Staff, very helpful and friendly G Great food but needs more imagination for vegetarians. Two choices only over two days (same) no good for longer stay!

    Could do with new pillows

Better Internet. WiFi only available on a very limited basis and since there is no mobile signal in the area this is a pain.

Hotel was lovely, location very good picturesque , very nice breakfast.

Would have been nice to eat a evening meal in the hotel restaurant without it being set price with lots of courses, not every one wants to eat that amount of food or pay that much money!

The location in Borrowdale valley is excellent for exploring the Northern Lakes. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Arrived Thursday afternoon, but the room wasn't cleaned after Thursday night until we complained after 5pm on Friday and then one of the 2 glasses in the bathroom wasn't washed and the bottles of carbonated water in the bedroom weren't replenished.

    - Beautiful area and scenery - The breakfast!!! So tasty. - The BEAUTIFUL bed and bedding - The classy, gorgeous bathroom The whole atmosphere of the hotel is wonderful, genuinely would stay here again. I wish I lived closer so I could come here all the time. Thank you to everyone at the Scafell Hotel

    - A petty thing... The WIFI only being accessible in the lobby. I had to come downstairs at night to check if my baby was okay with childminder. It wouldn't be a problem if I didn't need to contact home. - The room was a little small. Tripped over the edge of the bed twice! :) - Another petty thing. Settled at night to watch some TV and the picture was pretty bad; as in the aerial was broken. Plus, NO freeview :( only terrestrial channels. How weird? Wasn't a major thing as it's not all about watching tv but why have it there if the signals bad. Really nothing major!

The food in the restaurant was very good as were the staff. They were very friendly & helpful and improved the stay. The location was lovely.

There was a laundry on the same floor as our room which we had to pass. The door was open & the smell seemed to travel down corridors. There was a strong smell in our room. Decor in room was dark & lots of outside noise from a generator or the laundry? Lots of seating outside but floor around them covered in cigarettes which I found very unpleasant.

Excellent starting point for many walks. A nice quiet location but easy to get to Keswick. Food was excellent and staff very helpful.

Room was a bit dark and as a dog friendly hotel there was an odour of wet dog in the room.

Location! Friendly staff! Good quality breakfast! Excellent food in Riverside Bar!

Family room was dark, damp, musty, dated and freezing with 2 spiders and a centipede in the bath! Cold stone flooring, brrr :-/ Shower was rubbish and dangerous as temp was not controlled, only by mixing taps!! TV was disappointing, small and no tv guide to view whats on? Moved to double room with camp bed for 13 yr old, very uncomfy, she was nearly touching floor, room like a sauna as weather was great, didnt get windows open properly until late in day and no fan available for room?! No wifi picked up in public areas (seemingly comprises of a little sitting room next to reception??) The full 2 nights rate of £360 was taken before we even arrived as they thought we might not show as had enquired about cancelling earlier in day as car broke down...naughty!!
