the food, it was fresh and tasty and a good choice. the decor in the rooms is very dated considering the room rate charged. I believe the hotel takes advantage of the limited choice of hotels at this island location. |

The restaurant was first rate. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was superb. While the staff were friendly and helpful- overall the hotel is tired looking. There are areas that have bee upgraded e.g. the Eleven Restaurant but other areas such as the Resident's Lounge are fairly crappy in appearance. The room rate of £112 was too expensive for this standard of hotel. We would recommend this hotel only if the rate was reduced, we did not read any reviews before booking. |

Reception and staff generally were friendly and helpful; good breakfast; close to bus/ferry terminal. Because of my itinery and the ferry schedule, I could only stay one night; I will be looking to return for longer next time. |

not a lot (continued from next question, the top mats on the beds in rooms that guests had vacated were immediately put back onto the beds as the room was being made up for the next guests (where is the hygiene aspect in this) the breakfasts were appalling the food appeared to have been cooked hours in advance of the restaurant opening hours. The bathroom was dirty. The beds squeaked on the first night and had we not complained would not have been changed the wall lights were loose and on the first night one actually fell on my head again they would not have been reapaired if we had not complained |

Far too expensive considering there are very few guest facilites - even the room tv didn't have remote control. There's no room service available. The high room rate would suggest something more luxurious than what's on offer. |

Convenience for where I was working. Carvery meals were good quality and value. Facilities for public inquiry - light, sound, ventilation - were not good. |

The service and quality of bar service and food. Barman Jonn was especially helpful. Old and tatty decor in public areas |

Set within in its own attractive gardens, this modern 3-star hotel is ideally located on the outskirts of Stornoway, just across the road from the golf course leading onto historic Lews Castle... |
Welcome to the Thorlee, situated on the harbour front in the town of Stornoway. Located right in the centre of the town, we are an excellent base for business travellers or for touring the island. |
