It was good all round and the staff were very helpful. It was very reasonably priced and the breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay there again.
My stay at the Saxonia was enjoyable from all aspects quality of service location and food were all of a high calibre making it a enjoyable stay
The breakfast was a good size and a fair choice.
The room didn't have a window the shower / toilet was dirty the floor behind the pedestals and in the corner's were awash with hair and dirt that hadn't been cleared from previous occupies in all would never stay there again!
Felt like a home from home it was close to local buses train station and shops it was lovely. The added touch was the roses chocolate put in the room daily perfect stay
Breakfast wasnt to bad thats it.
Said parking 4 spaces we parked then got asked to move it from lady who owned guest house.as we got inside their was a very old dirty smell very old carpet on stairs , we nearly walked back out, was met by a lady who gave us all the rules no welcome , gave us a key room 4 first door on landing , room itself was clean and quiet comfy it had three beds as I had booked but no room to get round, outside was a very busy crossroad so traffic never stopped even a pelican crossing started about 6am then sirens and buses very very busy road.shower was a trickle but towels was good quality and soft , we paid £85 for 1 night but my relatives was in a B/B 1 row back from the sea for 3 people the same right near to everything £75 we had to taxi at extra cost , very dissapointed would never stay again.
Breakfast was fantastic full English was amazing well presented
comfortable bed , not far from centre ground floor room was better for us with suitcase as i am walking disabled
breakfast was ok mushrooms wasnt cooked properly , was offered two different rooms but felt like was talked out of before could look at other room also strange to have room without a window ,also first day on our own first day breakfast 2 nd day then put in with everyone else , seemed a strange couple who were running it without much organization , customer service left a lot to be desired
Location and food were good.
Too much furniture in room. Bathroom needs updating.
Everything was super
The young lady who said goodbye to us (she was workin in the kitchen for Sunday breakfast)- very polite and friendly. The room was a reasonable size for 3 adults. Double glazing was good at shutting out the noise of the road.
The manner of the rest of the staff; it felt like you were an inconvenience to them, particularly the owner. Being made to pay on arrival, haven't had this before at a b&b and we've all stayed at quite a few. Breakfast was average at best. The very strictly worded rulebook in the room! You will NOT have extra guests, you will NOT smoke etc etc. these things are all reasonable requests, they don't need to be quite so stern and repressive!
The guest house was very clean and well managed with friendly staff. Room had everything you could wish for including hot chocolate and soups as well as tea and coffee. Rooms were very clean and breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay again.
Breakfast was great, staff friendly and helpful, Plenty of tea, coffee etc - even chocolates - lovely touch! Beds clean and comfy - would definitely return.
The property was a fair walk from town - could be an issue if not very mobile - but guess a taxi would not be too expensive. Having said that it was peaceful - not too much noise from traffic even with the window open as it was exceptionally warm during our stay.
All of it
Friendly Atmosphere and Rooms Very Comfortable.
Would liked Breakfast to have been an hour instead of half hour duration, but only a minor problem.
Very pleasant stay for two nights. Friendly staff, very polite and respectful. Breakfast included in price. Pretty good all round. No quarms.
The whole experience was an enjoyable event. With helpful friendly staff. I would certainly stay here again .The family room was excellent.
Was a walk ftom the sea front which wasn't that convenientwith young children.
Clean fresh rooms, excellent breakfast and a proper hot shower in the morning - at this price point you can't go wrong
A good 10 min walk to the front but hardly a marathon
Booked at short notice but very accommodating as allowed me to park car there hours before check-in. Short walk to pier and much cheaper than places to stay in sea front.
-wifi connection, some places like travelodge you got to pay an additional fee for, or other places its only available in certain areas. -the owners really intent on helping the holidaymaker there. You got an array of leaflets, and you got a nice folder in the room which tells you of local places. -like it's focus on being environmentally friendly. It doesn't need to do that.
-I maybe regret not choosing a place on the seafront but that was my fault. -It was a bit hot and stuffy in the bed at night. Didn't get best night's sleep. But there was a fan there, that I didn't use.
Clean and tidy, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Location was ok but not great, bit of a walk to town.
room was clean and well equipped, excellent breakfast
room at front on main road so very noisy, was asked to pay for room as soon as we arrived
Breakfast was great staff were friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff. Excellent bed
Location Very good Wi-Fi Obvious efforts made to update and improve what is essentially an old building
Bathroom very cramped It is a typical 60s? B&B but efforts have been made to update
