Proximity to the beach Hotel staff very helpful Lounge area
Room quite small
Everyone was so very helpful
The room was a little on the small side.
Very welcoming.. Pet friendly Friendly staff Can't fault anything.. Just perfect. Will definitely be back
Nothing at all negative to say
Dinner was fantastic. Really tasty and value for money.Room was nice and warm and en suite shower really nice.
Double sea view room directly outside lift which was a bit noisy with people coming and going when trying to sleep. Breakfast portions could have been much bigger. breakfast room freezing cold but had a log fire. I think they needed to light it a couple hours before breakfast begins so the room is nice and warm for guests. No soap dispenser or toilet brush in bathroom. No ice machine have to keep asking staff for ice which meant they had to go downstairs into the basement.
The room is out dated. Needs decorated. Poo down toilet. When I arrived. Plus shower didn't work no hot water.so wasn't happy. Right next to the lift so no sleep all night.
We stayed in the Family room overlooking the sea, it was beautiful. Considering we were on the main road it was very quiet. Hotel is close to the town centre and many pubs and restaurants. Staff are lovely and helpful. The breakfast was scrummy! Nothing was too much trouble.
It was all fabulous
Staff lovely breakfast very good, dinning room clean & bright
Builders in sanding down doors & stair rail, noise on last day started before 9am their was dust everywhere which we had to walk through to get to dinning room & leaving the hotel. We Hi feeling the same Dave,s mum went to church to light a candle and said a pray as did the canon of Bangor Cathedral for dad today at 11.30am this morning hope it happened today. Any news today xxxcomplained to staff who just said sorry saying she was not aware that the builders had started
Friendly staff, great location, lovely dining room and very good breakfast. Heating good.
Very thin duvet on bed and small bedroom and bathroom for a standard double, bit pricey. Tired décor in hall and stairs, needs updating in this area.
A good standard of room and efficient staff.
Corridors and bedroom doors were very worn and gave the impression the rooms might be a disappointment - which they weren't.
We appreciated a warm welcome with lots of good advice on where to park and have a meal. The staff in the breakfast room were also very welcoming and gave me lots of gluten free options which was totally unexpected. We had a wonderful breakfast and felt spoilt by the attention. There was tea and coffee and hot chocolate in the room along with bottled water. Definitely made to feel like a valued guest.
The shower pressure isn't great.
Staff were excellent. .clean and quiet. A relaxing break.
Great hotel, very clean room with sea view and welcoming staff. Will definitely book again.
Nothing - no complaints at all.
View of the sea from my room. Really nice staff.
My Mom and I had single beds which were quite narrow. Bathroom was small but well presented. Restaurant was in basement which only accessible via stairwell. This is really awkward for those clients who have walking disabilities. The rear car park is free, however, it is not easily identified. I had to call the hotel to find it as there is a white wooden beam on top of the gate. Food was good although not very extensive as hotel is small. Some carpets need replacing.
Fabulous, friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast!
The view of HMS Daring entering harbour as we arrived.
The menu was too ambitious as our first choice of main course and first choice of wine was not available.
Very friendly staff. Food very good with an excellent choice for both breakfast and dinner. Hotel was clean throughout.
staff were lovely, very helpful. Hotel was in a good location. room was fine, not huge but did the job
Room was beautifully decorated as it was recently refurbished. Check in staff was very polite and helpful, as was the breakfast staff. Some will say it's expensive for a deluxe sea view room but as a seasoned traveller I found it excellent value for money when taking into account the excellent service and great views and the general location of the hotel.
We stay there frequently. The views over the seafront and E end of the Solent are excellent. Rock Gardens opposite, just a short walk. Location very good. Helpful staff, good welcome. Best in summer weather (but isn't everywhere!)
Visiting our son at Portsmouth university.Near enough to walk to, and to Gun Wharf Quays, town centre etc.Very welcoming and friendly staff. Hotel very clean, had touch of old world charm, liked it a lot. Breakfast very good. Food well cooked, plenty of tea/ coffee/toast, refills if you wanted them. Good choice of cereals, fruit juice etc. Great location, nice view of Solent from our room. Would stay there again. Plus, we got free room upgrade. Bonus!
Warm, friendly hotel and staff. Breakfast very good with gluten free options for sausage and bread/toast. Parking pass provided for as long as required.
Limited wardrobe space if staying more than a couple of days.
Excellent breakfast Wonderful staff Free parking permit
Great staff, great location very comfy
Room a bit scruffy
The staff were very good The breakfasts were excellent The parking was free with a permit supplied by the hotel
The room was on the small side with only two drawers to put your clothes in.
