Close proximity to wearing I was attending a training course I have complained to the hotel and to booking.com regarding the cleanliness of my room. The bath and sink were dirty, I had to clean the bath before I used the shower. There was discarded chewing gum stuck to the bedside lamp base. The window sill was filthy. The carpet was stained. The milk provided for tea and coffee has curdled (all four of the miniture pots). I had to cancel my reservation for my second and third nights accommodation as my child was ill so I had to go home. I was charged for the second night (£120) I would like a refund for this night as the hotel room was not worth that money. I booked the 'luxury double room' and it was far from luxury!! It is a 3 star hotel (at a push) and they should charge accordingly. I would be more than happy to discuss this in greater detail should you wish.

Location is great for bus access, seafront and getting to main shopping/food areas, weekday pricing was reasonable, staff is friendly and, when it comes to helping the guests great. I asked when booking, for a "view" and they answered and came through...mind you they don't have views per se but they gave us what they could (top floor overlooking the back garden area) ! I spent a good deal of my early career in the hospitality industry...and I think what makes this Hotel far less than what it should be is the fact that it has all the potential to be great ! It has very nice well thought out features and amenities....the problem is that the property is all but abandoned by it's owner. The manager - Frank does his job very well and all the staff are helpful and friendly but that can't make up for the lack of ongoing care these rooms suffer. Example: sink wouldn't drain, bedside light didn't work, shower holder was broken, shower leaked - a lot, faucet was loose and wiggled wildly when used and when added to the other things that I would over look such as a very dirty carpet, towels are grey, bathrobes are a nice touch but really detract when so grey and stained around the collar, touch up paint needed everywhere…we're talking about many things that would take a matter of minutes to fix…that's what makes it really hard to excuse and understand. I don't see how this hotel in the state it's in could ever be considered "luxury".

Very nice large room in the middle of Hove, which is ten minute bus ride away from bustling Brighton. Good restaurants 2 minute walk away. Excellent breakfast. All hotels in England have soggy mattresses, and this one is no different. Was not a deal killer though.

We booked the last room and we were given a tiny room behind the reception. There wasn't enough room to walk around the bed. The cupboard below the tv is way to big for the room. The shower cubicle was minuscule. The staff was very pleasant. Shame we didn't meet the owners. The room is definitely not worth £110.

Frank was an excellent Manager. He sorted out the parking for my car, escorted me to the room. Very able and extremely polite The shower in the bath was a little on the small size. Otherwise, nothing!

The breakfast was lovely & staff friendly The room was too small, the bed uncomfortable and the room (entry/ground level) stank of mildew where there was a leak in the ceiling from the room above. A real shame as it could have been very nice.

Flexibiblity was great. We were down for our daughter's graduation. The fact that parking was included in the price was fabulous. We asked for an early breakfast at 7;00 and the cook was ready waiting for us (lovely breakfast too), we arrived late but had been given the door code and all relevant information to access Seafield House. Bedrooms had everything we could want. Absolutely lovely having wine and chocolates. Fabulous value for money compared with other places in Brighton. Have stayed here before and will definitely stay again. Finally - Monya was fantastic when I called her to confirm late arrival and request early breakfast - she was friendly, professional, polite, efficient, and totally helpful. The seagulls waking us up at 4 am and then keeping us awake!

we only stayed for 1 night at this lovely hotel, the room was very comfortable with good standard of bedding, great original features in the room, perfectly located to Brighton which is walkable. I had a very warm welcome on arrival which is just what you expect. The breakfast was excellent and could choose exactly what you wanted. I would definately recommend Seafield.

The receptionist was pleasant & helpful when I arrived. Free internet access was available & I was given a car parking space. The breakfast was good. The carpet was very dirty. The towels were grey as were the bathrobes hanging on door. The bed was none too clean with a lumby mattress. The glass shelf above the basin which was in the bedroom fell off the wall when I placed my glasses on it. This could have caused an accident had I not managed to catch it.quickly. I booked for 2 nights but stayed for 1. No recompense was offered for the dangerous situation with the glass shelf.

The cooked breakfast was good as it was cooked to order. But the rest of the breakfast was poor. If they are going to charge hotel prices then they need to give hotel service. The bathroom was not cleaned during our stay.

Very good, 8.5

“The view across the Marina to the sea was excellent. It was also very close to a number of retaurants - although most were chain restaurants. The noise from "revellers" was also a lot less than regularly experienced when staying in Brighton itself. Service and food quality were both excellent - staff were attentive. Car parking was free of charge in the Marina multi story car park- this is a £50 saving compared to central Brighton hotels.” Barry, Ashby De La Zouch |
