Friendly owner Great local knowledge and very informative. Better than travel information centres. You will never find a better place to stay..
Very good location
We stayed in room 1 which was next to the heating boiler which we could hear firing up quite a lot. The on suite was rather small and compact. We thought we had booked B&B as the title suggest but only got room only. Not very clean on the booking process.
Looks stylish very friendly owners. The bedroom was lovely and warm. The breakfast was set up lovely and very tasty
This was my second stay at Scotia House as I take part in a Christmas Fair at nearby Ripley Castle. As previously the hosts were charming and provided everything I needed including a lovely Yorkshire breakfast each morning. The bathroom was spotless with lovely fluffy towels.
Beautifully appointed elegant room. Central occasion. Friendly and accommodating.
Excellent value for money. Accommodation lovely, great service, good food, and a fantastic location for conference centre. Lots of thoughtful extras, the nicest place I have stayed in Harrogate. Highly recommended!
everything! I really appreciated all the extra touches from dressing gown to sweeties to hot water bottle. Scotia house is beautifully but comfortably furnished .It is also spotlessly shiningly clean. Breakfast is great with a particularly amazing selection of fruit and a very tasty hot breakfast. The location was perfect as it is literally opposite the conference centre which I was attending, but Scotia House is so good I hope to return with my husband for a leisure trip as it is just a few minutes walk to the town centre.
nothing to dislike
I had a very comfortable stay at Scotia house last week. It was in a perfect localtion, right opposite the HIC and within walking distance of the centre of Harrogate. The house is stunning and immaculate. The room I stayed in was lovely and spacious with plenty of thick fluffy towels and lovely complimentary toiletries. Also had thick soft dressing gowns. It felt more like a 4 star hotel!. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and plenty of it!!. I throughly reccomend a stay here, in fact if I came back to Harrogate I'd stay here again!
Nothing I didnt like!
After a long foggy journey from the Midlands, we were treated to a warm welcome with the words "would you like a coffee before going to the Christmas Fair?" That set the tone for our stay at Scotia House. It's location is excellent, an easy stroll to good restaurants and the town centre. We enjoyed our brief stay so much that we plan a return visit in order to explore Harrogate and enjoy the comforts of Scotia House.
Very conveniently located just opposite the entrance to the Harrogate International Centre. Easy to walk to the shops and restaurants. A very comfortable stay. Warm and comfortable surroundings. Very well maintained. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of choice. Highly recommended.
I got a parking ticket. Parking permits are required for parking on Alexander Road which is absolutely fine and very convenient but make sure you fill them out perfectly correctly otherwise you'll get a parking ticket as I did. I am hoping mine will be reversed.
Lovely room, nicely decorated. Exceptional breakfast. Very friendly hosts. Great location.
Sofa-bed not very comfy, I am told the main kingsize bed was very comfortable. There was a distinct tobacco smoke smell drifting through the room intermittently which I suspect was coming from the hosts living quarters. As a non-smoker this was very unpleasant.
Excellent location for restaurants, shops and the conference centre . Staff were all friendly and helpful - tea and cake on arrival and recommendations for wonderful restaurants.Hot breakfast cooked to order and full range of fresh fruits, cereals etc - top quality
Scotia House is an exceptional B & B. Marie the landlady is very friendly and she even offered to iron our trousers for us which we never expected. Beds were comfy, wifi reception was great in our room on the top floor, location for the International centre is excellent as it is lterally on the doorstep over the road, breakfast was lovely and fresh, , and above all the place is spotlessly clean without being OTT. Recommended without a doubt and we will be back again next time we visit Harrogate.
What is there not to like?
The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We were greeted with fresh coffee and tea, while she took our bags to our room. She booked us into a lovely restaurant and told us how to get to the shopping area. The room was immaculately clean, if a little compact (twin room).
Great location, friendly staff and beautifully decorated and comfortable B & B. Couldn't have asked for more. Great toiletries and things in the room for your comfort, Would recommend and definitely stay there again
Good value for money high recommendations
Location, free parking, very friendly and efficient staff, warm and clean, very good choice at breakfast. Overall EXCELLENT would highly recommend.
Friendly, nothing was to much trouble.
Nice new furniture and carpets, very clean. Friendly and helpful owner.
What was there not to like even down to chocolates on the bed with a love hot water bottle for those cold nights Marie and he hubby were perfect host making you feel welcome beds were comfy towels fluffy the breakfast was fit for a king will definatly be going back 10/10
So many thoughtful extras here that make the stay seem special
Friendly Staff, Fabulous decor, Cleanliness, Breakfast
Didn't have a long enough stay!
Staff were friendly without feeling invasive. Room was clean, smart and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and they even opened earlier to accommodate me.
Room was cosy for 1, but classed as a small double, would have felt too small for more than 1 resident. Free wifi was offered, but signal was too weak to use in my room.
The added extra's such as the bathrobe, facial wipes, hot water bottle and the bar of chocolate made a great difference and was unexpected.
Nothing, all was lovely.
