The 1790 hotel has a beautiful facade and the interiors, even if antique, have been carefully decorated.
The room was cozy and the bathroom had a proper bath.
In the room we found tea, hot chocolate and coffee, and some biscuits, a very nice touch. They also provided us with towels and bathrobes, shampoo, and body cream, which was very helpful, because I left mine at home.
The breakfast is in a very nice room with a bay window and is very very good: there is a good choice (English breakfast, hot croissants, scrambled eggs, ...).
The position is excellent: just 5 minutes walking from the pier and the city centre, and very close to Beachy head, too (app. 30 minutes by bike).
The owner and the staff are very nice and friendly, and very helpful: they let us keep the bikes in the tea garden, which is closed at night, so very secure.
It has been a very nice experience.
Unfortunately there are not a lot of free parking spaces in front of the hotel, but this is not their fault.
