Pretty town with interesting buildings and people. The countryside is quintesentially English We had great fish and chips from the chippy in Rye and drank and had bar snack in a very dog friendly pub called The Standard. Travelling by car is very easy given the two car parks. However, I imagine it must be difficult to park at weekends and the height of the holiday season. I loved Rye, wished I could have stayed longer I parked in the harbour area and thoroughly enjoyed the bric a brac and art stores. The heritage centre is well worth the visit. Such lovely people running it. I walked up to the church and enjoyed the views from the Gunnery Gsrdens. So many interesting places en route. Lots of history. Lovely individual cafes and restaurants.
