We were at a Wedding which was very well organised and went without a hitch. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. WiFi was an added bonus and worked perfectly.Food was also great.
Nothing to dislike, we enjoyed everything about our stay.
The pool was lovely, the room was very nice - huge comfy bed. Restaurant food was very nice and reasonably priced.
cobwebs/dust high up on wall in room. The suites were in purpose made "flats" which i hadn't expected, really nice inside, but not so nice outside.
This was our forth visit to Seamill and we weren't disappointed. staff and food always very good. enjoyed having hot breakfast served to us instead of buffet
The room was: - Too hot - Too small - Too noisy The grout in the bathroom was dirty and the ceiling also needed repaired. All in all not a great visit. Very disappointed.
Have been going to the hotel for over 30 years, lots of changes. The food is the best I have ever had at the hotel . The staff are all very good.
You could hear the music from the gym at 7 am. I was staying just above gym, slightly early for loud music. The beach just in front of the hotel needs cleaned, would not take much but would make a big difference.
The hotel, its restaurants and facilities are first class; a real bit of luxury.
Somewhat pricey, no Wifi in our suite.
THE HOTEL IS IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING AND ROOM WAS VERY COMFORTABLE
Couldn't ask for a better setting. Suite was lovely and spacious and bathroom was very modern.
Noise from adjoining suite, we were woken by young kids around 6am both mornings. It's a pity the suites aren't better insulated against noise.
We always enjoy our visits to Seamill Hydro.
Excellent facilities and staff were very helpful
Room wasn't ready when we arrived at 1. 15 we had requested earlier availability as we had to get changed so we had to change in the locker rooms not ideal
Location excellent / staff very friendly
Bathroom grouting around bath was really off putting let the hotel down
The bed was not comfortable. The pillows are awfull. Had a really bad nights sleep
The pool, the beach, the food in the bar, the room
We stayed at the Seamill Hydro Hotel on July 30, 2014. The location and setting of the hotel is wonderful and reminiscent of the old style grand hotel by the sea where patrons could recuperate breathing the fresh, salty, sea air. Inside it is modern and classy. The restaurant is excellent, the menu very special and the actual food excellent. Our bedroom, No. 25 had just been refurbished during a huge refurbishment program currently underway. There were a few small issues with the new plumbing in the bathroom and these were reported to Management lest the errors be repeated through all of the refurbished rooms. The room was extremely comfortable and my very Scottish wife was very proud to show it all off to me. We would definitely stay there again and for longer next time.
A few plumbing issues in one of the new rooms, No. 25 which were reported upon departure.
the location... by the sea and lovely gardens leading to beach
I was in room 63.... it was like a cave... poor lighting ..... really poor mattress... and outdated telly... felt let down...
FOOD WAS GOOD. FRIENDLY STAFF. EXCELLENT VIEW OF ARRAN.
NOISE ON THE FIRST FLOOR FROM WORKMEN. I UNDERSTAND WORK HAS TO BE DONE. BEDROOM CARPET HAD A FEW STAINS. REMOTE CONTROL DIDNT CHANGE CHANNELS. BREAD DIDNT COME WITH MAIN MEAL WHICH WAS ON MENU.
Would have liked a sea view
All the staff from reception to waiters to cleaners were all very friendly and helpful. My husband had a turn for the worst while we were there and the chef made him a simple meal by special request and didn't charge for it. Very understanding and caring.
Being an old hotel there was a bit of re-decorating going on. We were surprised they were doing it during the busy summer period, but I suppose it's an ongoing thing with a lovely old building to try and keep up to date.
A great place to stay, staff are always pleasant & very attentive, great location, if you book a room its a MUST that you get a sea-view, its the best way to wake up in the morning, we will be back again & again.
A small criticism, at breakfast it would be better to have ice-cold orange juice & not room temperature, a bit petty but that's the only gripe.
staff really good. the kids club great our granddaughter loved it, it gave us a few hours break. would go again.
the bed was hard so i found it hard to sleep. may be time for a new mattress.
View, location, staff friendliness
The food standard & choice was poor for such a good hotel No Vodafone reception in the room.
Location: 20 seconds from the beach. Very helpful staff. Eg, "Taxi to the station (a mile away)?" "The porter will drive you". Prompt service at breakfast, and good food. Well-run buffet supper for 25-30 in a private room. Very reasonable price for me and my adult son sharing an immaculate and modern room,Wed and Thurs, in mid-August. Didn't use swimming pool, tennis courts, etc, so can't rate them, except they looked fine. All in all, a far FAR better hotel than you'd expect at a Clydeside seaside resort.
Phone-out landline charges from the room are very high. Result: we used solely our own mobiles. I suspect the hotel would earn more from its phones if it (i) switched to a cheaper supplier and (b) halved its prices.
Orangerie and the food was excellent, breakfast too.
The room (64) was shabby and the bed poor quality, definitely not worth the money we paid.
Located directly by the beach, great view over the Firth of Clyde, lots of nature to enjoy. Staff dedicated and friendly. Very good fitness equipment, including tennis and, obviously, the pool. Spacious suites.
Service quality in bar and breakfast was inconsistent - sometimes very fast, sometimes slow and forgetful. Didn't always manage to accommodate special dietary needs (but tried hard). WIFI flaky, no self-service printer. Very limited parking in the evening due to restaurant and wedding guests.
The location is lovely. The food is first class . The orangey staff were very welcoming and professional as were the bar staff during the day.
We choose a refurb room when booking not expecting to be placed in the middle of a section which was undergoing the refurb having to walk by rooms and hallway being pulled apart etc..our room was not the standard we were expecting and we were disappointed the cleanliness of the bathro which had mould round the bath and there was a large mark on toilet seat .. Stains on the carpet . We intended to use the spa and swimming pool but sadly were not impressed with our welcome from staff . We had been given a gift at our recent wedding a voucher for seamill and we were both eager to stay but unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations .
