Beautiful building. Very friendly and efficient staff. Great food. Very happy. Would definitely stay again for both business and pleasure.
Large suite in courtyard which was close to the pool. Only had continental breakfast which was good.
TV does not have all freeview channels which is puzzling. Some items in the room not up to standard or missing for this kind of hotel. Jazz music playing at breakfast
The staff were very friendly professional and nothing was too much trouble. The property was stunning and the accommodation excellent.
There was nothing to dislike about Seckford Hall Hotel and Restaurant.
The Hall and grounds are beatiful and full of historical features. My room overlooked the garden and lake.
We rang ahead to check whether our rooms would be ready to use before we attended a lunch function being hosted by the hotel and were told they would be. On arrival this obviously had not been communicated to the staff on duty, who were not very professional in sorting the problem. There was further confusion over breakfast arrangements. Also, my room overlooked the back of the hotel. The wedding being held was quite noisy and their guests were smoking and chatting under my window. My room didn't have a hair dryer, but did have someone else's trousers in the wardrobe!
The exterior of the Elizabethan house was beautiful, and I think the setting had been breathtaking at one time. I think it was value for money.
The interior of the house was dreadful It has been vandalised presumably to make it more livable but the price has been too high and I found no comfort knowing that the place had been ruined.
We came for a 60th anniversary celebration lunch. The room setting was lovely, the food was excellent and served by friendly and courteous staff. We stayed at the hotel that night. Our room was very comfortable and overlooked the hotel's beautiful gardens. Wish we could have stayed longer!
The building, grounds, staff. Good meal in evening and excellent choice for breakfast.
I first stayed in this hotel last year with my husband for a weekend. I thought it was so lovely I came back this time with my mum and sister. This is a beautiful building with well maintained interior and gardens. Staff are friendly and helpful and food is great, even the bar menu offers something for everyone. Great location, we visited Woodbridge, Southwold, Aldbrugh and Snape Maltings. Suffolk is a beautiful county with so much to offer.
Very friendly staff.
The ambience of Seckford Hall starts as you turn into the grounds and continues as you enter the building. I booked this venue after seeing it on the internet as my wife is was celebrating a late birthday. We dined the first evening there, and were so impressed with the food and service, we invited some friends to dine with us the following evening. They were similarly impressed with the ambience and presentation of our meal. We were able to enjoy an hour in the pool and spar, following a morning visit to the Sutton Hoo, not too far away. We were very impressed with our room and the antique four poster and furnishings. I'm sure that we shall return one day.
I don't think that we disliked anything at Seckford Hall.
Peace and restfulness of the location
The food was amazing and the grounds that the hotel is set in are beautiful.
The room was not as luxury as were expected or as big, for the money that we paid, i was expecting a bigger room.
Tudor decor, sensitively chosen and restored. Variety of patios with lovely views. Friendly ambience, good service at dinner and reception .
Lack of shelving beside bath to hold toiletries.
the premises and the location - brilliant lovely interesting old building and the grounds were great for the dogs.
had a problem with lack of hot water but they reduced the bill as compensation
The beautiful building, it has a lovely feel as a place to relax. We had dinner in the restaurant and I had the most superb main - it was calf's liver, cooked to sublime perfection.
Bathroom suite was tired. When I sat on the loo I could see the sink overflow was a bit grubby. My sister had a room which had obviously been recently upgraded and was lovely with an immaculate bathroom, so maybe the room I had is waiting for an upgrade.
Everything was very good, staff very helpful, room and facilities very good, food 1st class.
Slight muddle with room bookings. Breakfast was a bit slow but poss as there was 14 on our table, breakfast was very good and lots of choice, tea, coffee was topped up as needed as was the toast. thankyou for a lovely stay
Stunning garden, perfect setting for a wedding, the reason for our stay.
Being woken three times by a fire alarm the first being at 3:30am with a further two approximately 15 minute intervals. The cause was due to tea towels scorching in the tumble dryer! Did it have to be on through the night and unattended?
staff relaxed but helpfull , grounds lovely.
For the room rates breakfast should really be included, some of the rooms dated ie carpet in bathroom and hand held shower and decor a little tatty in other room booked.
Apart from having to carry my own cases up 17 stairs, my main complaint was the old fashioned bathroom. The light was broken and the basin had a bizarre single non-mixer tap. The shower was pathetic. I spent most of the weekend complaining to no avail.
Location was great and main Buildings were very pleasant.
Suite was very dated in the Courtyard.Particularly the bathroom. Room noisy from car park and upstairs. Wasn't worth the money.
Swimming pool Interesting building
Too many steps, stairs and uneven surfaces which made it difficult for a disabled guest
Setting was lovely. The staff were accommodating, particularly an excellent night porter. The room was nice, very in keeping with the period nature of the property. The decor was good, some modern touches which didn't detract from the style of the place.
Too many details were overlooked which detracted from our stay. The toiletries not re-stocked, a plastic tea tray, breakfast was acceptable but lacked finesse, and pricey. Our room had no blinds or good enough lining on the curtains, so daylight flooded the room at 5am. Unfortunately Seckford Hall is overpriced for what it is today, however more investment in this and other little details would result in a feeling of value for money.
Lovely main building, stunning grounds, nice meal in restaurant and excellent breakfast
The 'suite' that we stayed in was rather expensive and when we arrived it was very dated though clean and comfortable. Obviously the website shows newly renovated suites so when booking in the future I would ensure that I know what room we are staying in
Almost all of it ....
Gym and the gym / pool changing rooms were cramped. All need to be made larger and with some updated equipment + twice as much kit! There again if you're not into the pool or gym you'll not worry.
