Staff and service were excellent Restaurant and facilities were excellent. Location is superb very close to beach and nature reserve Room was excellent with great sea views we really enjoyed the stay and will use the hotel again
This hotel was warm and comfortable. It was excellent value with breakfast included. Tea and coffee, and towels replaced each day. Restaurant meals very good. Any problems were dealt with promptly. Staff friendly and helpful. I was loaned a hairdryer, free of charge when mine broke. I would definitely go back again.
I would like to see more information in the rooms, ie cost of any extras including telephone calls, bus and train timetable, and events calendar in the hotel and surrounding area.
Everything especially the location and the Texas titan burger was amazing!!
Bed was a little too soft but that was our only negative
Nice location, flexible staff, comfy room, good food and drinks selection. Plentyful parking space
The stay was for 3 days. We were there to visit family in the area and to attend a christening. The buffet that was put on was excellent and there was plenty for everyone. Great day, would definitely recommend to others having a doo.
Most staff were very good, just the odd ones who didn't seem to know what the hotel had to offer ie - optional breakfast requests. An evening meal if you didn't come on a coach trip.
Food. Room decor atmosphere clientele service everything
Bar with no beer to speak of Bar area tatty and in dire need of a refurb Breakfast absolutely appalling. An insult to your guest to serve such poor quality items. The black pudding defies description, sausages not even value range etc etc
Place is like a rabbit warren, Kept forgetting the route to my room. Big selection for breakfast but non of the cooked food was very palatable at all. Big unwelcoming bar. Tv kept resetting itself and no sound on certain channels.
Friendly, bright, helpful staff
Wifi only available by reception

Chilly in late arvo in bar
Hotel was next to the sea. The food was excellent, staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Décor out dated but its going to be refurbished.
Bed uncomfortable. In spite of being issued with a special Pass for meals the hotel is obviously interested mainly in catering for coach parties, because after the first day the "special" menu failed to make an appearance. Fire alarm went off one night and there were no instructions in the room as to procedure. On checking with reception told the alarm was sorted, and that we had been told on the coach that there were no Fire Alarm instructions in the room ! What coach ??? Toilet seat damaged. No towel rail. Shower Head loose. Notice to say leave used towels in bath for replacement - Didn't happen. Light switch in bathroom intermittently faulty. Television set temperamental.
In a great location seaview out of window warm room
wifi connection didn't work in room. room clean but décor and bathroom in need of update shower very poor
Comfy beds, clean room, friendly helpful staff. The breakfast was included in the price, I must say it was excellent and I believe they should charge extra for it!
Dawn was a real help.
Difficulty in moving around on mobility scooter.
Very friendly staff,very good food
Bar and lounge area dated and was neither acomfortable place to relax or an intimate place to eat, fell between the stools!!!
Nice enough hotel
I only booked in because it said wi-fi in every room. If you moved away from the reception you lost the signal, and we were on the 4th floor.
The rooms do need to be in proved but I know that that you will be doing them soon but we still had a lovely stay.
The location of the hotel
Very tired dated hotel, freezing cold no heating in the room apart from a little electric heater on the wall - which only seemed to be powered at certain times. Bathroom dirty with mould on the walls, couldn't get the shower to work until the 2nd day !! Room smelt musty - I could go on the list is endless has to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed in.
Cosy, clean, warm bedroom, comfy bed, wonderful views. Helpful staff. Evening entertainment. Food served both in the restuarant and the bar lounge gives a wide time range to eat in. We will be booking again to have a better look around the area as we only stayed one night this time.
Shower wasn't working, but not a disaster as there was a bath too. Little tired looking, but they did say they are going to be refurbishing.
The location is stunning and some of the staff were very good. Free parking.
It was tired, unclean. They do not clean the bedroom walls, they seem to paint them 1 coat of cheap paint which shows the stains through the paint. Coach parties take reference as i found out. I arrived at 2pm, the bar was closed until the coach party got back in at 4pm!! I awaited 6pm to have something to eat and was told to wait until the coach party had finished and then i could go in!! Furious was not the word i would have used. I was told to walk into the town of St.Bees in the dark down country roads (15 minutes) to get myself something to eat from a beautiful hotel in the village. I wish i had stayed there. The bathroom had rubber shower mats with suckers on from the 1930's to prevent slipping. the heating only came on in my room when the coach party arrived back from their day out?? Unbelievable.. When i use the word Coach Party, i was indicating under 125 years old. I would never return to this ramshackle hotel..This is the worst on Booking.com i have used and i have travelled to Venice, Greece and the UK.. Zero points. I paid £52 for a room and the priority went to the pensioners paying £22 per night.. Diabolical.
It was close to the beach
Food, facilities, state of bathroom, shabby, dusty and dirty, not cleaned fully...
Location and friendly greeting.
The bar in the evening was so bad it was almost funny.
Poor television reception Very poor wifi
The location is superb, sea view was nice.
The bed was horrific, the room was dirty, marks on everything apart from the bed clothes. Not the fault of the cleaner who had seemingly done their best, but the room was just grubby. Even for the price of £60 it wasn't worth it. And me and my girlfriend aren't pampered princesses. We just don't appreciate spending money on something so poor.
