The hotel was in a perfect location and I enjoyed the views from the windows, particularly Big Ben. The staff were very helpful and the room very nice. I booked a room for 3 adults and was dissapointed that I was given a double room with a sofa bed for the 3rd bed, there was very little room to move around.

The location is the best factor about this hotel. a few minutes walk to Piccadilly Circus, right beside Soho and Chinatown. I did not like being asked to pay the bill on check in . This has never happened to me at any other hotel. The bar is closed in the daytime and there is no restaurant for dinner.

The location is ideal and within walking distance for everything we wanted to see, Buckingham Palace London Eye, Covent Garden, St Pauls, China Town and shoping The room was too small with slooping ceiling, I am only 5ft 2 ins but could not stand up at side of bed because of the slope, the wardrobe doors could not fully open because no room, this made it difficult to use the safe.

I just loved the location - for theatre district and for shopping, you cannot get much better I have never thought that one can sleep in a room of a size of a shoe box (and I can proudly call myself THE shoe-addict) - the room was so small that one have to close the suitcase (cabin size) to be able to leave the room (sounds fun for one night, not funny for longer stay)

Clean bathroom. It does not worth the money I paid for, the room is extremely small, and it is far away of being a 4 stars hotel as it is rated.

Location - for New Years Eve. Best Western attempted to move us to a different hotel the evening before - the message left on my mobile was not understandable (including the number to phone back on) ! The location was not suitable - at Liverpool Street despite being a 5star hotel. Thankyou to Booking.com (Hayley) who helped us to rebook in the same Hotel !!! Room also did not have air conditioining so had to keep window open above Shaftesbury Avenue - so not a lot of sleep. But main issue was dreadful communication of hotel change that didnt involve Booking.com

We were very pleased with this lovely, almost-hidden gem of a hotel in the heart of the theater district and a block away from Soho. The staff was very helpful. The room was compact but clean and most important: the bed was very comfortable. The cost was reasonable - for London. Make sure you try the terrific Italian restaurant next door. One word of caution: if you want theater tickets, get them yourself at the box office. The hotel obtains them through an agency and the additional fee adds almost 50%.

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to Regents Street/Carnaby Street and a stones throw away from the Theatre district and Covent Garden. This is our first visit to the Shaftesbury Piccadilly and only selected it because our usual hotel was sold out. However, this location and the friendly staff will make me consider this again on future visits. The only down side was the small room. This wasn't the end of the world as we only stayed one night - I suspect if I was staying longer then this would be annoying.

Perfect location for shopping and shows. Very busy area which makes it both exciting and a little tedious fighting the crowds. Then again, that's London!. Small but perfectly comfortable room with tiny bathroom which was kept very clean. Breakfast was the only disappointment- selection was fine but overall quality was poor (12gbp pp when prepaid the day before). Dining room was canteen-like but the staff were all friendly and helpful. We decided not to have breakfast after our first morning. Private car transfer to Heathrow for 37gbp was very good value- comfortable, efficient and friendly driver- made our airport transfer painless (especially compared with using the Picadilly line underground when we arrived- 10gbp for 2 people). Overall, we enjoyed staying in this hotel.

It is a very convenient location for restaurants, theatre and shopping. From our window we could see one the lantern lit street of Chinatown. It was only 10 minutes walk from Leicester Square. Rooms at the front of the hotel are a little noisy but that is only to be expected from a city hotel situated on an busy main street.

Very welcoming reception staff, hotel in ideal location and from previous stays in London was excellent value for the quality of room and location. Being on a main road there was little to no noise pollution from the traffic outside.

The location and a very comfy bed. The shower was extremely small. The bar was a waste of time, only open from 7pm to 9pm,totally disinterested bar staff, always empty, not suprised. When checked in they wanted £120 cash as deposit for "extras",got them down to £80 after saying I would come back each morning for £20 back.Who goes away on holiday with £120 extra cash for them to "mind" !!!!.

I liked the attention provided by staff from the moment I arrived until I left. The room was clean and aired and was near the lift. This was most helpful as my husband has mobility problems. The whole place had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere no matter what time of day. My husband is left-handed and had difficulty holding the cups at breakfast. They were very modern design and shaped for right-handed people. I pointed this out and advised that my daughter had this design at home and had bought both left and right handed cups. Staff took the point in good humour and promised to provide my husband with one on our next visit. Thanks to them all.

Good location. Very close to Soho. We have to pay in cash when we check in because the hotel tell us they do not accept credit card. That's very inconvenient. Elevator is very small and out of work sometime. We have to use stair to walk to 5th floor.

Didnt like much apart from the location, very close to all the shows, and to lots of restaurants. The hotel was definately not good value for money. Wouldnt stay there again, only 1 lift for the entire hotel which took forever to use. The hotel staff were hard to understand and didnt pass on messages. No parking outdide the hotel so it was extremely hard for a taxi to pick up. We felt it was a bit run down for the money.

Mainly it was the location. The beds were comfortable but the size of the room was too small. The size of the room was too small and the chair in room 124 was ready to break. Feel the hotel needs renovated.

Beautiful huge room (we were in the triple suite) massive king bed, shame the third bed was a pull out bed, wasn't really fair on third person! Amazing bathroom with a tv in it. The location was perfect for theatre and shopping but it is very noisy at night
