Staff and location were excellent as were the meals which we enjoyed very much and could not be faulted in tase nor presentation.Bus stop also very close.
Bed was quite hard and not very comfortable nor were the pillows very comfortable sorry to say
The friendliness of the staff and the warm welcome, good food.
Easy walking distance to centre of Durham. Plenty of places of interest to visit.
Staff all very friendly, excellent breakfast. Room big and airy. Lovely village.
everything was just perfect food excellent
nothing to dilike
Great stay and excellent breakfast. The room was comfortable and quiet though facing the street. There's a good bus connection into town or easy to reach by foot in about 25-30 min. Nice area to make walks.
The inn closes its doors around 11pm or midnight at the latest. There could be a separate night entrance at the back locking off the reception area to allow later access.
It's just a nice pleasant environment
All round v.good, Excellent food & ambience, helpfull pleasant staff Lovely village for evening stroll
No garden area
Nice restaurant, very nice food, menu also quite good.
Dusty room, shower stopped working when I was using it, no batteries in TV remote, servicing of room poor.
We were visiting the village to attend the daughter of a friends wedding and particularly chose The Seven Stars for its closeness to the reception venue. Staff very friendly. Food excellent. Room adequate but would benefit from some updating. Very clean and would recommend.
Apart from points made above about possible updating of room I would have no hesitation in revisiting or recommending this hotel.
Good place to stop for easy into Durham its self. Parking good, staff and food excellent
Staff very help, very friendly welcome.
The free parking, the friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very good and we had an evening meaL which was delicious. The location was ideal for Durham and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. Calm and relaxed atmosphere. Meal I had in the restuarant was delicious, hot and cooked to perfection! Ales were excellent and enjoyed in the bar whilst reading in a comfy chair.
Would have liked room to be larger but that is me nit picking!
good bacon at breakfast
1.mattress was old and needed turning 2. no fresh fruit for breakfast
Very nice country inn with nice bar and eating areas. Breakfast was great and really good value for money. Nice atmosphere in the bar area at night. Staff pleasant and helpful.
As said in other reviews, the rooms were nice and pleasant and great value but a bit of mastic in the shower areas wouldn't go amiss! However, this said, made up for generally by the positives of staying here.
Staff were really friendly ftom the minute we arrived. Had evening meal, the atmosphere was relaxed and the good was fabulous. Lovely home cook food. The room was adequate for our needs, comfortable and clean. Would deffinately stay again.
Staff. Food. On bus route.
The rooms. Shower.Bed.
Quaint old Inn formed from what was originally a row of cottages. Lots of interesting nooks and crannies inside with a warm welcoming and cosy feel. A young enthusiastic and attentive staff who were more than happy to meet any requirement. Situated in a lovely quiet village - yet providing good location to explore Durham and surrounding area. Doesn't have own car park, but had no problem parking on road directly outside my room window.
The staircase and passageway to rooms requires refurb of decor and carpet, but this should not detract from the fact that the important areas - rooms and bar/eating areas were fine.
The general atmosphere was very good, with friendly staff and excellent meals. We would use it again and would recommend it to friends.
Bathroom was looking very tired and in need of refurbishment. Some minor decoration in corridors etc needed a lick of paint.
all the staff was absolutely lovely and extra helpful. Food was amazing and very good value!!!! The room was cozy and really clean.
I normally travel on a budget so I wouldn't normally pay 50 £ for a room. However, the service was great!
Great food Great beer Excellent service Excellent value for money
Good service. Staff friendly.
Radiator stayed hot in the summer.
Bus stop very close to the hotel. Room was quite large. Good restaurant.
Great staff work hard and are still friendly after a long day. The foods well priced and is good the inn is popular with the locals so I would book a table at the weekend if you are staying there and eating at night. All in all I would recommend this inn it's clean, tidy and handy for Durham a 30 min walk if you feel fit
Small complaint, bedside lightshade was crushed and the switch was faulty this is an easy fix which really should have been done. Also radiator wasn't adjustable so came on at full tilt when sun was shining again a small thing which could be fixed.
