Good location, Queensway only minutes away. Twin room spacious. Unfiedly receprionist at arrival. Due to overbooking we did not get what we booked. Instead of a twin we got two singles, bit compicated if you are travelling with one suitcase. Singles were very small and without window. Although a non-smoking establishment - one room was stinking of cigarette smoke, Overprices breakfast (15 pounds).

Room facilities were good, such as hairdryer, microwave, iron and tea facilities. Location was quite good as well. However, rooms are very very very small. We had room in basement and window was very small and noisy because of the pipes outside. Our TV was broken and we asked staff to sort this problem for 2 days. First they said that they cant do much for that moment and ask to come again next day and at the next day they just took the remote and didn't come back. We gave up and lived other days without TV. Room internet was kept on going off which was very annoying. We had microwave in our room but not the fridge, but i think the second we would need much more. Bathroom was very small and the handle was broken, although we asked to fix it they didn't do even that.Cleaners always gave us evil looks. Rooms smelled like rot, there wasn't fresh air and the corridor always was very hot although it was 17 degrees outside. I would never recommend this hotel to people with claustrophobia.

The breakfast was very good and staff at breakfast were very efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast room was really nice and airy and spacious. . Our twin room was well equipped but a little on the small size. We stayed for 8 nights and I think I prefer a larger room for longer bookings like this. If we had only been there for a couple of nights it would not have mattered. We were actually moved to another hotel because the original one had some problems with the electrical system in some of their rooms. So we were moved to the Shaftesbury Metropolis Hyde Park The room was really quite warm. We needed the airconditioning on most of the time even over night. This seemed strange as it wasn't that hot outside.

Very clean, tidy and friendly The whole building was extremely hot, and the constant noise from what I assume was the generator outside that powered the air conditioning was very annoying.

The hotel is in a safe location. Convenient transportation. The air conditioner is very dirty so the dust comes out of it all the time. Furthermore, the room is too small.

Location. Extremely cramped room (and had been downgraded due to mistake in booking). Very uncomfortable beds. Noise from next rooms. Unhelpful and unfriendly staff - and other guests shared our concerns.

The hotel reception staff were great in letting us check in early and we even got upgraded to a club room that faced a nice quiet street and had a balcony, you can't go out onto the balcony but it looked nice. The bathrooms are lovely and the t.v was a large 32". there is a microwave in the room and plates and cutlery should you feel like using it. The location to Kennsington gardens and Hyde park is a 15 min walk away and the area is very quiet and safe. The value for money was great and I would stay here again, the rooms are a little noisy as the walls are quite thin, if you are a light sleeper you may want to take ear plugs, there was a chatty man who talked into the small hours next to us. Take out menu for room service literally comes from a take away restaurant but it was excellent value for money £10.85 for med pizza, garlic bread, chicken wings and a can of coke!! twim beds instead of a double, wasn't a problem for us but I read that this happens alot when checking people in.

The location of the hotel and friendliness of staff The allocated room 206 was extremly small to be used as a double. Accesability to the far side of the room was non existent since the head and bottom of the bed was wedged between opposite walls. This not only constitues a danger to an elderly person who can become trapped on the wrong side of the room and in an emergency the only escape route would be to climb on the bed and exit through the other side. A very dangerous escape route. I have taken photos of the room and will be submiting my findings to the City of London Fire Service for their views. I asked for a bigger room and they said that nearly all rooms were similary small ? And they offered me an upgrade to a club room at an extra charge. I will similary be contacting Shaftsbury Hotels.

I was transferred to the Earls Court hotel branch. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were polite and welcoming. Also they had lateral thinking, and catered for my needs- due to the transferring of hotels.

Location was good. ONLY! Unfortunately when we arrived (after hours of travelling) they said that we need to change hotel to another shaftsburry for the reason that they do maintenance work. This was without any notice. We moved for one day to another hotel and then after calling the admin supervisors of the hotel we have moved back. I was so disappointed by this beahaviour. Also the rooms are very very small. The beds are too small for a 1.71cm tall male and 1.65 female! This is NOT a 4 star hotel I believe comparing with 4 stars in my homecountry. With my wife, it definitely did not meet our expectations.
