Staff allowed an early check in that helped us out of a situation. Then it all went downhill. I paid £168 for one night. The "crossed out price" on booking.com was over £700 per night. Let me tell you I've stayed not only all over the world, but in many places of all grades all over London. This was a rip off at £168. Granted the room was cleanish, but I have given all negative scores as they completely messed up my payment and multiple charged me. I didn't find out until the next day when I contacted my bank. When I tried to sort out what had happened I was told it was a mistake but couldn't be rectified until the following week!!!! The staff were not helpful, and I wish I could have gotten hold of the manager. Total disgrace. I would never recommend this hotel, I'd rather stay in the gutter. There are umpteen hotels nearby that are so much better and superior value for money. Take note of this review - it is an honest reflection of the room vs cost, and be aware of handing your card over, I am sure this was an attempted scam hoping I wouldn't notice. I would never recommend purely on their attempted scam and v poor customer service. As for the description, don't be drawn in - there was certainly nothing luxury about this room.

the decor, color, cleanliness, friendlt staff noise, room was located in ground floor near the main entrance i here the voice of the people, loud foot steps, in can here the voice and the phone calls of the receptionist as well as his conversations with anyone. i would say i did not feel i had privacy because i felt my movement will be felt by others. i also could here the steps of people coming down from the staris as well as water running from the upper rooms.

Room was very comfortable and stylish, quality bar snacks, linen was clean and crisp, fantastic shower! location is great. A staff member showing a guest to their room next door to mine, which is fine but it was very late at night ( somewhere between midnight and 2 am I think) and they were talking loudly outside my door waking me up - totally unnecessary.

Very spacious room and a great bed. Decor hit the right balance between comfortable and modern with excellent mood lighting The WiFi connection was poor and intermittent which was my only complaint (but really needs sorting for business travelers!) hence I have marked the facilities as 'Good' and not excellent. Similarly the staff were pleasant but not brilliant and could have been more charming to deserve an 'Excellent' status

The room was quiet. We were move to another hotel of the chain, although close by. It was supposed to be an upgrade, but the room was much smaller than what we booked through your website. Instead of 28 m2 it was maximum 15 m2. I did not appreciate that.

I was well received by the courteous staff at Shaftesbury suite who attended to me promptly and informed me that I had been upgraded to the five star The Marble Arch. that a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the stay and the proximity to Oxford street and Edgware road. had one of my best stays in London.

Room style Had to change 3 times the room till I got one and a clean one. Had to register first at Nbr before I had entered at 41 as indicated in the confirmation then had to cross the street, got a room with a sofa bed, which was occupied by somebody else ! And finally got a decent room after complaining at the reception. For a 180 eur, not bad ! I love Britain....

Location. Nice bathroom At check-in I was informed that I was being moved to another hotel. When I reluctantly went to the other hotel, I checked in and then was sent to another hotel. It doesn't matter how you dress it up as an upgrade, this is not a satisfactory way to treat people. It is confusing, disorientating and makes the guest worried that they are being treated like cattle. It immediately put me off booking with you again. The room (209) was a bit strange. The bed area looked a bit like a prison cell, you sit on the bed to use the desk. Nice bathroom, but nowhere to hang your clothes, not even a coathanger on a hook. I was encouraged to leave my bag at reception to be delivered to my room. But 20 minutes later it stll had not arrived. I went down to reception and got it myself as I wanted to go out. So because of all the delays checking in and with my bag, I wasted 45 minutes and was late meeting people. But my main gripe is turning up at one place and being told I'm being moved (not asked if I want to to be moved) . It's not a nice way to treat a guest!
