Basic accommodation and nowhere to go apart from the bar
Staff, lovely big rooms, great value for money, good food
Food Excellent lovely Dinner Breakfast Superb room excellent Staff excellent what more can I say except Thank You see you soon
Great room and bathroom. Superb. Friendly staff. Lovely setting. Good location, short journey to motorway.
Breakfast did not match the quality of the room. Better to promote organic local eggs, locally made sausages, wider choice of breads (eg rye for gluten free). Tea weak and coffee not good quality. Cheap orange juice. Depressing breakfast room. Am loath to recommend because of this. Would be glad to recommend every other aspect of the hotel.
Spacious room in Victorian hotel mostly hidden from the main road by trees. Good breakfast and interested staff made us feel welcome.
It was quiet and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Really good food at dinner and breakfast.
Poor selection of wines.
Staff and management v friendly and helpful. Stayed to attend relatives funeral and kindly let us change and leave in cases before check in time.
This is an elegant hotel, comfortably and elegantly furnished withgood parking. The food is adequate and the staff courteous and helpful. Its a good stop-over location. We will visit it again
Its rather too near a caravan park which is more obvious in winter when trees are bare. The dining room is rather functional rather than elegant but other rooms in the hotel are very comfortable and elegantly furnished.
Staff was great. Breakfast and room were brilliant and very good value for money
shower: water was not warm enough
Tasteful quality furnishing. Excellent service from all the staff. A relaxed and peaceful environment. Loved the quiet and tranquillity.
TV remote didn t work. Breakfast selection was limited- as I am vegetarian. A selection of croissants, cheese or fruit salad would be appreciated.
Friendly staff, good location, plenty of parking.
Noisy road, .
Good sized room, comfy bed, good breakfast and a great location for exploring Lancashire and Yorkshire.
I'm a vegetarian and there weren't many main course options for me in the restaurant.
Mattress could have been a little more comfortable but overall fine.
Great breakfast, staff very good. Charming hotel in a beautiful location.
Comfortable and very good access from M6 at Lancaster. In lovely area with good walking. Pleasant helpful staff
Didn't realise there was a wedding party booked in, so disco noise until midnight-but didn't drown out the TV!
Unfortunately the bathroom floor was laminate and we found it to be quite hazardous, it was very slippery when wet.
We stayed here on our way up to Scotland and had a really enjoyable stay. The house has a lot of character, we loved the big spacious bedroom which was perfect for our family. The decor on the stairway was very nice, it would also be perfect for the bedrooms. Everything was clean and staff were very friendly. Would sure come back when we'd be in the aeria again.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful
No fruit option for breakfast.
Wi fi, quiet, won't have to stay there again, only stayed 1 night.
No lift, no room service, bathroom layout ,no air conditioning, you can't eat after 830, table in room very ricarty , smelled a bit damp, car park covering ruins your shoes, don't take American Express and don't admit it. Over priced
Staff were very willing to arrange a later breakfast time for us and that they reopens the bar so that we could enjoy a drink.
We stayed here 1 night on our way to the Lake District - really helpful and friendly staff and nice room. Hotel is off the main road so nice and quiet. Decided to have a couple of drinks in the bar and eat here also - good food at good prices. Would definitelt recommend
location and convenience
decor a bit tired
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving me lots of advice and tips on the local area, including good spots to walk the dog
Nice old hotel
A little understaffed
Quiet, friendly hotel.
