The Bulkeley Hotel is yards from the beach and pier alongside the Menai Straits. It enjoys stunning views across the water to the mountains of Snowdonia.

Have travelled the world and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Highly recommended.
Beautiful stay ! relaxing and quiet; great staff, very welcoming.
Excellent reception staff Excellent breakfast waitress Lovely room
Service in restaurant Hot breakfast room Food not good value for money Wine v expensive
Ideal location for trip to Snowdon. Very comfortable and spacious room and bed. Staff were really pleasant. Pool ok. Really nice breakfast.
The staff were welcoming and on the whole they were reasonably efficient. It was good to have at least some local people employed, and it was especially pleasing that somewere bi-lingual in Welsh. Having stayed at other quality hotels in North Wales in the past which take a cosmopolitan view, and ignore the local culture, this was a pleasant change. Our stay was an enjoyable one and hope to do the same again in the future.
The quality of the dinner was only average as was the service. Also the bedroom was chilly despite this being a summer evening. This being one of the few quality hotels in a Welsh speaking part of Wales, it was dissappointing that more of the signage was not in the language or bi-lingual.
Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Room was excellent and the most comfortable bed/pillows we have ever had in a hotel. Location superb. Cannot fault it. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Nothing - everything good.
The reception and bar staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, spacious and well equipped.
We were unimpressed by both the restaurant and the pool: The service in the restaurant was intended to be fine dining, but the waiters had been provided with enormous trays that were unwieldy, and the young guys clearly had difficulty controlling them so plates and cutlery slipped off and crashed to the floor more than once. The Maître D lacked finesse, so overall the experience was not 'fine'. Too many items on the restaurant menu were unavailable (including Welsh lamb - in a Welsh hotel in spring, on a Sunday!!!) The swimming pool area looked a little sad and unloved; and the heat in the sauna was very low so not effective. On Monday morning residents are not allowed use of the pool as it is designated for public use by mothers and babies. It was an expensive hotel that promised a lot and delivered little. Having made a verbal and a written complaint we are still not satisfied with the customer service we have received.
Friendly personable and efficient staff. Peaceful location; large and comfortable room; good leisure facilities; decent breakfasts.
I'm used to South of England prices but even I was a bit surprised at the cost of a glass of wine!
clean spacious rooms and friendly atmospher
Lovely setting in beautiful country side. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
over priced wine in the restuarant
We had two breakfasts and one evening meal, we think there was a trainee cooking them as they were horrible and dry.
Location and relaxed atmosphere
Food not brilliant quality in evening. One breakfast we waited an hour and a half at the table for a cooked breakfast! Will come again tho !
Beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds, staff friendly and helpful, happy to store my bike for me
reception staff comfortable bed food room size and comfort tea and coffee facilities setting
price of wine poor shower with warm water lacked atmoshere poor training of some bar staff and restaurant staff
The room was spacious
Having to wait 20 minutes to be seated for breakfast. Waiting another 20 minutes for our order to be taken and a further 40 minutes before the breakfast was served!!
The location and rooms were amazing
The gym facilities are poor and the location of the gym is almost cave like. The worst breakfast we had everyday seemed to be worse it put us off eating at the hotel in the evening so we drove out each night not ideal
Bed in classic double room was a little uncumfortable as it was simply two single beds pushed together with padded sheet over it would have been nicer to have had a double bed
Spacious rooms Fantastic menu and choice for breakfast Pool and Sauna
Rather adhoc having the evening meal, long wait for food, even though there was only 3 tables occupied, after being told there was only 2 more slots available that evening for dinner, expensive too and not much choice as opposed to the breakfast menu!
friendly staff, good quality bed. Food good.
Room poor cleanliness, stains on carpet and furniture. Far too many kids swimming pool creating absurd noise levels. Driveway to hotel in appaling condition - severe potholes.
For a start we're middle aged! neither young nor mature. The problem with this Hotel is that it just shouldn't be in the category of 'hand picked hotels'. The St Pierre park and Rhinefield house this hotel certainly isn't, so all ratings are negatively affected by comparison. There is nothing inherently wrong with it, it's just a bit tired and trying to be something it isn't and charging accordingly!
The wine prices!!!! come on I thought we had moved on from the days of Captain Mainwaring. We all shop at Supermarkets these days and know how much good and bad wine costs.
