customers.
No negitive comments as well enjoyed by both of us,would recomend to other bike race goers.
Excellent location for any Silverstone event, especially if you book the park & ride. The park is situated at the racecourse approx 5 minutes in a car, also being North of the circuit its much easier to drive down as there is less traffic (we found). Make sure you book a table in advance as we did. There were a lot of people calling in on spec for a table with no availability till later on as they were fully booked.
Tea-things hidden, no tray. Bath looked dirty, window needed hanger to keep open. Kept waiting on arrival. Dinner had been kept warm since lunchtime. Fire-evac'n to a field at rear ..no field, only car park. Muster-point sign obscured. No map of escape routes in room.breakfast was slow.
The hotel's character and quality
My room being in the attic!
Hotel in general was pleasant and the rooms were of a decent standard with the decor being up to date with quality curtains and bedding. The shower was also good. All in all a pleasant atmosphere and decent for the rating it has. I would stay here again without hesitation but with the only reservation being the restaurant.
We ate in the restaurant for one evening meal - we waited to be served for almost 40 mins; the staff were not what I would consider "rushed off their feet" either. We had to get up and go and get someone to take our order in the end. We then waited about 20 mins for the food to arrive. We were not offered any dessert menus etc either but it really was too late by then anyway. Breakfast turned out to be the same .... we sat for a good 20 mins as did others until we had to again go and get someone to take our order. The cooked breakfast element took about half an hour to come out. One of their breakfast customers actually left before they were given their order as he had to be at work. We made sure that we got to breakfast early on subsequent mornings and sat in a "high profile" area - this did work better as far as the service was concerned and we made sure to eat elsewhere for dinner. However despite all this the staff were actually courteous if a little laid back(?); in our opinion there seemed to be a lack of direction or order within the front of house staff - staff did not seem to have specific tables to wait on and there can only be a shortage of staff in the kitchen for the food to take so long after ordering. The hotel must be aware of this as there was a sort of guest camaraderie over the slow service!!
Just a few minutes to Towcester Race Course where we parked the car and used the pre-booked Park n Ride to Silverstone. The room and bed were large and comfortable. The food was great (we ate in both nights we stayed) and the breakfast terrific. The best part of all was the staff - attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Had to keep the window shut as it overlooked the courtyard where people were socialising which meant the room was stuffy, so avoid room 8. No tea-making facilities.
Noise from the entertainment while trying to sleep, but wouldnt stop me staying again.
overall not bad value for money
manager could welcome people more.towel rail had fault notice on it dated 3/4, no drink prices on show, very slow with brackfast service.
Good convenient location with adequate parking; quite good breakfast; Wi-Fi access; comfortable bed and good shower.
Difficult to locate reception staff on arrival; stuffy room and difficult to open window - but once open, traffic noise made sleep difficult.
This is the second time we have stayed here, both times to go to Silverstone as it's very close by. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the room was really nice and spacious and excellent value. Breakfast was very good (better the second time for some reason).
The ambience the comfort cleanliness the friendly and competent staff.the comfortable room and bed,the food and drink which was so delicious, reasonably priced and excellent choice. The staff were so helpful and considerate, even got hot milk with my coffee at breakfast. Can't wait to return
Cannot find anything to complain about !!!
Location, parking, olde worlde shops nearby, friendly staff, lovely refurb of a gorgeous old building. I would go back.
Staff very friendly but totally disorganised. Needing someone front of house to give people clear instructions or at least separate designated roles. Very hot weekend - shame after a beautiful refurb that there was no air-conditioning. Allergic to odour-neutraliser smell (used it seems to cover up smells from kitchen) so asthmatics take your puffers.
Accommodation and food were excellent
Location was good, as was the breakfast. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The meal in the restaurant was good - nice steak
The room we were allocated was at the front of the hotel and as the hotel is adjacent to traffic lights the noise from waiting traffic was intrusive. This was probably the only negative comment following our stay.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean.
Duvet on bed too small. Breakfast poor on one of the three days. Cold, scrambled egg like an omelet. Fine on other days. No grab rail in shower, slippery floor.
Very friendly bar, waiting and reception staff. Nice food. Very nice room.
Room rather noisy due to overlooking street.
