Reception were lovely wel to be honest all staff were so lovely and helpful helpful.... Room was so modern and so clean we loved it, nice comfy bed and comfy sofa, nice large tv and loved the mirrors in the bathroom perfect for doing all your make up in. If you wasn't happy with that we also had more mirriors in the room, one you can even check your outfit in, given shampoos, shower gel, body lotion minis daily or when needed even though we did being our own. It's was my boyfriends birthday so when we booked with booking.com we advised this so when we got to Shaftesbury Suites the front desk had done a birthday card with a complimentary bottle of wine so that was lovely... I didn't go for breakfast but my boyfriend did and he said it was a very nice English breakfast indeed and the staff done all they could for you.. Only about a 5min walk or so on to Oxford street, local shops on same road for drinks, food etc if needed... Thank you so much for a perfect stay we will definitely be staying again sometime specially when we need to do some shopping :)....x
The shower room could of had more space as there was no room to move about when you got out of the shower, you had to get ready in the bedroom and lastly whoever was above were really noise early morning 3am etc and it did echo/ sound and wake us up I think this is because it is more like a house rather then a big hotel
Staff are friendly, always smiling and ready to please. Room was clean and neat. Conveniently situated and close to the tube station.
Room was quite small ... would have liked to have a window
It was a nice time that we spent in London, the location was great with accessiblity to all nice places in down town.
In availability of elevator. The hotel has 2 building and you will have to use the main building for breakfast or bussiness activity
There was no lift and rooms were very small . the lobby manager was in the other building
The bed was sooo small
Nearly refurbished with taste; nice and clean.
I booked this room last minute to be able to stay near my offices after a management meeting. The single room I got was hands down the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed at. The problem was that at 2am, some noisy drunk girls made it back to the room opposite mine and made such a raucous they woke me up. despite me complaining to the night guard, this kept going on where they were going up and gown the stairs and being noisy, meaning I didnt get to sleep until 3am and had to be up at 6am, so the £180 rate was a little sharp for 3 hours' rest! Needless to say I will not stay there again :-(
Small size room, noisy, internet very poor and it hack my laptop and have to format it and paid 90 pounds.! and worst thing that they have but in another hotel that I did not book with!!!!!!
Location Staff was cooperative
Complaints from all other guests everytime we passed by. Cleanliness was not too good.
Modernised bedrooms and very nicely done Good value for london Quiet street but easy to get to marble arch tube
My double club room and Location.
Same floor as reception and few noises from upstairs.
Close to the tube and ethnic food. The complaint we had with the hotel was delt with in a timely manor. In addition, the gave us free breakfast as a apology
Wifi was down for 12 hours, the room wasn't ready on time ~30 min late and some minor maintenance issues needed to be attended to.
- Location - Staff - Rooms (small but nice)
- No lift
It was perfectly located. If you aren't spending any time in your room and you're travelling alone, it's perfect.
Very small but the price is worth the sacrifice.
Early check in, late check out. Very leisurely experience. Having the room for 22 hours meant be could use it as a base rather than somewhere to sleep. Perfect for West End and very quiet. Only 5 minutes walk from Marble Arch tube station.
We got there to be told we was being transfered to paddington not what we paid for an no apology
Room was impeccably clean and really comfortable. Top value for money. Highly recommended.
The location down a very quiet road was excellent. The room was very well furnished and with very modern, trendy furniture and with lots of amenities. It was a very comfortable room and a good choice
The worst thing was that when we arrived, we were told that the hotel was fully booked but that there were no rooms available but that there was a room at a hotel in Paddington if we would like to go there. This is not good as I had specifically booked the Marble Arch area as it was my partner's birthday and he likes that part of London. Who wants to stay in Paddington!? Also our room was literally in reception (No 7) so we could hear all the staff talking throughout the night and early morning and also all that guests checking in were saying. The toiletries that are used in this hotel are pretty rubbish as I had to go out to the nearest Boots Chemist to buy some shower gel - the stuff provided is almost like water with no fragrance and no "foaming up"
Despite getting a discounted rate, I had a very large room and good sized bathroom, the bed was comfortable.
The room and facilities in the room were great for the price in Central London hotel
When I arrived late a night, I went to the hotel and was told I had to walk back down the road to no 30 to check in. This was not made clear on the booking, so rather inconvenient, as had all my luggage and could have got the cab to drop me there. Checked in and had to walk all the way back - not good
location of the hotel
room size was very small... it was in basement without an elevator... no attached restaurant.
Staff were friendly & helpful, the location was excellent. The newspapers were a great touch as was the fresh fruit. The bed was comfortable.
I didn't realise there wasn't an elevator, this was not mentioned when I made my booking, I was in London for spinal surgery so this was a problem, the staff relocated me to the first floor but it was still not excellent. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were like rocks. Fresh coffee would be preferable or a coffee machine like a Nespresso would be much better than instant coffee, especially as there isn't a restaurant or cafe located on the premises...
Understated exterior but gorgeous and luxurious interior along Gulfstate chic lines. Courteous and very friendly staff. Clubroom rooms give access to the clubroom with complimentary breakfast. Complimentary wifi is an added bonus.
Montcalm hotel has different locations, make sure you select the right one. Extensive breakfast options, but not good value for money, not even when pre-booked.
Disgusting hotel needs to be shut down and I want my money back absolutely shocked
Staff, room, facility Everything cleanliness Staff attitude
No lift and the room was on the top floor, also not a spacious room
