position on the river, and the cosy feel with the fire in the drawing room bathroom could maybe do with some new replacement of tiles |

This was our third visit to the Hotel however with this booking, the room preference in the comment box had been taken into consideration and we had a delightful double room with a four poster and a riverside view without additional charge. This made for a very romantic and pleasant stay. Very limited parking facilities |

Location of hotel excellent - plus bar and dining room were charming and food was good. Our room (23) had rattly, single glazed windows and because we endured a very windy night on 17th Nov, we got little sleep due to the noise from the rattling windows. |

I ended up checking out within two hours. First room offered was dreadful -- ultimately moved to another one -- but had to pay additional 20 UKPD. Wireless connection was so poor, I could not participate in business web call -- I was connected to the outside service provider who said he might be able to get there in a couple of days to fix the connection! Reception manager was surly (she actually wanted to charge me 54p for the phone call from the internet service technician.) Receptionist and concierge were very considerate and tried to make the best of an unsatisfactory situation. |

The refurbished room in the annexe was more appealing. The older part of the hotel - rooms smelt fusty. We asked to be moved. Lack of swimming pool down-graded spa facilities. |

We were made very welcome by the fantastically helpful staff. Our room was supremely comfortable and the rest of the hotel is very atmospheric. Great location, too, by the river, with a wide selection of excellent restaurants nearby. Only five minutes walk to the centre of Windsor and a visit to the castle. |

Attentive and friendly staff. The noise at night (02:00 AM) from the corner Kebab shop, maybe the windows should be double glazed. |

The amazing history; a wonderful old, slightly shabby (not a fault - it is real!!!) beautiful building; overlooking the castle; lovely staff; good food; value for money and shops...what more could you want for a short break. The room was very hot, and a little stuffy.BUT It was well furnished and clean |

Lovely comfy lounge/bar. Although I slept well in a room at the back of the hotel, unfortunately my friends who were all situated at the front of the hotel were kept awake by people making noise (post-pub/club) until the very early hours of the morning. Obviously the hotel can't avoid this problem, but if someone reads this, ask for a room at the back of the hotel. |

enjoyed our 1 night stay in this fabulous ancient building ... Thought the breakfast was a little expensive and the service in the dining room was terrible ... We arrived for breakfast at 10 o clock and breakfast was being served till 1030... No tables available mostly due to guests which was fine but in the annaxe there was 5 tables empty but full of dirty plates and more ... We eventually got our table but there was no sugar, no butter, no teaspoon, no milk we had to keep asking for items we needed we found this quite frustrating....There seemed to be plenty of staff but doing very little. Would recommend this hotel without the breakfast. |

The second room we moved to was large and comfortable, fantastic bathroom with huge tub and shower like niagra falls!. Good location for exploring windsor and eaton. Staff welcoming and pleasant. First room was awful but we were quickly moved when I complained. Nice hotel if you get a good room. Travelling with my mum we booked a twin room - never book a twin at this hotel, the room was oppressive and straight out of 1970!, with peeling wallpaper and doors that didnt close, and a view of the ventillation system. However we were promptly moved but it meant having a double instead, as twin rooms all seem same standard as the first. Cleanliness could be improved, limescale encrusted taps and dirty grout. |

I liked the ease of getting around Windsor from the hotel, the close proximity to all of the sights, shops, restaurants and events. |

The staff were efficient and the location was excellent. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, and again the service was good. The vegetarian food on offer at the restaurant was not good, and the bed in the room was uncomfortable. |
