Seraphine - Kensington Gardens7-9 High Street Kensington, Kensington, W8 5NP London (Show map) Very good, Score from 377 reviews“I have never stayed in a hotel that was as friendly as this. They bent over backwards to accommodate us from a hotel that we moved from. We had a very large amount of luggage to to accommodate this they gave the room next door free of charge to use for the 4 nights we were there for. Its a wonderful hotel that I would highly recommend, for couples, families and businessmen. ”

Location, breakfast, wireless. Literally 5 min from High Street Kensington Metro. Self service breakfast had choices of salami, cheese, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, jelly, butter, honey, tea, coffee, muffins, donuts - kids (9 & 12 yrs old boys) really liked it. Wireless worked properly all the time and it was free. Rooms are really small, even though I called in advance and had a reservation done with it they didn't have extra bed ready in the room. We actually had to change hotel upon arriving. From Seraphine Kensington Gardens to Seraphine Olympia (both on same avenue, aprox 10 mins apart). Seemed a bit pricey to me.

The location is great, right between shopping some local tourist areas. Halfway between Heathrowe and central London as well, tube trips are split up fairly well. Main bedroom is typical London small. Bathroom was surprisingly large and nice for a hotel in this price range there. Hard to find. The hotel starts on the second floor, there's only a door leading up to it at street level. Look for a Giraffe restaurant, and then look up. Then you should see the sign above you, and be able to find the right doorway. Also, the elevator doesn't go to the first floor.

The hotel is in an excellent location, easily accessible by tube/bus and right opposite Kensington Gardens. Lots to do in the area. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Small room (attic) and not executive double as advertised, no safe as advertised, or iPod docking station Not hotels fault but Booking.Com as advertised as ok for 3 people but had to be accommodated in a different room.

Very friendly staff, comfortable beds. Great location near Tube, buses, attractions. Comped a shot of whisky and a nice pen when seeing our frustration with items below. Internet not working for 24h, single person on duty was unable to fix (said no one else had complained). Second night, room was boiling hot. Thermostat controlled from front desk. Had a discussion with desk clerk that could only be described as Monty Python for its lack of making sense, though finally persuaded him to turn down the temp. Everyone friendly, very uneven in their ability to get things done. Room was just large enough for double bed and two single beds, not really room to move - for gbp250. I guess that is what it costs in London.

The positioning was good, close to the underground and with good shopping & restaurants in the area. The hotel was overrepresented online. On arrival late at night we were expecting a hotel with a lobby but there was a narrow entrance which was hard to find & 2 flights of stairs upto the reception. We had to carry our cases up the stairs. The reception area was small & overcrowded with a few tables for breakfast. When more than 3 couples ate breafast there was no way to get to the buffet. The first night we were given a room which was so small we couldn't move around & no cupboard space. The next day we were moved to a larger room. There was only one member of staff on duty who served as the receptionist/ breakfast waiter/ porter etc etc.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they answered all our questions. Great location in a very nice neighbourhood right in front of the Kensington Gardens. There are three underground stations nearby (High Street Kensington is closed on weekends due to the planned engineering works, but you can go the Knightsbridge or Gloucester Road stations), easy access to all the attractions. Clean and comfortable rooms, very nice design. We enjoyed our stay!

Very nice staff. Happy to help. Lovely bathroom and the shower was amazing. Air conditioning was rubbish, Windows only opened one inch, Lift was very bad only used it once and it stopped between floors and we had to go up to the next floor to get out!! Also has no internal door so little (or big) fingers could get trapped. Breakfast was very poor in quality- only one of things were put out, only one sort of cereal for children, not what I expected. The dinning room was in the main reception and you can only get 14 people in it at one time. Its a very very small hotel and this really needs to be made clear to people, I did not think it was worth the amount of money that we paid.

Excellent. This was the best stay in London ever, as far as I am concerned. The hotel is small, but the cleanest I've found in dozen of trips to London. Anything you may need is there at disposal, and the staff is very professional and nice. Everything is laid down with taste, and you don't feel oppressed by the small spaces, since it's all very nice. Very good breakfast indeed, although I'd have preferred English than continental. Quality/price ratio is unbelievably good, if you consider where you are...

Though rooms were quite small, beds were very comfortable, and rooms were well equipped with tv, coffee/tea making facilities, hairdryer, and a host of handy bathroom items (shaving kit, sewing kit, dental kit, etc) Furnishings were very modern and attractive - we were admiring a particular chair and footstool, and loved the retro lampshades! Made the room feel smart as well as comfortable. Staff were fantastic, very helpful; insisting on carrying our luggage for us up and down stairs (nb. The hotel does also have a lift. We just chose not to use it as we were only one floor up) Hotel also felt secure as front the front, the entrance door was set back, and you would hardly notice the hotel was there if it weren't for the Sepraphine flag hung outside. Also perfectly located for Royal Albert Hall, which was ideal for our stay...especially given that it ended up snowing heavily on the Saturday evening! And so we didn't want to venture too far from Kensington High Street (where there were plenty of restaurants available, and a number of shops on hand for a Sunday mooch!) When we first arrived on the Saturday afternoon, the street outside was bustling with people.. It was actually quite noisy! And we feared we would not sleep well at the hotel. But the staff assured us that the noise would not continue,....and they were right. It had just been a flurry of revellers out enjoying the rugby, and come evening, Kensington High Street was like a different place! Whilst the hotel did not have a restaurant, they did provide a handy menu in the room from which you could order a variety of take away items and have them delivered to the hotel to eat in the bar area. And in any case, there were plenty of eateries along Kensington High Street, and so the take away menu was not necessary for our stay. The room was generally beautifully decorated - a w scuffs here and there on the wall which perhaps required a clean or lick of paint. But otherwise, rooms and corridors were nicely decorated and felt quality and comfortable. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again for a visit to the Royal Albert Hall.

The location was very good - city centre, Tube only 5 minutes away on foot, many shops and cafes nearby. Hotel staff polite, ready to help. Adjustable temperature in the room, room was cleaned daily, wi-fi worked very good. Was offered double room although paid for single (and did not have to pay more). Room was quite small, so potentially problematic for families and people with lots of luggage. The hotel starts in the first floor and staircase is quite narrow, but staff always ready to help with luggage.

We were going to the Royal ALbert Hall so the location was perfect, just a 5 minute walk. Also being right by Kensington Palace Gardens was a real bonus, plus the shopping in High Street Kensington was easily accessible.. For the price it was great. Rooms were rather small, but perfectly clean and comfortable. For the price it was OK

Our stay at theSeraphine was everything we expect from a good hotel. It was a good job the taxi driver knew the hotel, because we would have never found the small entrance at street level. Reception was at first floor level, and a bit of struggle with cases.

Location to Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park. Very noisy on the Road side, double glazing but poorly fitting Windows. Constant traffic, police and service vechicles noisy sirens and drunks up to 3.30 in the morning making sleeping challenging. Small Breakfast area. Lift very slow in operation and therefore not always accessible.

The hotel is convenient for shops and transport. IT is good. The hotel is on the main High Street but the sound proofing is good - not sure what it would be likein very hot weather. The views of Kensington Gardens are strictly limited. The stairwells are very narrow andt he breakfast roomis relatively small.
