breakfast to be improved too greasy.
1. The bed was so nice I woke up (pleasantly) disoriented as to where I was (the sign of a good night's kip away from home). 2. The breakfast and coffee were utterly splendid and the ladies at the "bar format" breakfast seating area were keen to please. 3. Tea and coffee in the room, furniture, toiletries, and so on were great. 4. The hotel mentions in its literature stern warnings regarding smoking, so the room smelled fresh. 5. The room I had, presented THREE big sash windows with panoramic views over the river.
Friendly welcome. Staff very helpful, got me a taxi, changed my room so that I did not have so many stairs to climb! Breakfast good, promptly served. Tap water good and hot, room pleasantly warm but not too hot; window easy to open(plus mark!) A very pleasant stay. Thank you.
Part of the building rather poky and cramped-- however given time and opportunity for refurbishment I am sure things will improve
The air fresheners in the corridors to disguise the overall smell of the hotel.
When I booked this hotel, I realised that it was Worcester University graduation day and subsequently all other hotels in Worcester were full. I did wonder at the time why this one had plenty of vacancies. The place is not a hotel, it is a doss house. My room was dirty and cold, it was lit by a bedside lamp with no lamp shade. The room had a view of the River Severn but you could hardly see it as the windows had not been cleaned for a very long time. The TV worked but the remote did not. If you need staff for any reason forget it once the bar shuts downstairs. I had breakfast on the first morning which was poor, cooked English, tea and orange juice, nothing else, and the dining room consists of a corridor, not a room. Despite the room information stating breakfast was served 8am to 9am Monday to Saturday, I went down for breakfast at 8am on the Saturday morning to find the bar and corridor chained up with no staff present, probably a blessing. The hotel in general is filthy and run by ignorant and incompetent staff. When I complained, I was treated with contempt.
The staff were very helpful, and were absolute stars when I was really ill.
Cleanliness was good apart from the boxers shorts and socks in the wardrobe that someone had evidently missed.
breakfast and lack of sound proofing
Location is perfect, short walk into the city, close to pubs & restaurants and places of interest. Pay & display car park is right next door - charges for parking at accommodation is not unusual in Worcester. Staff were superb. We had occasion to ask for advice with regard to the radiator in our room and they came and dealt with us straight away, leaving us a free standing oil filled radiator for back up if we needed it. Room was ample size and very comfortable and clean. Plentiful supply of bathroom toiletries and tea & coffee. Views across the river Severn were lovely. Breakfast was a generous English, sausages, bacon, baked beans, egg, toast - cereals if you want them, fruit juice; tea & coffee - all good. This is a very old building, complete with beamed ceilings and is a work in progress project which is receiving a lot of attention and hard work. Bar is well stocked and spotless with an abundant supply of draught lagers/beers, together with an attractive display of spirits. I think some people seem to take a delight in finding fault with places. Would I visit again - most definitely.
Nothing, we loved it.
Staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and tidy
The hotel was in a prime location. Brilliant view from our room overlooking the river. The bed was very comfortable, very spacious room. The staff were very helpful and extremely kind during our overnight stay.
the people running it go out of there way to help you,the staff really are so polite.I enjoyed my stay there.
Location overlooking river Severn 24 hour Parking close by for £3.50 Generous toiletries Full English breakfast
Small pillows Electric shower
Friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Extra blankets and pillows no problem. Earlier breakfast than normal accommodated.
Tired decor, just enough room to get a small carryon in and out of the door due to the layout of the room. Breakfast isn't til 8 but I would have thought most of the customers midweek in November are contractors or business people who would need to be at work by 9.
Not much although staff were very pleasant both when I arrived and were helpful
TV didn't work general standard of the room was poor. It was similar to a downtrodden bedsit.
The noise, our room was over the front door, the people outside smoking talking & shouting
A pleasant wellcome
For the price this hotel is perfect and the staff very helpful and friendly. I will certainly stay here again. The view of the river in the morning from the bedroom window like a dream. Many thanks.
Didn't like anything
Toilet dirty, nasty smell in the room. Rooms cold and dirty. Cheap quality conflakes for breakfast, salty bacon. Expensive car park
Artifical flowers on table, breakfast looked ok, location, that it had an ensuite and bedding looked clean. £39 price.
Having to sign i was happy with the room before (When I asked they offered but it was a long way away so said not to bother, didn't expect it to be as awful as it was). Cracked bathroom sink and sopping wet towel over sink (tap didn't leak so how) and flooded floor. Dodgy lock on door, very very stained carpet. Lots of black stains everywhere, but numerous white fluid stains around the bin and some over rest of carpet. Also strong smells of air freshener and aftershave in hallway.
Closeness to our departure point which was Croft Rd car park, the cost of overnight stay and vicinity to city for restaurants. We have stayed here before and found the staff very friendly and helpful and rooms very comfortable and clean and totally adequate for our overnight stays
Lovely people, great value
The location and polite staff.
The room. I had travelled over five hours and paid £65 prior to seeing the room. I had to leave early Sunday morning (08:00) but breakfast was not served until 09:00 so I missed out but still paid full price, despite the staff member being made aware of departure time. The room had a leaking toilet and the bathroom electric socket that you pull to operate the shower was broken and simply had black masking tape holding it together. I was also uncomfortable with some of the characters around the building, particularly after observing one individual sitting on the stairs in close proximity of my room and watching my every move. I even left my light on that evening to deter anyone of trying to enter my room. Whilst I appreciate and acknowledge the polite manner of the staff, I would not stay at the venue again and £30 would have been more of a realistic price.
simple and relaxed
the bedroom window
Location and helpfulness of the staff together with their customers.
breakfast was served late. So we missed Sunday breakfast because our event date started earlier.
Location suited the purpose of our visit. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The place need a BIG face-lift! We were OK but others needed management and none on site or available despite messages left.
Quality of sleep has nothing to do with hotel - more to do with me!
Washbasin cracked. Carpet needs good clean or replacement. Manager needs to be there on a Sunday morning when there are more guests than normal - lovely little waitress had rather poor English.
