They had wifi Non smoking, could not book in until 15.30 due to the hotel being locked and no staff available, could not book out when needed due to no staff available, no room service, bathroom toilet designed for extremely thin person, not enough tea making accessories available and no staff to contact for resupply,

Location very pleasant, breakfast excellent, very friendly staff. Disappointed that that Restaurant closure on Tuesdays as well as Mondays was not detailed on website or booking details (It is detailed in information in room). Bathroom a little cool due to draught from extractor fan vent.

Dinner on the Saturday night of our stay was very good. Breakfast was good every morning. Our room TV only received one channel, BBC 1 and despite reporting this on the Saturday of our arrival it had not even been looked at when we departed on Tuesday ! Bathroom in room 4 is tiny, it's a bit like trying to shower in a phone box. Impossible to sit straight on the WC as you get 3rd degree burns from the towel rail if you attempt it. No hot water in our room on morning of our departure. Their website doesn't give all of the information it should, such as restaurant and bar opening times, which isn't very often. One evening the main bar was closed, so we were sent up to the "Bistro" at the end of the garden which then promptly closed at 7:30 ! There is no "reception" in this establishment, if you need anything you ring a bell in the hallway. The waiting room in my dentist is more inviting than the "lounge" in Sewerby Grange. It's a bit like booking a room in the "Marie Celeste" !

Its only redeeming features are location and its restaurant which couldn't be faulted. Also restaurant staff were very helpful. Very poor management. Not shown to room, just pointed in general direction. No reception facility/no phone in room to report problems/no staff on hand at most times. Couldn't shower on final morning as no hot water which wasn't investigated until over an hour after reporting it. Furniture and decoration of room was shoddy. Wardrobe doors hanging on one screw, curtains and rail collapsed, toilet wouldn't flush properly.

The food in main restaurant was very good Bistro was good The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Placement of Sewerby Grange central to our visits. Rooms were fairly well appointed, first time I have stayed anywhere where no bath was provided as standard. Mother would have prefered a bathroom, the shower was fine for me and a fairly decent size too although rest of en-suite fairly small. Not really a hotel, more a guest house. My Mother & I arrived to find a open door & a bell push on wall to ask for attention. Lady came out of locked door and did not know wether she was expecting 2 or 4. We were told there was no dining room Monday night, we eat down at local pub, later on. We were shown our rooms, both had showers only, no bath. Mother likes a bath. Rooms were comfortable, bathrooms although fairly well appointed were quite small. Small lounge area, tables low, dining room and bar area only open in evening, when dining room open, otherwise locked. No menu's at breakfast, coffee very nice. This hotel I booked for us was central to places we wanted to visit. Sewerby Grange needs a bit of tweeking here and there though.

Great overnight stay, lovely, helpful staff. A bit of old world charm coupled with modern facilities where necessary. Would definitely go back, even when the weather was so bad going back to the hotel felt warm and cosy.

The room was small but functional with a modern ensuite. The bistro in the hotel grounds provided excellent meals as did the hotel's dining room for breakfast. We also found the staff to be very pleasant & attentive. The hotel is situated opposite the cliff top park that runs from Sewerby Hall right down into Bridlington. This provides you an easy walk to all of the attractions or a quiet sit on the seats overlooking the cliffs & sea.
