Great friendly staff very helpful and a great feel to the hotel.
Nothing it was all good
The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The shower worked well. The staff were helpful particularly in assisting with luggage to the room. The room was small but as I was only staying for one night that did not matter.
The stairs were very narrow particularly at the 'turns' and the stairs to the basement breakfast room did not have a handrail until the very end of the staircase. It was impossible to open the wardrobe door wide enough to hang clothes but I was able to reach in side and grab some hangs so I hung my clothes on the outside of the wardrobe door.
Fabulous location, walking distance to everything! Breakfast, when available, was adequate. The room its self was quite modern.
We were moved to a 'self contained' apartment because the hotel 'wanted to be closed' on Christmas day. The receptionist informed us there was no service available on Christmas day, so: no breakfast, no clean towels (our towels were wet due to no ventilation/heat in the room) and no toilet paper. We had no heating. When we spoke to the manager he provided some assistance, but didn't offer a sincere apology (off loading blame) and we were offered no remuneration for all of the issues. Upon check-out there was no apology or check to see if anything had improved. It is such a pity because we knew that the hotel had some issues and we are generally willing to overlook a lot, but there was just too much going wrong...
The location was perfect for our theatre visit and the price was good value. Having breakfast included was an added bonus.
The room was small which was fine for one night but would not have been so good for a longer stay.
I love this place, and have stayed there at least a dozen times. The location is perfect, the staff are lovely, and invariably helpful. It's more of a B&B than a hotel, it's small, and entirely suitable for a short sightseeing or shopping trip.
It's London, so it's noisy.
Brilliant location and great price.
Wonky stairs to the top floor. Room was very small.
Great price/value ratio Warm enough at night English breakfast Helpful staff
Room was quiet and reasonably comfortable. Location is fantastic for central London.
Daughter's bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was poor. Eggs over cooked and beans/tomatoes luke warm. There are so many great places for breakfast nearby I really don't see why they do it.
Staff where very helpful asked too leave room for 12 noon not a problem.
Fabulous location, friendly staff, good English breakfast
Poor heating, traffic noise
Hotel's annex at nearby location had comfortable bed, refrigerator, microwave, bigger rooms, good WiFi, TV, and good shower facilities. Staff were exceptional.
Climb up spiral staircase can be a real workout if you have heavy luggage. WARNING: single rooms at Monmouth St. location are about the size of a phone booth- OK for one night but it's worth it to spring for a double room (still cheap for Covent Garden) or better yet, the newly refurbished rooms at the SDH's other location nearby.
Best location for theatera n musicals lovers..
Location in Central London was good, breakfast was good too , the reception was maned at all times which is a really good idea and the staff where always there to help throughout the day
The hotel did require an major upgrade, our room had no handle on the window so therefore I could not shut the window throughout the night , redecoration is required , the furniture was looking a little tried too, I think if this was done is would have been a top hotel in the centre of London, I think the upgrade is required ASAP x
Location Breakfast Price
Bed was a little soft!
Could not fault the location. Everything we wanted was within walking distance. The location itself (the street) is buzzing with atmosphere at night. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast nice. Could keep our bags there before and after check in/out no problem, free of charge. Nice TV Great value.
Wanted more than 3 pillows for a double bed. Rooms are on the small size, but have everything you need in them.
The location is amazing - very easy to walk to lots of places such as Covent Garden. The front door was secure which was great and the building's small but the owner has done well with it. It was very clean (better than some we've stayed in) and the breakfast was fine. There was a kettle in the room so that was a relief as we do like a cuppa. The TV worked as did the Wi Fi so we can't fault it and we will return!
No Negatives!! PS: don't expect the Ritz and you won't be disappointed.
The pipe in the shower was clogged...
Studio flat. Location Breakfast Staff Value for money 2nd visit as good as the first
Staffing was excellent, they were very polite and friendly. The location was quite good.
The room was cramped, beds were very uncomfortable, breakfast was not very good- we ended up buying breakfast from a nearby restaurant, for what we paid we expected more- overpriced
The room was small but comfortable a brilliant location and will definitely use again when visiting Covent garden .
English breakfast buffet. Could leave luggage safely until ready to collect in reception. Door locked to hotel at all times, manned 24hrs.
Decor of room.
Location Staff very friendly and helpful
Room basic and decor tired and faded Stairs up to first floor room a bit steep En-suite tiny no room to move!
the food was very good and the dining room was well layed out saying it was a small room, and very clean as well tne staff were very helpful and friendly, we will definatley stay there again if we go to London.
there was just one thing we were a bit disappointed with and that was the rooms are small but as you only sleep in them it was not a problem.
I found the hotel in a fabulous location and felt it was secure. staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Spiral staircase lugging my case up was tiring, but something I just got on with
Stairs vinyl flooring in rooms, decor bit behind the times but you get what you pay for.
