Visiting our son at Portsmouth university.Near enough to walk to, and to Gun Wharf Quays, town centre etc.Very welcoming and friendly staff. Hotel very clean, had touch of old world charm, liked it a lot. Breakfast very good. Food well cooked, plenty of tea/ coffee/toast, refills if you wanted them. Good choice of cereals, fruit juice etc. Great location, nice view of Solent from our room. Would stay there again. Plus, we got free room upgrade. Bonus!
Warm, friendly hotel and staff. Breakfast very good with gluten free options for sausage and bread/toast. Parking pass provided for as long as required.
Limited wardrobe space if staying more than a couple of days.
Excellent breakfast Wonderful staff Free parking permit
Great staff, great location very comfy
Room a bit scruffy
The staff were very good The breakfasts were excellent The parking was free with a permit supplied by the hotel
The room was on the small side with only two drawers to put your clothes in.
The hotel was quiet, comfortable, clean and situated centrally. For Southsea, the parking was good.
A lovely historical building with character but also modern and comfortable. The lounge areas are very relaxing.
Wish there was a wider selection of bar snacks and some of the stairwells need some further decoration. Lounges need newspapers.
Great location easy walk to points of interest around town. Room was clean and warm with great view.
We love the views of the Solent from the front bedrooms, particularly the third floor. The excellent breakfast sets you up for sightseeing - particularly around the Dockyard area - and walking along the promenade. The refurbished rooms are very comfortable.
The sea-front location, the price, the safe homely feel, the staff and the owners. There's also a comfortable lounge, a compact bar area, and good food, both at breakfast times and the optional evening meals too.
Not a dis-like, but draughty double-glazing in our room (on this visit) led to a little more road-noise than it should have - simple re-setting of the closure fittings should sort this out. However, we slept and rested very well regardless.
99.99% of the whole experience! Lovely spacious room/bed. Tea/coffee facilities with lots of tea/coffee/milk etc. Two bottles of still water daily. Lovely clean modern shower room. Free Wifi! Breakfast/dining room; good clean modern decor + decent breakfast options. Good Coffee! Smart, polite, well trained staff.Communal parts = smart, welcoming, clean. Looks like someone's smart sitting room! and where you could sit all day if necessary. Lovely park opposite with secluded tropical plants/trees, infront of raised promenade on to beach!
In rear room, window did not open properly. Door lock could not be securely locked to prevent cleaners coming in. Do Not Disturb notice was available, but no where to hang said notice. None of this will deter me staying in this lovely hotel at any time!
Stayed for two nights, everyone at seacrest were lovely very helpful, we stayed in room 7 which was very comfortable!.
Liked the attentiveness and friendliness of all the staff. The hotel is quite small so rooms too are small. Lots of dog walking places opposite hotel. Dogs were allowed in the bar too and made very welcome. Overall a reasonable experience.
Room was very small for the price we paid. The bath was too small for my husband, be warned!
good value for money nice breakfast
parking might at times be a problem
Staff service good Staff very friendly and helpful....
Room is very small and the hotel look like old... It's not good for young coupal.....
Good location overlooking seafront, super bedroom/en-suite, pleasant public rooms.
Parking a bit of a problem during the evening.
Cleanliness and location
Helpful staff could not do enough for you . Bathroom very good Pretty good sea view Breakfast was awesome
A couple of creaky floorboards in room
The Seacrest Hotel was a lovely place to stay , warm and cosy in the lounge with drinks before dinner , delicious meal and very comfy rooms all looked after by happy , smiley , helpful people . We will definitely be going back and highly recommend it .
There was nothing I didn't like .
Wonderful position on sea front with wonderful views across the Solent. Staff very helpful. Owner offered lots of advice with local knowledge of transport etc.and the hotel offered parking tickets for guests. Hotel was warm & very comfortable the menu for breakfast & dinner was very good plus other snacks available. Each meal was well presented. Will look at staying again. The sea front gardens are just steps as are the bus stops to Portsmouth.
Bathroom slightly small but these seafront properties can only be altered within the scope of the building.
Nothing special at all
the beach is a short walk from the hotel and a short drive or taxi ride into town. Taxi was £4.50.
THE STAFF, THE DECOR, CLEANLINESS, FURNISHINGS, GREAT BREAKFAST, COMFY BED, ATTENTION TO DETAIL. FREE WATER IN ROOM WAS THOUGHTFUL. FRIENDLINESS OF ALL THE STAFF, VERY NICE PEOPLE. TOILETRIES REPLACED DAILY. SUCH A NICE HOTEL ALL ROUND.
Location was great Breakfast freshly made to order Staff friendly
