I could hear other residents snoring at night and water travelling down pipes from other bathrooms ie poor soundproofing

Beautiful location, very helpful and friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. Both restaurant and bar food was good value for money and excellent.

Nothing, I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to others.

Very poor maintenance of rooms. The window frames were rotten and there was black grime all around them. Water was seeping in so a towel was placed on the window sill and they offered to change it when it got too wet! Way overpriced.

Good location for visiting the Thursford Christmas show. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would be a lovely location in nice weather.

Fantastic location at the top end of the Wensum Valley, Sculthorpe Mill offers a charming get-away-from-it all location, just outside of Fakenham. The rooms all have a view of the fast-flowing river and if you open the window you are greeted with pretty views of the Norfolk countryside and the sound of the river tumbling through the mill. Breakfast was filling and tasty, as was our evening meal and the comfy bed ensured a restful night's sleep. Highly recommended. Would definitely consider coming back in the summer!

Staff, helpful, friendly and very welcoming. Beautiful location, room was lovely, plenty of space and bathroom was immaculate with everything you wanted. Coffee and tea tray with plenty of everything. We had a meal on the evening we arrived and it was really good and beautifully presented, as was the breakfast in the morning.

The plastic mattress cover, It made you sweat, took it off halfway through the night. Owner said they are now compulsory by law.

Everything seemed to be rushed. We got back from a Saturday evening show at 10.50 pm but the bar in the hotel shut 10 minutes later at 11 pm (bar man was nice though) but by 11.15 pm we were being told by the manager that the doors were going to be locked by 11.30 and therefore the two in our party who smoke could not have a smoke after that time as we could not get out of the building. If we weren't down and ordered our breakfast on the sunday by 9.25 it was said that only toast would be available. This was the third hotel we stayed in on our trip and cost with 4 sandwiches on arrival over £300 for one night. It was the least welcoming & the most expensive

The attractive building and location. Also it was convenient for four purpose. Staff friendly and helpful.

Thought it over priced compared to similar places. No bedside table on one side of bed and no light on that side. No soap in bathroom. Television very small for price.

The quietness meant we slept very well. The location was pretty, with walks nearby and Highland cattle in the adjoining field. The staff were friendly and efficient. The beer was well kept and the food was enjoyable; breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed short conversations with other guests, who were interesting and pleasant. It was a good location as a base for exploring North Norfolk. The gardens were attractive and well maintained, which encouraged us to think of coming again in the summer next year, when the evenings are longer.

The paintwork on the outside of the window frame of our bedroom (4) was in an advanced state of decomposition and the window will soon be going the same way. Its a shame that routine maintenance is being neglected by the owners and suggests they will not be keeping the place open for long.
