You can speak with somebody called the duty manager. Sadly, she's too junior. To understand the problem, much less to act on it. Will she escalate ? My stay was horrebly. I was assigned room 410 which is a balcony to the back of the annex. Just near where the disco music comes from until very early hours of the morning. The hotel management is aware of the noise, they still put customers there, regardless that with the noise the room is unfit for purpose, as per the current law. When `I got into the room, rebuilt as vanilla three start hotel anywhere else in the world, with no charn, no character, I found a pre-emptive letter stating the hotel had changed ownership, and was under renovations in order not to loose the 4 stars they once got, in ye old good years, where it was a reputable establishment. I could have stayed in a better room, in a more character hotel for half the money anywhere in eaton (just across the bridge), or in the travelodge if that was the kind of hotel I would have wanted. The Wren now looks like a travelodge, no character. For the record, I payed with my amex under protest.

We were very disappointed in our room upon arrival at the hotel, there were stains on the carpet, stains on the wall, cobwebs on the walls, the shower was very poor and the headboard was loose from the bed so sleep was out of the question. We did complain and we did receive a complimentary breakfast which was very nice and a move to an executive suite however another guest was given the same key as ours and just walked into our room at about 5pm which was totally unacceptable. Also other guests were making a lot of noise, swapping rooms and ordering room service at 4am in the morning so we had another sleepless night. Overall we did not have a very good experience of staying at your hotel and would not recommend anyone else staying there. We do appreciate that the hotel is being modernised but this should have been mentioned in your web site as our room was very basic for what we paid and not what was shown in your web site

Great restaurant Didn't like being put in the annex across the street. Uncovers walkways meant walking in heavy rain with luggage. Also did not like having to pay ten quid to park in the hotel parking lot.

Great location. Very nice lobby. Easy and quick check-out. Single bed. Old tv (apparently they are upgrading their system.) Room was very cold. No fridge. Old carpet in the room. It was a real labyrinth to reach the room (2-3 stairs and then another 2-3 stairs).

The historical architecture and comfort. It is located very close to the castle and the river. Clean and comfortable. Tiny car park with daily charge not aware of. The double room was two zipped together singles which we found uncomfortable and the pillows were hard.

Location and one member of Staff! This was my third visit and my last! Again the unrefurbished rooms are very disappointing. They really need to accept they are poor quality and the services do not work correctly. The hotel should have two price policies depending on the rooms and when they are completed updating the older rooms.

Location We where not told the location of the room was over the road from the main building and that we would be opposite a late night Pub/disco which closed at about 3.30 am. No hot water in the morning could. Not shower staff where not very attentive very dissapointed.

The main hotel looked nice, the breakfast was delivered on time. We didn't stay in the main hotel and had a room that was very dated. We also had a very disturbed sleep as the window's were making so much noise and the front door to the hotel kept being slammed shut. So much for a relaxing night away from the children!

The Hotel was near the Castle and looked smart from the exteria (see notes on dislikes). The view fro the dining room was of the river. We booked an Excecutive Room. The hotel was under refurbishment but never the less, there was no excuse for dirty rooms (I veiwed 2 after asking to move rooms) that had badly stained covers and cushions on beds. The carpets had not been vacumed for weeks and the rooms were both damp and very cold. We had to settle for room 43 that was directly adjacent to the main walkway and the public were right outside our windows, some lads sitting on our window edge for over an hour until 4am in the morning eating curry and I had to ask reception to see what they could do to move them on. Our door has a gaping hole at the bottom (and the outer door which opened directly onto the street next to our room ) the same. I had to plug the gap with a bath towel to stop both the draft and the possibility of vermin getting in! We paid nearly £250 for 2 nights and there was no access to parking other than blocked in by the dustbins and only the porters could remove car. My husband has difficulty walking up stairs and we had 4 flights of stairs and 5 doors to contend with to get to room 43 only to find that we were at the back of hotel in a what appeared to be a converted room with a flat roof above the kitchens. Dirty linen remained in bags along the corridoors over night. I would not recomend this hotel.

Very convenient location to Windsor, next to River Thames. Booked parking space which worked well. Staff very attentive. Fabulous breakfast. Room comfortable, warm, well equipped if a little dated. Spa only consists of a jacuzzi and sauna - a little disappointing. There is a gym also and treatments can be booked.

Wonderful location on the Thames and only a short stroll from Windsor castle. Helpful and courteous staff. Nicely furnished and tasteful rooms - ours overlooked the hotels grounds and river. On site parking available for a fee. Wife and I enjoyed our two night stay and plan on returning soon.

Location - next to Windsor Castle, next to Eton Riverside Train Station. Walking distance to shops and Windsor Great Park. Cannot fault value for money, location and the amenities in the refurbished section of the hotel is 5* Rooms in the main part of the hotel including the reception and main restaurant is looking tired and shabby. Rooms have very thin walls so the early risers and those checking out early can be well heard of. No sound proofing.

“Personnellement, j'ai beaucoup apprécié l'architecture de l'hôtel, le fait qu'il soit un château, sa structure et ses dimensions avec ses grands espaces et nombreuses pièces. J'ai également apprécié le côté ancien, le style gothique et de maison de campagne, le jardin. Le personnel était très, très gentil et disponible, j'en garde un excellent souvenir !! La chambre était grande, propre et décorée avec goût, le petit-déjeuner était bon et copieux.” Emanuela, Lausanne |
