Score from 278 reviews Very good
The rooms are quite large and very comfortable. The bathrooms are excellent and the toiletry selection superb. The facilities within the hotel are very good and the location is perfect for many activities.
As the staff has changed, the hotel didn't quite live up to the quality and service experienced during previous visits. The lunches and evening meals were excellent, but the cooked breakfast was pretty ordinary. The bacon was hard and difficult to cut, because it seemed pre-cooked and then warmed rather than freshly cooked.
Restaurant over priced, long wait and poor quality
Very comfortable hotel, welcoming, excellent breakfast on second day, good on first but incorrect order
Bar lacked atmosphere, few flowers or magazines or discrete background music would transform it. Wifi didn't work but in fairness wasn't crucial for me so didn't follow it up
Quality of food
Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Spacious rooms with a balcony and a MASSIVE comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff .. I love this hotel .
We arrived because of a ferry delay due to stormy weather 12 hours behind our schedule at 05.15 hours. Peter the Night Porter came out to our car, greeted us in a warm and friendly way..Insisted on carrying our cases, checked us into our rooms very quickly and then made a tray of tea and brought it to our bedroom. This was amazing service and most welcome after our long travelling.
The staff serving in the restaurant at breakfast seemed less professional and not very well trained.
Very welcoming. Staff were very helpful.
Only staying for one night, would have like to stay longer.
warm, clean room, good quality bathroom and soaps. Nice view out of room in morning. Fabulous breakfast. Friendly service. I would go there again.
The bedroom was very spacious and had a fantastic view of the gardens, small balcony was an amazing addition.
The price of the drinks and food were very expensive for what they were.
Dominec was most helpful and courteous to us during our stay Food and service very good! Beautiful and restful location.
Breakfast staff hasn't clue what they where doing and breakfast took too long.
central location and access to Snowdonia, Lleyn and Anglesey. Some staff excellent but others average. Best staff was young man at desk when we booked in and young man at breakfast. Other staff average so dependant on who dealt with you. Rooms clean, comfortable and spacious
Pool facilities limited but cleam. Could do with hot tubs or Jacuzzis preferably outside. Positives definitely outweigh negatives so we would stay again.
The hotel is nice, the rooms, the breakfast, beautiful place, a lot of things to do around
1. There's no mobile connection, to make a call u got to get out of the hotel. 2. Fishing is adverised, but u can't actually get one 3. To get the info about getting around it's better to ask the information centre 4. There's too much chlor in the swimming pool and there's a local swimming school with kids from 3-7 having classes at daytime...
the inner doors between the bedrooms
Service when eating
menu could be a little more variation of food
We had a lovely 2 night stay for our 21st wedding anniversary. The staff were really friendly and helpful - they didn't have us booked in but sorted us out brilliantly. We had a meal in the restaurant on the first night which was very nice and the breakfasts were great too. The pool, sauna and gym facilities were very good. Can't wait to go back again.
The price of a glass of wine was a little on the expensive side.
Have travelled the world and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Highly recommended.
Beautiful stay ! relaxing and quiet; great staff, very welcoming.
Excellent reception staff Excellent breakfast waitress Lovely room
Service in restaurant Hot breakfast room Food not good value for money Wine v expensive
Ideal location for trip to Snowdon. Very comfortable and spacious room and bed. Staff were really pleasant. Pool ok. Really nice breakfast.
The staff were welcoming and on the whole they were reasonably efficient. It was good to have at least some local people employed, and it was especially pleasing that somewere bi-lingual in Welsh. Having stayed at other quality hotels in North Wales in the past which take a cosmopolitan view, and ignore the local culture, this was a pleasant change. Our stay was an enjoyable one and hope to do the same again in the future.
The quality of the dinner was only average as was the service. Also the bedroom was chilly despite this being a summer evening. This being one of the few quality hotels in a Welsh speaking part of Wales, it was dissappointing that more of the signage was not in the language or bi-lingual.
Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Room was excellent and the most comfortable bed/pillows we have ever had in a hotel. Location superb. Cannot fault it. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Nothing - everything good.
The reception and bar staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, spacious and well equipped.
We were unimpressed by both the restaurant and the pool: The service in the restaurant was intended to be fine dining, but the waiters had been provided with enormous trays that were unwieldy, and the young guys clearly had difficulty controlling them so plates and cutlery slipped off and crashed to the floor more than once. The Maître D lacked finesse, so overall the experience was not 'fine'. Too many items on the restaurant menu were unavailable (including Welsh lamb - in a Welsh hotel in spring, on a Sunday!!!) The swimming pool area looked a little sad and unloved; and the heat in the sauna was very low so not effective. On Monday morning residents are not allowed use of the pool as it is designated for public use by mothers and babies. It was an expensive hotel that promised a lot and delivered little. Having made a verbal and a written complaint we are still not satisfied with the customer service we have received.
Friendly personable and efficient staff. Peaceful location; large and comfortable room; good leisure facilities; decent breakfasts.
I'm used to South of England prices but even I was a bit surprised at the cost of a glass of wine!
