the room /the owner/the food the boss was extremely helpful . staff were pleasant car parking convenient rooms were very well furnished and clean.we had a nice outlook from the window .shower and toilet clean .breakfast well cooked and plentifull.
terrible noise by the workmen in the early hours of the morning when coming in drunk .went on for 2hours between 3and5am.the boss should have been on premises to experience the discusting behavior
it was an ideal location to watch cricket
Welcome was very friendly and efficient. Room was a twin and very very spacious with a double bed + single. Bathroom was a bit of a squeeze when entering but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. Overlooking river with busy main road but had a very good nights sleep all the same.
Pay for parking. Stairs leading to rooms unsuitable for children or elderly people. Rooms need updating. Price was expensive for a 2 star rating. As it was a non smoking hotel why was there a cup in draw used as an ashtray also a used newspaper in draw. Bed post banged on wall every time you turned over in bed. Noise of traffic all night long I felt I was trying to sleep in the middle of a motorway. Light in bathroom was just a exposed bulb no shade. Bath to high to get in for a shower no nonslip mat or hand rail to help.
Bed comfortable nice location and the public bar interesting eclectic locals.
breakfast room prefer the bar area.
Staff, good breakfast, cleanliness
being close to the river - great views of kingfisher and bats friendly, helpful staff on arrival good breakfast clean room
room was small and bit dilapidated morning staff were more interested in drinking coffee outside but were helpful when located and asked.
The owner was a great bloke, very friendly. The location was excellent and it was good value
Friendly, helpful manager Good sized room Location to train station and city centre very convenient Generous full English breakfast
Breakfast area very basic Carpeting needs cleaning
Beds were very uncomfortable B&B standard rooms, not a hotel Over a pub
Great location for the river, racecourse, cricket ground and the city centre. Friendly staff.
I would like to give my opinion discreetly: my wife and I have both been in the trade for a number of years (manager and chef) and we'd like to offer what we hope is constructive criticism... We stayed on the above night and on the whole enjoyed it but I would like to make the following observations: Reception: Why do you take the money before we even see the room? We wouldn't buy any article from a shop this way. Made us feel a little untrustworthy The room: The wash basin looked as if it had been hit with a hammer and the bath had a large chip out of it (health and safety risk). There was no rubber mat for a shower (HASAW again). There was NO hot water for a wash or a bath and the tap would not turn off unless pressed firmly. No drinking glasses. The curtains could not be closed properly. There was no main light in the bathroom and no extractor fan. Only one window would open: it was a hot night and we couldn't have a fan. Someone was walking above our heads until the very early hours. No hair dryer. The kettle had a large dent in it. Breakfast: We would have liked to have our breakfasts together: my wife had to sit and watch me eat and then hers turned up when I had nearly finished. The food was very oily, everything came (toast balanced on top) on one plate: no side plates no butter knife, no marmalade. When we finished the plates were taken separately at the end! She left an empty plate and came back! Even though both were empty and could have been taken together. She did the same with the adjacent table: four journeys instead of two. As I said in my phone call I didn't want to put this on a review site and although it doesn't sound like it, it was an average stay for the price.
Position. Bed comfortable. Only a few minutes from City Centre. Big Full English Breakfast.
i) The proximity and cheapness of over night parking. ii) The cheerfuless and good looks of the waitresses who served the excellent breakfast.
The whole place ( bar the bar ) could do with a lick of paint - paint cans and brushes littered about the place indicated that the management agree.
I got there and find that there was head banging music blaring out, and I had booked in for some quiet rest having travelled down from Huddersfield to visit the three counties show and to find that it would cost more to park for the night than the cost of the room plus the loud music I said I could not stay there for that reason and I had to drive all the way back home again without resting up. It was so disappointing and I feel that visitors should be informed about the vehicle parking arrangements and warn them of the council controlled parking arrangements £3 per hour overnight is quite expensive and even Dick Turpin wore a mask to rob people.
Breakfast and staff are very friendly
Couldn't sleep cos of traffic and room had strange smell, opened window and couldn't get rid of it. So, might pop in for a drink but that's all about it.
I liked the fact that it took about 5 mins to get into the centre of Worcester. I liked the cleanliness. I thought the sheets and towels were very clean and in good condition. I thought the tea/coffee facility good. Water was hot, shower was great. I liked the people who worked in the hotel. They were friendly and well informed and very enthusiastic. Although I was alone I was made to feel very welcome.
Nothing in particular. I do hope that the owner of the hotel keeps ownership and develops it in a personal way. The reason that this hotel stood out was the potential that it held for an individual hotelier.
Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Excellent location in town. Clean rooms.
Price of incidental purchases in hotel, at bar, seemed a little steep. Some aspects of hotel showed signs of age (shower fitments etc.)
Bed was hard , plug sockets didn't work and only an hour for service of breakfast which we weren't told on arrival and consequently missed
The breakfast was good.
The look of the outside is pretty appalling. The property is in poor state of repair.
Bed very comfortable Price was good Close to numerous restaurants. Valentino's(Local Italian resturant) was AMAZING. Good food, huge portions and fantastic service.
Windows very hard to open/close Traffic noise Parking is Pay&Display which is irrational for a car park for a hotel.. Apart from the bed, everything looked rather old. The breakfast was not up to scratch. Small things matter when you are in a hotel.
near the river, close to town
Warm welcome on day if arrival.
Clutter (bits of beds and collection of painting ephemera) on landings. Carpets on landings and in rooms could do with thorough vacuum. Very noisy night. This excludes the traffic which uses the busy road outside which is unavoidable. Rather the chatter and laughter from drinkers and smokers at the outside tables at hours up to 3pm - very disturbing every word can be heard in rooms which only have poorly fitted sash windows. Breakfast staff very surly and table area lacking any charm or warmth.
Nice spacious room. Easy to walk into town.
It was quite a shock to be so near to the road, though a good view of the river! Unavoidable amount of traffic inevitably due to the road bridge over the Severn being so close. Noise levels did die down, the sea-gulls proclaimed the dawn! Changing the Saturday breakfast time without warning: on check-in I was told 8-9a.m then quite by chance I found it to be 9-10. This is an out-dated time for a town visit as who wants to come somewhere and then hang around for breakfast. Maybe it ought to be considered whether to give guests the option of room only and a price difference for including breakfast. I was not impressed by the waitress on duty who was not welcoming or obliging. The cereal boxes were almost empty, my cooked meal was brought before I'd even finished the cereal, I could go on....suffice to say I'd recommend some staff training or a change.
Very poor room. No hot water. Shower dribbled. Dirty filthy room. Paint and stains everywhere. Other people's things in cupboards and wardrobe as if someone was living in room when not booked ! Window hanging on by a thread. Electric socket held on with sellotape? ..couldn't stay there. Left and went home after about 20 mins in room..never again...
