Hayley, Paul and the boys welcome you to their guest house, a special place to stay in York; a distinctive Edwardian residence, where a more friendly property is hard to find.

Location and free parking.
We traveled all throughout England and Scotland and the Saxon had the fastest WiFi connection of all. They had a nice breakfast in the morning and were very helpful. Beautiful walk to town.
It was rather stuffy. Warmer day than normal, but the fan helped.
Easy walk alongside the river into the city. Very nice and helpful staff. Plentiful continental breakfast. Good value for money.
Bathroom very small - a hook or two would have been useful. Traffic a little noisy when the window is open.
Availability of Gideon bible in the hotel ?
Drawers in the room a bit dusty
staff location b+b
Beautiful, clean and cosy room and very friendly host.
Close to the city centre, about 15 minutes walk. Close to the University, 25 minutes walk. Landlady very friendly.
Clean enough but with some hairs on toilet and shower. Windows with some greasy spots. Carpets need a change, they are dirty and very used. Breakfast very simple and not very appetizing.
Smelly bathroom, poor breakfast found mould on bread! No greeting from owners, left to find out about room and facilities
Very well equipped with firm comfy beds, wifi, sky tv & welcome pack. If we come up as a family again will certainly use this apartment.
Only thing that could improve it would be to leave a pint of milk to go with the tea, coffee, bread, croissants, butter, jam, cereal, wine.
Location of this B&B very good, staff where very nice and it was clean.
The room we stopped in could do with a make-over and the shower was very poor
Room clean, bed fine.
Room overlooking busy road and very noisy. Nothing hot for breakfast; coffee instant.
Welcome, the owners are very helpful with lots of local information available. The family room we stayed in with our grand kids was just right, shower was welcomed. Would stay again for sure, breakfast was just right continental, you do not need a full English to walk around York plenty of places to eat whilst you are out. We would recommend the Saxon House B&B to any one
Nothing, it was what it was a very cheerful B&B don't expect 4 star hotel and you will be alright.
Great location and very we'll equipped-we will stay again.
Everything was good
Lovely couple and really helpful
We paid for 2 nights in the hotel and we had being double booked te second night so they found us alternative accommodation which was awful. Had to share a bed with a friend in a dingy pub
Very clean, very local, excellent service from owners, nice bottle of wine and snacks left available, awesome place, would def stay again
All waso good
Help yourself breakfast, no fresh coffee, teabag in mug, no service, only one bedside table, inadequate bedside lighting, revolting mock leather furniture.
Welcome, helpful nature of owners, breakfast (continental), proximity to Barbican, 5 minutes walk...
Rooms a bit on small side, but comfortable and clean...
Angie´s friendly staff. Good location and parking
No toiletries and small tv
Waste bin had not been emptied from previous guest
I loved the apartments it was especially nice to have a continental breakfast supplied. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.
Parking was slightly limited
Excellent location lovely walk along the river into York. The room although small was perfect for a overnight stay, very clean with everything one would need. In all a really enjoyable stay made very welcome when we arrived and I must say the breakfast was excellent. Would certainly come back.
The Breakfast room and the bathroom in our room had recently been refurbished and had a very modern feel to them. While it was a self-service breakfast, there was a good variety of food available.
the carpets in our room could use updating
The ambiance and the friendly way you are treated throughout our stay
We stayed at the apartment at the back of the Saxon House and couldn't have been happier. No noise from party-goers (as we might have gotten in town), though, it being a flat, we could occasionally hear downstairs, as I'm sure they could hear us. Staying with parents and a 3 year old, the apartment was perfect - just close enough to town, but far enough to be a good walk for the wee one (about 10 minutes) and great to see all the cyclists out. Best organic shop in York practically over the road (so the taxi driver told us). The apartment itself couldn't have been cleaner or more generously well stocked. Fab breakfast options, clean and crisp bed linen, soft big bath towels to go with the luxurious bath. Am very much looking forward to returning.
We couldn't find a tea towel - hows that for really bad!
Friendly staff - good local knowledge Good shower Location
Room was not serviced every day. Standard of food at self service breakfast was poor quality although there was plenty of it. Located on a busy main road so if room faces front it is noisy. Mould in shower.
