Breakfast was excellant freshly cooked and plenty

rooms need makeover only one grubby chair to sit on in bedroom.Tiles in bathroom with mildew on small TV

Hot breakfast was well cooked nicely presented and very tasty. Good coffee. Really nice building

Breakfast cold selection very poor. Room v small and needs updating dreadflul signs on the unmanned (you have to telphone to get someone to attand) reception telling you all the odd house rules. - very unwelcoming. You are charged an additional 5% if you use acredit card. It feels like a business in dire straits.

Its location for the town was good and that was about it

Dirty under staffed and old and falling down. No hot water both in the evening or in the morning, food was cold and overall i would never stay here again or tell anyone else to

Run down old hotel but clean with friendly staff. Got a good room rate which included breakfast, food was basic but very nice.

Breakfast was fabulous. Poached eggs the best I have had for a long time at any price.

The smoke alarm in my room telling me it needed a new battery with a loud chirup every 20 minutes all through the night. The phone call from the receptionist at 9 pm to ask if I was coming as she wanted to go home. I had previously checked that the reception stayed open until 10 pm as the notice on the desk proudly proclaimed when I arrived at 9:30.

Bed sheets were wet.. Switching on kettle tripped electricity out so no coffee. The general crappy state of the place.

My room was modern and very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, ignore other bad reviews as this is a very nice hotel to stay at and I stay in hotels every day of the week. Will be staying here next time I am in Bedford

Very friendly staff made sure my motorcycle had secure parking. Warm atmosphere

Room had cracked or missing tiles in bathroom also had to repair toilet seat as lid was not secure. Whole bathroom could do with revamp. Water was luke warm

I had the pleasure of staying at the Shakespeare hotel and in my eyes 5 star all the way! The bar staff were super friendly, reception and even the owner! I thank you all for making my stay an unforgettable experience!

Convenient place to stay, staff very friendly and helpful

Just one biscuit when you arrived on the tea tray! and the tea bags didn't make a good tasting cup of tea. Good quality food not used for the breakfast.

Close to family & friends as we live in france.

Trafic outside.

Friendly and attentive staff. Good, honest small hotel that fitted the bill.

Stayed 2 nights. The room for the first night was noisy - from adjacent room. I was moved to a second (better) room without any quibble.

It's location was close to where I needed to visit.

There was a horrible smell from the shower tray when the stopper was taken out of the water outlet. This seems to be a plumbing problem, and should be capable of being resolved as it was at the top of the house.

I found the welcome so warm,and so easy to settle in,the breakfast was one of the best I have had in Hotel's i've ever stayed at in the uk,and also from Hotel's double the price,The room was very clean, I would stay nowhere else if I ever need to stay in Bedford again. Please past on my thanks to the management.

Limited menu and the cheff committed the cardinal sin, sent out a plate of food that was burnt to the point of it being inedible A notice in reception forbidding the consumption of any food on the premises unless bought there was not very welcoming. This is especially galling when the food available is quite limited

Friendly and helpful. Accommodating regrding parking outside of check in/check out times. Breakfast quite good.

Insufficient over-night parking. Decor very much in need of updating. Service staff seemed under-experienced and over-stretched. Definite need for further training. Breakfast service poorly co-ordinated.

bathroom has wood flooring. very slippy. had 2 be very careful as nearly slipped over a few times .at my age of 72. not ideal flooring
