though not too central, we had a good connection to the city via bus and underground; nice personnel, as helpful as possible under the circumstances
we were booked into a different flat from the one advertised without prior information - with only 1 double bed for three people booked in; other than advertised, there was no kitchen in the flat, but a shared kitchen on the base floor which was VERY filthy; small, dark and dirty bathroom; on the whole the flat was not very clean; walls had wet stains; WLAN did not work
The look of the apartment – There were 4 apartments in the building, ours was with an external kitchen – the kitchen was messy and all the plates and forks etc. were dirty, especially because there was a renovation going on in the building when we got there. This external kitchen was shared, although NOWHERE on the advertisement was it specified. Although we needed the apartment only for sleep and to have a peaceful breakfast, for two days we didn’t even get that as the walls are so thin and the doors in the building so loud that the movement of other guests, especially the closing of doors was too loud. The room that we got was clean and OK, but we weren’t able to fully close one of the windows and there was no heating when it was cold outside (8 C). In the bathroom which was generally OK, there were no soup and no place to put the towels provided by them. The person responsible for the apartments seems very confused and we were a bit unsure about his English, we had a problem communicating properly and it wasn’t us that were the problem. Also were barely able to arrange a meeting to pay our bill (we had to practically beg the guy to come to the apartment) and even then he wanted us to pay more than was agreed upon on the booking and corrected himself only when we pointed out the correct price. To sum up, we don’t recommend these apartments as the only good thing about them was that we had our own bathroom (which is very expensive in London) and that there were cheap restaurants and grocery shops nearby.
The staff were as helpful as they could be and the access to public transport was easy.
The drains were blocked, even after staff attendance, the garden gate was stuck open to other properties, the bathroom was very stained with mould and the hot water was unreliable.
We took this mainly because of the lower price compared to other available furnished apartments (we needed a kitchen/washing machine/fridge as we traveled with a baby). The positive side is the apartment is spacious, has a small garden, really nice for good weather. The kitchen is well-equipped and crockery is present as well. Many good eating places nearby (mostly Turkish and fast food) and 24 hour grocery stores etc. also available. Buses available at 2 min walk and they can take you to any station (Manor House or Finsbury) to go to city center or any attractions. Or you can walk to Harringay Green Lanes station and catch a train there. The manager Usman is a friendly person and tries to help as much as possible. We wanted an early checkin (10am) and although the apartment wasn't ready, he arranged another room for us for half a day which was kind of him. The area overall is good and peaceful, no security issues.
Firstly, hot water was not available. The water heater kept malfunctioning so that for 80% of our stay we did not have hot water and during the remaining time it was 'cyclical'.. hot for a few seconds then cold for a few seconds and then hot again and so on. Really weird and this was the major spoiler for our stay there. Although Usman did his best to try and fix it or get it fixed, but it kept malfunctioning. Second issue was this apartment was at ground level, and there were rooms at upper level. You can hear loud thumps of footsteps above you..usually late at night when you are trying to sleep and even early morning so you can't plan to sleep-in till late morning, you will be woken up. Was really irritating at times. Pillows were a nuisance, really thin and not deserve to be called pillows. There was a slight stench in the apartment for most part of our stay. Although cheap, its a good distance away from the city center and attractions. You need atleast 40-45 minutes to travel (bus-train-walk combined) to go to any attraction. First day we wanted to buy a travel card from National Railways to avail a deal for 2-4-1 for the attractions, however, please note that there was no ticket facilities at Harringay Green Lanes or Harringay National Railways office which could serve us. Best way is to buy an Oyster or a one way ticket to Finsbury station and get a card from there. Also, for this travel card, you need photocard, so bring along a photo with you. If you have a photocard, you can get the travel card from ticket machines also at Harringay. One incident when we returned late one night, somebody had put the security chain from inside the door to the apartment building. We couldn't get in even though we had the key to the lock. We called Usman who tried calling tenants within the building but no one would pick up. Finally after a lot of banging and calls to the ground floor neighbor, they were kind enough to wake up and open the door for us.
Nice basic apartment. Fulfilled all my requirements. Location ix great for people exploring London. High street is 4 mins away. Would book again
Bathroom was a bit small. Kitchen window too high up so couldnt open when cooking
We liked that we were separate from other rooms. It was very spacious and clean. The room facilities were good.
A little far from the tube station - bus required
Space and comfort. Good bed.
I liked the decor and how clean it was and a good welcome by staff
Wi-fi connection problems
It was a reasonably priced place, 15 mins walk to the tube.
The place is in need of renovation, the bathroom looked old and tired, there was a hole in the ceiling where there should have been a light fitting.
* WiFi * Location * Friendly owner & staff
Nothing seroius, the blanket was a bit thin and therefore cold
We stayed in apartment 4. As group of three friends who we're heading to a festival at nearby Finsbury Park the location was simply brilliant! The tube was a short walk away and super central for kings cross. The nearby high street and shopping outlet meant that we could stock up on a few food essentials. The staff we're friendly texting before arrival and the accomodation was bright and spacious with sofa, towels, wi-fi, TV, fridge, kettle, microwave. We had everything we needed and so much more than we'd have ever received from a hotel. I wouldnt hesitate to come back if we need this location again. Fab.
The road outside and surrounding houses were a little noisey at times, but no more than it would be in a hotel in central london. The communal kitchen area could have been a little cleaner, the bathroom could have been better maintained and a few crockery items were missing ...but again for the price it's what i'd have expected and it in no way spolit our stay.
Comfortable apartment, located in a quiet street. The apartment is equipped with everything that is needed for a stay: kitchen, cutlery, pots, microwave, fridge, washing machine, iron board, flat TV, wi-fi. Wi-fi connection is very fast, never had any problem in my 4-day stay. Spacious bedroom. The owners are helpful, you can contact them via sms if you need anything during your stay, and they explained us how to use all the electric tools in the kitchen.
The bathroom is a bit tiny, there are literally 10 cm between the shower door and the sink. The TV in our flat was positioned right on the side of the bed, making it impossible to watch if sitting normally on the bed or on the sofa. With regards to the payment, we agreed with the owner we`d have paid cash on the day of departure, and he came to pick up the money an hour before the agreed time, and basically waited in front of our door for us to leave (it was 10.30 am, the check out time is 11.00 am) since the room had to be cleaned before the next guest came in. We requested a receipt for our payment, and after 10 days we´re still waiting for it.
Great value & larger than we thought it would be. Clean & quiet. Large bedroom with a big bay window. Great sized queen bed which is rare in the UK. There was a second room with a divan that would sleep others. Close to shops & bus to City. Microwave, iron & board supplied. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
Whilst cooking pots, pans, crockery & cutlery was supplied, inexplicably there were no knives, spoons, coffee mugs/cups & only 1 glass. Maybe they were stolen by previous tenants? There was no sink to wash up, only the bathroom basin. Then again if supplied this might cause the rent to increase?
Clean and quiet place. Good transport links to central London.
We were a group of 4 and rented a 1 bedroom apartment (bedroom, livingroom, kitchenette, bathroom) - app. no 2 in the house on 101 Pemberton Road. The livingroom had an extendable sofa (Ikea) for 2 people, comfortable, a round table for eating (which we moved on the terrace in the morning), 4 chairs, one lage coffee table. The bedroom had a double bed, a small desk, an armoire and a lamp. The appartment is not big, but it is comfortable despite being modestly furnished, and it is decorated in luminous colours so it seems bigger. The livingroom and the kitchenette did not have a window. The livingroom was separated from the bedroom through a window cut in the wall, so some of the light from the bedroom could also light the livingroom. The window also had curtains, to ensure privacy :). The kitchenette was fully equiped (plates, glasses, mugs, stove, oven, fridge, washing mashine, tea and coffee making facilities). It was narrow, but then again it was only a kitchenette and it was enough for a 3-night stay - we were out sightseeing during the day, anyway. The bathroom adjoins the kitchenette and the bedroom and has 2 points of entry: one from the kitchen, which is separated from the living room by a wall cut like a bar, and one from outside, from the terrace, where you end up directly from the bedroom. The setting was interesting, because one could go to the bathroom without disturbing the people sleeping in the other room. The bathroom was small and narrow, but it had a shower cabin, toilet and sink - so everything you needed. Bathtowels and bed spreads were provided - they were clean and matching in colour. The apartment was clean and excellent value for money. It had a excellent wifi signal and flat screen with cable tv, for those interested. The best part of the whole apartment was the fract that we had direct access to a terrace (an inner courtyard, actually, paved with stone), where we ate breakfast every morning since we were lucky to have great weather.
In our last night there the heater broke down and we didn't have hot water. We didn't call the owner because it was late, but he said it sometimes happens, but that he can fix it rather easily. Except for this, the days we spent there were great.
Very quiet neighborhood.
Small bed for a couple.
location new cozy rooms clean quiet nice personal
no sign of the hotel name on the building (we had troubles to find it) no reception available wifi code not provided
Spacious and comfortable apartment with a very friendly and helpful staff; higly recommend it
IT was clean and the staff was very nice.

Staff was very helpful and friendly, good location, and the actual place is even better than the pictures.
