Room Tight to say the least Noisy Traffic Toilet Facilities down Corridor were poor under stairs Shower limited to 2 Minutes and that was a dribble B&B but no Breakfast Booked and Paid for 2 nights left after one night with NO REFUND
We loved the location and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We thought the beds were comfortable and although not en suite we had use of our own private bathroom. all spotless!!
The position is excellent in a beautiful part of Dorset -the main reason I chose it. The owner's local knowledge is very good and she is very helpful with directions. The establishment is clean.
This revue is based on my experience of several other B&B's I have stayed in over many years. It is way over priced for the facilities. The sheets are not good quality, the mattress is hard, the pillows disgraceful. There is no chair or clock. I was charged an additional £3.00 for credit card after she'd had my deposit for two months and I paid the balance in cash, I was not impressed. One morning I asked did she mind if I put a small bag of rubbish in her garbage bin, she accepted it grudgingly but I was told I should have taken it to the Council Bins. You are not allowed to eat in your room, a rule I have never come across before. I booked a Seaview room but was offered one on the ground floor facing a busy road with the bathroom across the corridor and two single beds pushed together. When I pointed out I was paying for the Seaview room, I was taken to the attic 3 floors up, then she complained because she has a bad knee and it was difficult for her to climb the stairs. Fortunately I am short but I still had to dodge the walls/ceilings. The view I might add can only be seen by opening the window and sticking your head out. I never felt relaxed there and was never really made to feel at home. There is a lounge area but appears to be out of bounds unless you are self catering. I was happy to leave and move on to better accommodation.
The welcome and cleanliness
Bathroom rather cramped Ground floor room gives onto pavement and quite busy road.
The location was the main reason for choosing Seapoint.
When booking, it seemed that the room was ensuite (which I would have preferred). This was sorted out before arrival, but it could have been made clear from the beginning. The lady was very pleasant, but extremely chatty.
Breakfast excellent. Attentive and helpful landlady.
Television a bit awkward to manage. Had to watch our heads on sloping ceiling.
We liked the llocation and the room was nice and cosy with a sea view.
Although the room was nice it was smaller than we could have imagined, we were charged £68.00 and not the £65.00 qouted and a full english breakfast would have cost us £10.00 each extra. I think the above points should be made clearer for future geusts.
Location, easy parking friendliness of the owner. Made to feel very welcome.
parking was tight but off road Landlady was very attentive.
pretty old fashioned facility attic room pokey there was no sea view as advertised.
Friendly personal service
Lovely landlady, brilliant breakfast, she coped quite well with our card situation, good location and landlady helped us find good place to eat and drink. Had to leave after 2 nights because of family circumstance
I did bump my head a few times on sloping attic ceiling - have to say that landlady did warn us of this
Everything else - our room had the toilet in a corner, behind a shower curtain, but you could still see (and hear!) what was going on through the shower. It was excessively expensive for what it was. A real disappointment
