Score from 234 reviews Superb
Large comfy room, pub with good and reasonably priced food, smashing staff and because we had to leave too early for breakfast, a great picnic lunch.
Nothing to complain about. Possibly it would be nice to have a larger bed and the carpet was warn, but for that price, who's complaining.
The staff were brilliant food was good beds were comfortable and very clean, as was the accommodation. Decour was a little dated and the pub is on a main crossrods. But at £30 per night for a double and 2 for one on meals and 20% off food for residents whose complaining
The food was fantastic and I enjoyed my stay and will stay again.
Car parking, walking distance from the town centre. good price.
The room was not like on the web site, we were given a poor room to start, asked for a change and got it. mold in the shower. really needs a refurbishment, like a poor traval lodge.
Good price, clean, and a large family room
Bar was understaffed. The food was ok but was clearly driven by price. Could do with a lick of paint
Location is good, as its a pub you don't have far to go to get food & drink!
Bed was noisy and uncomfortable, room suffered from damp and outside noise as above restaurant kitchen, one resident spent four hours that night attempting to break in the rear entrance! Maybe a new control would assist, as any noise goes through the place very easily. Other than that not bad, glad i got it for such a low price (£30 per night) wouldn't of been happy with it if it had been over 40 per night!
Food ok but nothing special and 2 4 1 deal a bit of a con as meals are double the average price!
The meal deal with drinks and 20% off. Staff are very polite and friendly. Rooms clean and fresh.
Excellent staff, accommodating and friendly. For £30 for the night INCLUDING breakfast, you really can't complain!! Have stayed here before and last in always gets rooms above refrigeration unit( or whatever it is).Overall you have to say £30 was a snip compared to some at more than double the price.
Room EXTREMELY hot and refrigeration Unit pretty loud when windows opened.
Quality of food and service were both good
Cleanliness and condition of bathroom was bad - could do with an overhaul/updating
Breakfast not early enough for working guests
Toilet seat was loose ,spores in the shower, restaurant was not ready to serve breakfast at 7 30am.
Very comfortable bed.decent shower.good wifi.plenty of parking.
Being told we couldn't use the pub new years eve as it was a private party. Turned out it wasn't and we were welcome to attend. The breakfast room had not been cleaned when we went down in the morning.
food was very good staff was very friendly would book again
Everything. We had a special offer which made our stay amazing value for money. A lovely evening meal 2 for 1 - 20%. A full English breakfast in the price. Very helpful and freindly staff. 10 out of 10
The window to the room was very decayed with a large hole in the casement. A flat roof outside left you feeling the room was not very secure. The double glazing could not be locked. Not the fault of the staff.
Accomodation was very good, bar service good, and the food was excellent
Sunday morning breakfast food was good, but service was found to be lacking.
On the booking form it stated that breakfast was served until 9.30. when we came down at 9.05 we were told that we were too late
Easy to book
The wi-fi wasn't very good
Room was fab, food was great and the staff especially Danielle who worked in the restaurant was superb..
Staff were excellent and very helpful especially Mary. Handy having pub facilities especially food. Bed comfy with nice clean white sheets. Bathroom clean. Has a cosy feel.
Noisy room 9 above kitchen, sounded like being on a ferry, so had to close windows in the evening. Could do with a 'mind the step' sign on one of the fire doors, I fell down it on the first morning and jarred my back.
FOOD ROOMS STAFF LOCATION FOR TOWN SHORT WALK .GOOD ATMOSPHERE FRIENDLY INFORMATIVE. CONVIVIAL.SECURE.TRADITIONAL
CANT THINK OF ANYTHING.
The warm welcome from the staff
Staff all friendly and helpful , food good value for money
Very old needs a refurb . Carpet in room grubby , gale blowing through closed window. Room was nothing like photos on wed site / booking site
We liked the convienance of having the bar downstairs and close to the harbour for the next day. Good entertainment (Soul Singer)
The food was awful during the evening. The Steak was rubbery, Ribs were microwaved, didn't look very nice. During breakfast (which was actually nice), we waited 20 minutes for our tea and coffee, but saying that, bless her, the woman serving us was doing everything else around the venue from cleaning, to bedrooms, so she totally forgot. My main light didn't work, then found out I had to press harder and jiggle on the light panel to get it working, Toilet seat was loosely fitted. Shower didn't fully turn off. My friend in the other room had a broken bed. We were kicked out/checked out by 10:30, even though our booking indicated 11:00am check out time. Saw another couple also wondering why this has happened? - we asked about it and were told that it was actually a 10:30 check out and booking.com didn't change this?.. and I rammed my car into a black post when I arrived at 8pm, which was poorly visible, and the only indication it was there was a inch white line at the top of the post. Photos taken and now I may have to claim on insurance to repair the damage to both doors and wheel arches.. Surprising how much damage can occur doing 5 mph
