The room was spacious, well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The staff made me feel really welcome and the whole place was spotless.
The only problem was mobile access on EE...but the free easy access to wifi allowed me to keep intouch with home...no other negatives at all.
Location, staff, restaurant and ambience
I stayed two nights and loved every second of my time there; great people, great food and a great atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough. Al x
Everything! We have stayed there three times over the past few years for a week at a time. It is one of our most favourite places. The husband and wife team who run it are very friendly and knowledgable. Great food and lovely pub atmosphere. Excellent en-suite rooms.
Bar is a little dreary
Food and location were great enhanced by the beer festival at the station
The bed was small and uncomfortable
All of it ....

The Sea Trout Inn was my 60th birthday present from my children and they chose very well! The evening meal we had was well presented and tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The garden was very relaxing to sit in if you wanted some fresh air and sit in the sun.
The only couple of negatives was A) The bathroom door & extractor fan had obviously been overlooked for some time as there was an awful lot of dust on the inside of the door and the fan also needed a good clean. B) The breakfasts need to be consistent as my partner & I both had poached egg on toast on two days... on one we had 2 eggs and the toast was properly toasted and on the other day we got one egg and my partners toast was totally white! Didn't have time to wait for a 2nd breakfast, so put up with it.
Nice rooms, excellent food, great location for exploring the surrounding area.
Landlady and waitresses were great and so welcoming to our labrador. He was even allowed down to breakfast albeit in a differ ent room to everyone else. Room great, bed large and comfy. Dinner excellent. Quiet pretty locationm
Staff seemed overstretched at times. Breakfast great but sausages very small.
Although a bit off the beaten track The Sea Trout was easily accessible and in a quiet and charming location. We were made welcome by friendly staff. The food was extremely good and service excellent.
Stairs to rooms a bit tired and dodgy. TV could do with being a bit bigger. Apart from room no lounge to sit if weather poor.
Friendly people and staff and atmosphere of the inn.
No dislikes at all
The food. The friendliness of the staff
The lack of a shelf in the shower , plus a mat in the bath.
The staff were friendly the location was rest for my trip and the restaurant ad staff were lovely. The rates were also really really good
Nothing I did not like
The fab food. Pet Friendly . Staff and fab service. Accomodation Value for money.
Friendly and welcoming staff, good food and excellent room.
My wife was a bit peeved the smoked haddock she ordered from the breakfast menu was not available. Coffee making can be taken up a few notches.
Friendly staff Good quality accommodation Well located
Food quality was good
Quiet in the evening, first night the only guests.
Warm, friendly owners and staff. Great food.
Friendly, flexible service from the staff Lovely breakfast, comfortable room
Breakfast finished too early (9:30 on Sunday, 9:15 on other days)
Primarily the location. Also the steam trains nearby!
Friendly service and good quality freshly cooked food. Comfortable room
It would have been good to have a relaxing area for residents to sit other than the bar
Staff were exceptionally friendly and room was spotless ; bed was arguably the most comfortable I have ever encountered in a hotel ; fantastic location also and so quiet and relaxing ; this is a FANTASTIC off the beaten track hotel
A pint of cider was £ 3.95 which is a bit OTT but I still enjoyed it
Comfy bed, great shower, delicious evening meal and lovely breakfast.
The TV needs updating, does not have alarm facility and channel function was slow
