Staff were friendly, and helpfully! Room was clean! And a great breakfast.easy access to town on frequent buses, food was really good
Not a lot really just a bit of a problem with the plumbing which h a happens even at home.
Near to the lake and park
Grubby room, loud outside, not great value for money
Poor state of cleanliness. Noise of traffic. Lack of interest among staff. Room not serviced because of only one key. We had the only key there was not one at hotel for staff to use!
The friendliness of the staff made the stay more enjoyable.
Helpful friendly staff. Room and bathroom good size, linen and towels extremely good and hospitality tray/water very good.
Pillow hard, beds hard, food overcooked and sometimes cold. Noise from road traffic awful.
The accommodation was excellent, nice and clean and well kept and great value for money. The staff were good and helpful and the food very good. Will definitely stay again when doing this annual trip.
Location very noisy. Couldn't sleep at night. Window rusty. No soap/shampoo. Kettle dirty. Room overall dirty. Kids sofabed not made. No linens. Wifi not working and staff couldn't be bothered to sort it out. Breakfast very poor and crockery very dirty. Waitress cleaning as well as serving breakfast leaving detergents next to juices! Overall very poor and will never stay there. Paid nearly £80 for the night but worth perhaps £20! Please avoid esp if you have kids.
Staff were polite
Un clean room and bathroom especialy
Good location for ferry.
Cleanliness. Food quality.
Free internet wifi does not work Cooler out of action so no draft beer available room basic decor ..run down...could see daylight through cracks in wooden door sink dirty holes in walls of room broken electrical devices in room toilet wouldn't flush properly bed squeaks Ensuite bathroom had a blind on the window which didn't work. Reception on some tv channels bad carpet in room filthy Shower screen filthy plates & cups filthy at breakfast staff spraying polish & disinfectant whilst eating breakfast
One of our rooms wasn't cleaned and the reason given didn't make sense. We asked for a packed lunch instead of breakfast, but had to pick it up the night before, so it wasn't kept in the fridge.
We had read the reviews about noise ... Of course there is noise it's on a main road but for the location , price and the amazing food it cannot be beaten. Staff are really welcoming and friendly , would definitely go back
Staff friendly, food brilliant, the room was fine as a base to go out for the day.
Very close to busy main road, as we were not used to this we found the traffic noise a bit loud at night.
We arrived at about 21.30 on Monday eve, the staff were very friendly, helped us to find a postcode and supplied us with a packed lunch as we were leaving at 5 the next morning. The room was very nice and clean. We will recommend the Shah of Persia to others and if we are down this way we will stay again.
The food was brilliant .The staff were very friendly.
the carpet in room 5 needed cleaning .The road was very noisy.
Good food, nice room
Two bulbs not working so room dim
Old-style pub brought up-to-date. comfortable room. Wonderful food in the restaurant, both breakfast and dinner, and very inexpensive. Manager friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Although on a main road we did not find the traffic noise disturbing. Excellent value for money.
Rather grumpy waitress. The bathroom floor covering was buckled by the door.
being a short drive to ferry port
noisy nights sleep untidy room left early to catch ferry although no breakfast as we left before 7:30 am was promised a packed lunch .. which never showed up !! on leaving the only exit was a fire exit emergency door as all other exits were locked. no where to leave room key no sign of night porter or any other form of life !!! refund would be gratefully accepted
The location is OK
Having finally unstuck myself from the floor in this hideous "inn", I feel the need to unburden myself. I had been warned by family members to keep my expectations low, talk about an understatement. Shabby. Rude staff who looked like they needed a good wash (and less of the disgusting hotel food - see below). Like walking into a bad 1970s sitcom. I can honestly say this is the only hotel stay I have ever had were I could not eat the breakfast - filthy glasses, a plate of congealed grease featuring a (many times-) refried sausage and a cold fried egg amongst other items. If anybody suggests you should stay here, splash out on somewhere decent instead.
Friendly staff, good value, nice food, nice room
Traffic bit noisy
* Room décor was very nice * Drinks were good and the main bar was well stocked.
* Cooked breakfast tasted bland. * Asked for a quiet room, but it was noisy due to traffic. I only got about 1-2 hours sleep. * Creaky spring bed. * Creaky bathroom door (needs oiling).
Staff were pleasant Beds were comfortable Situation was convenient to Poole centre
Cobwebs in corners and on light fittings Decoration was tired and scruffy in places Breakfast cups were old and stained
Ability to get about by bus and near to where we needed to be to collect our camper van. Good bar staff on arrival and able to recommend alternatives.
Tired and grubby hotel room in need of injection. Room overlooked a major crossroads and old windows wouldn't shut relying only on secondary double glazing to keep out the noise of traffic accelerating from the traffic lights.
Nice staff. Reasonable food.
Very noisy window onto street and noisy part of Poole. Although we were promised a picnic, we had to leave early, had to climb over a gate to get out and picnic/staff nowhere to be found! Nobody mentioned side door code etc.
Food good and great value for money and the staff so friendly and help definitely staying again
Could not fault it
