Very picturesque building. Lovely cozy bar and restaurant. Private parking for the classic car. Basic room in the annex to the main building. Very good breakfast. We arrived an hour prior to check-in time, but the entrance to the lobby was left open, with a phone number. This allowed us to shelter from the rain without having to put the hood on our car! Very thoughtful and convenient.

Beautiful old building with a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff on my arrival. Narrow, steep old staircase up to my room, which overlooked the orange roof tiles of historical buildings in Rye! Comfy bed with a warm ensuite. Original features and tasteful decor and furnishings.

Pretty town with interesting buildings and people.

Pretty town with interesting buildings and people. The countryside is quintesentially English We had great fish and chips from the chippy in Rye and drank and had bar snack in a very dog friendly pub called The Standard. Travelling by car is very easy given the two car parks. However, I imagine it must be difficult to park at weekends and the height of the holiday season. Camber Sands is not far away which has a couple of dog friendly beaches.

I loved Rye, wished I could have stayed longer I parked in the harbour area and thoroughly enjoyed the bric a brac and art stores. The heritage centre is well worth the visit. Such lovely people running it. I walked up to the church and enjoyed the views from the Gunnery Gsrdens. So many interesting places en route. Lots of history. Lovely individual cafes and restaurants. Spoiled for choice. There are a lot of steep cobbled streets so difficult for those less able to walk far.

Really very comfortable boutique hotel, good location for exploring Rye and surrounding area. Nicely decorated throughout and excellent food, although a more comprehensive buffet breakfast with cereal and fruit would be welcome. Lovely mature grounds and plenty of parking. Certainly would visit again, overall good value and friendly team.
