We enjoyed the hospitality. The menu each day was exciting. The lounge was very relaxing with a beautiful view over the countryside. The log fire was an added bonus. The lighting in the dining room was a little dim. |

Loved the period furnishings. The scenery was beautiful and the food was excellent. The one member of staff, although being run off her feet, was friendly and accommodating. We had booked for a show and had a problem with the time of the evening meal. We were kindly given an alternative time to eat. Generally speaking,my type of Hotel. |

our whole weekend was a delight from start to finish.our luggage was carried to our room when we first arrived.the service was excellent nothing was too much trouble. as for the food it was amazing. every dish was delicious we would definitely go back again. |

Liked the view from hotel public rooms Despite only one other couple in hotel,we were given a small room with a restricted view.Better room requested-no success! Bathroom minute.Room not clean,wastebasket from prev.occupants not emptied, re-decoration reqd.Stayed only 1 night not two as intended. |

The food was excellent; the staff was delightful; the accommodations, and in particular the lounge, were comfortable and perfect in which to spend a very rainy morning. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, and it is very convenient to the Beatrix Potter sites we wanted to visit. |

Hotel was fine, grounds good. hotel says it has restaurant but did not say only open 18.30 - 19.30 and then only if you book by 10am that day!Service rather odd |
