Perfect place to stay and location just amazing close to everything Staff was very profasinal and friendly

The Shaftesbury Hotel is somewhere that we'd definitely stay at again! It is in a great location with walking distance to many places and sites, great restaurants, etc., and it has been recently remodeled. The rooms are furnished beautifully and the concierge is extremely outgoing. This hotel has a great restaurant service and bar!

The only downside is that the walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything. We stayed in a room in which case we requested to be extra quiet, since we have a small child who goes to bed early. You could hear every word from the person next door, even when they talked in a normal volume voice, in addition to every footstep of the stairwell which must have sat right above us. However, once we called the front desk, they were able to ask our neighbor to be a bit quieter, in which case the neighbor obliged. Soon people settled in and there were less footstep noises from the stairwell, as well.

The location was exactly right for me and the room was very clean.

I thought the room was on the small size. But it didn't detract from my stay and I felt comfortable.

The room was absolutely tiny - even for London. There was just enough room for a single bed.

I was in a single room which was tiny but that was fine - my issue is that it was on the ground floor right next to the office or something and for some reason the walls were so thin all through the night I could hear noises, also above me there was something going on and I could hear a constant thumping which woke me up at 4am like someone jumping up and down!!! What on Earth?!?! Also there was a tiny light on the ceiling that when all the main lights were turned off was so bright it was horrible and you could not cover it or turn it off - it didn't seem to be a fire alarm or anything so have no idea of its function. I had such a restless sleep it seemed like a complete waste of a night in a hotel as I was just staying there to have a peaceful night!

Location, simple but modern interiour of the lobby.

During our five nights stay, there was two fire alarms. One was caused by the guest of the hotel becasue of smoking a cigarette. Next day, at the breakfast, we were told what happened. For the other fire alarm, there was no explanation or apology words from anybody. A hint for the restaurant - there was no small spoon available for tea or coffee. Using a big spoon (or a knife) instead was not suitable.

1) Excellent location - Near to tube stations and bus stops, not far from Paddington Heathrow Express, accessible to halal restaurants and self-service laundry, near to Hyde Park. 2) Free WIFI and fast connection too! 3) Room 306 has good view and quiet too.

1) The room is small, hardly fits our 2 luggage. 2) Shower water drained out very slowly, hence shower cubicle got flooded and sometimes overflow to the bathroom floor.
