Located in the West End of Dundee, the Shaftesbury Lodge is a 5-minute taxi journey from Dundee city centre. Local restaurants can be reached after 5 minutes’ walk and free Wi-Fi is available throughout. This 19th-century guest accommodation has retained many original features and has high ceilings throughout. A TV with a DVD player and tea and coffee facilities are included in each spacious and individually decorated room. A full Scottish breakfast is served in the breakfast room in the morning. Free public parking is possible nearby and Dundee Airport is just a 5-minute drive away. The Dundee University Botanic Gardens, RRS Discovery and Verdant Works museum are only a 5-minute drive from the property. Due to the age of the building, the Shaftesbury Lodge does not have a lift. Double ensuite lovely big bay windows tolitries lovely very clean bedding fresh and good nights sleep good italian nearby breakfast amazing all cooked to order hosts warm and friendly Tv too small but did the job bigger one would be better . Half an hours walk to centre but plenty taxis and local restaurants shop 5 mins walk and cash machine next to restaurants

The staff. They were very friendly and helpful. Additional Electrical heater for the cold nights. The central heating is switch at night and with single pane windows you need an additional heater.

Only stayed overnight but wished we could have stayed longer. Very friendly hotel, in a quiet road , beautiful large room with equally large ensuite, high ceilings with lovely bay window. Excellent breakfast. We'll be back, I am sure! Nothing!!

Very nice owners and only 20 minutes walk from town. Loads of Restaurants and pubs close by but still in a quiet neighbourhood. Very clean room. Good WiFi reception.

Almost 8 years since stayed here, new owners have upgraded and re-furnished since then and made very welcome. Very good breakfast (highly rec the porridge) and overall highly recommended. Nothing at all.

The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The decor is lovely, genteel edwardian. Both our rooms had sea views. Everywhere is clean and fresh smelling. The staff are very friendly and helpful, advising on where to eat out and providing a taxi number. The breakfast was superb with good choice on the menu. I had a generous portion of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, while my friend had full scottish breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing breakfast - wide range of cereals, fruits, yoghurts, seeds and nuts as well as beautiful cooked options including scottish smoked salmon - delicious; lovely dining room; good bedroom; would absolutely stay again! Possibly a little far from anywhere in dundee

I received a very warm welcome from Heather who made me feel at home straight away. My room and bathroom were spotless and very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. a nice touch was the guests' bookcase with books and DVDs to borrow during the stay.

Excellent stay at The Shaftesbury while in Dundee on business. It is either a short taxi ride into the centre of town or about a 30 minute walk. Breakfast was also great. Would highly recommend it.

The welcome - the location - the quality of the room and the service. Nothing was too much trouble - the whole experience was top notch! Many thanks I would have liked real milk in the room for tea - but I didn't ask for it and am sure if I had they would ve been happy to oblige!
