It was a good sized room. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was litter in the car park. The toilet needed flushing in our room when we arrived.

The staff were friendly and my bed was comfortable. This is budget hotel and if I had paid a budget price I would have been satisfied. However, the night I stayed it was busy everywhere and the man on reception told me they had doubled the price. It was most definately not worth £100 pounds as I have paid this kind of price many times and stayed in lovely, luxury hotels. It was a budget hotel at hugely inflated prices and not worth it at all.

We liked the room it was very clean and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was very good. We would have like more choice of cereals at breakfast there was only coco pops, also a choice of toast would have been nice because there was only white and we prefer brown.

No record of our booking on our arrival - fortuitously there was a room available. This has happened now on our last three visits to the Family Lodge (previously Saxonholme). Management has changed but this feature (Booking.com) seems to be consistently in error.

I liked the fact that the room was big and warm. Also enjoyed the breakfast. Liked that we can order what we wanted. Food was warm and quick. Staff was friendly. Not that I didn't like but they can definitely do with a makeover to the place, a little outdated. Not the cleanest but good enough. Suitable for the price. Didn't like the way the towels smelled, they need to change their detergent.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The staff and location. The room was very cold. And the taps in bathroom didn't work. In my opinion the rooms all need up dating and painting.

Friendly staff........... This hotel is in need of a thorough remodelling...and its going to take a lot of money..The hotel is run by the seat of its pants with no money being spent on the infrastructure..I Believe the hotel is up for sale...altho no sign suggests this....The carpets are filthy and the bedding is questionable...Dont check the corners of the bathroom and keep an open mind....The hotel is very convenient as the 192 bus comes within 5 minutes and goes from Hazel Grove thru Stockport to Manchester...I Have been here twice in the last month (total of 7 days)...because all other accom in Stockport.(11 Hotels were sold out)...I Live 6000 miles away and visit rellies and friends in Stockport......I Like the staff here and they were very nice to me...but please stay here with trepidation ....

Friendly and helpful staff. Not a fancy place, but clean, warm and comfortable. Despite being on a main road, the rooms were quiet and peaceful. No complaints, except perhaps that the main lighting in the room was a bit dim.

It was close by to my business venue. It appeared to be good value on the Internet. The hotel was dirty, and shabby decor. The bathroom was very unpleasant. There were no mattress protectors, the sheet was directly on the mattress which I find rather unhygienic and the bedding appeared unclean and marked. The curtains were of poor quality and the lighting from the restaurant /front of the building lit up the room for most of the night if not all night, which disturbed my sleep. I went to the bar for a drink to look at the restaurant, the drinks were over priced, the restaurant was deserted despite a large number of tables, and the tablecloths were dirty, with stains and waste food on them. We were asked to pay on arrival, prior to seeing the rooms. The breakfast was of poor quality, cheap poor quality food which had obviously been cooked more than once and reheated. I can imagine the kitchen would have most likely been very unclean. the staff don't speak good English so communication was slightly awkward. I would never stay here again, there wasn't anything nice about the hotel or the restaurant, I'm just relieved I didn't get food poisoning or some sort of infection. it was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in, and I didn't feel at all rested for the day ahead, in fact I couldn't wait to get home for a bath! I didn't even feel clean when I came out of the shower, even the towels looked marked. I won't forget it ! Never again, next time I will pay more for a well known hotel chain at least then I can expect half decent quality and cleanliness.
