“ Excellent quite location, just a couple of minutes walk from Paddington Railway Station. The duty manager upgraded me to a club room without any extra charge which was a pleasant surprise. On request, I was given a fresh new bathrobe & bathroom slippers. The only pub across the road was lovely. ”

They replaced the sagging chair when I asked. Sagging mattress, desk staff with poor English, bathroom mold, bathroom space dreadfully unusable, had to request a new chair it was so sagging.. Had to call three times to get someone who could explain the a/c and heat to me

Extremely clean, quiet, great location, walking distance from Paddington station (with a direct route to the airport). Close to the park, several pubs and other late night places to eat. Taxis frequent the road out front. Room and bathroom were tiny. No place other than the bed to use a laptop.

The manager, Aparna, was very helpfull on arrival. The reception allocated the rooms quickly as we were late for a meeting. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent,in a number of hotels they are not.

Staffs were friendly and helpful at the hotel in Earl's Court but not in Sussex Garden. Problem with reservation system so they did not have place for me. When I called back as requested, no one picked up the phone. It wasn't just once. No Internet connect in room as advertised. Toilet wasn't proper cleaned as flushed. Things were left as I had left the room -> did you actually make up my room as you should have??? Only plus point was the friendliness of some staffs.

The hotel they moved us to was fantastic, it's just a pity it was so far from where we needed to be. I'll know which hotel to book next time, and which to avoid. Being moved to the far side of the city was very inconvenient. Like many others who posted reviews here we were given an excuse which was clearly a lie, even the cab driver said it was a regular thing. They really should stop overbooking and messing people around like this.

Few hours before my flight to London, the Shaftesbury Metropolis called me, saying that there was some "unforseen" maintenance work taking place and that I could not check in to my pre-booked room. So they offered me an Option to check-in at the "Executive Rooms By Shaftesbury * * * *", a "premier 4-star deluxe accommodation" without extra costs (they would even had paid the cab Transfer). Fair enough, I thought great deal! "Premier 4-star deluxe accomodation" sounds tempting, so I agreed to their offer. A few hours later and while driving to the new Location, I had a nice Chat with the cab Driver where I told him my "Story" about moving from one Hotel to another. I got a bit worried when he told me that this is a common practice in London, since it was the Weekend during the London Marathon 2013. Since the Hotel could ask for higher Prices during this very Weekend, they probably decided to move early-bookers -such as me- to cheaper Locations to re-sell their rooms for People who would pay the higher Prices on that Weekend. Arriving at the "Premier 4-star deluxe accomodation", this hotel turned out to be everything else than a « 4-star deluxe » accomodation. The first room they offered me barely had the size of a single bed, did not have any internet access, no mini-bar, no safe and –worst part- it smelled like sewer from the toilet ! I have asked the hotel attendant to move me into another room, but he replied to me that they are completly booked out. He will get some air refreshener to get rid of the smell. When the boy came back with his air refreshener spray, he told me that there were some other rooms available which I could check out. Thank goodness because my clothes would have smelled like toilet if I would have stayed there for one night.

Decor in room was nice, an effort had been made. Shower was good. Bed was comfy. Staff were mostly friendly. Rate was reasonable on booking.com. Arrived at hotel and was moved to their sister hotel the London Premier for some reason, which made me late that evening. Free taxi provided though and they offered free breakfast to make up for it. Room was exceptionally small; this is often the case in London but for a Superiore Double I would expect more space - if i had been with someone rather than on my own it would have been too small for us.

The hotel was very nice ,really clean, good location. The staff were very miserable and unhelpful ,we moved to a lower star hotel three doors down ,which wasn't the same standard as the Shaftsbury ,but the staff were awesome with free parking Although there were parking spaces outside the hotel ,which remained unused ,we were not allowed to use them .poor.

We like the price. Too far away from city, no bar, room was not ready when we arrived and after a long journey all we wanted to do was drop our bags and relax. Manager was very bossy and wouldn't let us get a word in edge ways, not impressed with her attitude at all.

It was fairly well located near to Paddington Station. The room space was tiny, the bathroom wasn't clean with lots of black mold. There was no wi-fi in the room, even though it was advertised by the hotel. The staff were quite rude and argumentative. It is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and certainly not worthy of a four star rating!
