very homely,beautiful dining room! serving an excellent breakfast in a spotlessly clean setting! very enjoyable. slight criticism,why don't they tidy up the front garden?,it's not a large area and could be so nice.

We loved our room at Shaftsbury Lodge, it was roomy, with a sofa, table and chairs and plenty of room to relax. Would recommend it highly.

Small friendly family run hotel with an excellent breakfast. We have stayed there before and have used other hotels in Dundee over the past eight years when visiting daughter. Shaftesbury is the best value and most comfortable. Previously had the best chinese restaurant, but that has now closed. It's hardly a criticism though. Place is excellent.

Shaftesbury was very comfortable and in a quiet area. That being said 5mins and you reached some very nice restaurants and a lovely local pub with a roaring fire.Heather who greeted us was a lovely friendly person and if i go back to Dundee i would definitely go back here.

I strongly reccomend it..The staff was very very friendly and the room very clean as well.It is located close to the centre and the view of the hotel is stunning.Something like being in your own home.EXCELLENT..

The staff are very friendly. The owner remembered me and asked about my family remembering that my daughter had been ill. The room vas very comfortable and the breakfast excellent. I would stay there againg if I went up to Dundee.

We stayed at the Shaftsbury Hotel not Lodge but I assume it's the same place? Friendly staff, very clean and a fantastic breakfast make this an ideal hotel for our needs. This was a repeat stay and will book again. I am unclear as to whether reduced rates are given for more than one night's stay as this would be helpful to know.

My room was spotless clean and the carpet and curtains looked new. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to offer me an exceptional service. It was not the cheapest accommodation I could find in Dundee but after reading the reviews, I'm glad I booked up. It was well worth a few pounds more and I would highly recomend a stay here.

The suggestion to see the local pub Speedwell was spot on-- if I opened a pub it would be exactly like it- comfortable spot for the locals and visitors alos felt quite welcome.

Good value. Easy parking. Clean rooms and friendly staff. This is not a complaint but the outside of the property needs a lick of paint to brighten it up and make it look more inviting.
