If we could have found another hotel with vacancies we would have checked out without staying. There was nothing good about this hotel. When we we thrown the key across the reception desk and told I'll leave you to it, this set the scene for our stay. Obviously the cleaner also thought they'd leave the cleaning to the guests aklso. We were unable to shower as it was dirty and mouldy. The bed linene was clean but the bed was uncomfortable.

Staff were very freindly and very helpfull , Food was very good, a bit over priced , Breakfast was very good and very large, overall a good Budget Hotel Only one thing I didnt like was the stairs to the rooms , because I was traveling with my 94yr old Mother. I wish they had a lift or a downstairs room. But she managed the stairs very slowly and was fine.

Convient location for walking into town. Quiet hotel The breakfast finished at 8:30 to early I thought. Not a lot of parking space & nowhere nearby to park on the road.

Good value, excellent poached eggs, warm room, hot water, clean, bed was a bit spongy for my liking, but comfy enough for the 1 night I stayed. It is what it is. Good value accommodation..

Friendly atmosphere, fair prices, pleasant ambiance. Decoration of room tired and in need of tlc. Tv did not work - possibly not re tuned to digital. No heating. Wedding on Saturday night meant could not use car - blocked into car park - previous warning would have been useful. No table for breakfast on Sunday - Staff overstretched dealing with number of guests. Noisy pigeons in roof over my room.

Probably just the dining experience and friendly staff were the only positive comments on our stay. Sitting in the back garden was very nice. The mattress was uncomfortable, could feel the springs. I had to use pillows to sleep on top of to be able to sleep. Wifi did not work in the outside room. The cigarette butts strewn all around the place was disgusting.

The architecture is most fitting of a truly British hotel. The interior at the entrance is welcoming and comfortable, like an old stately home. The single rooms are okay but a little "pokey"... Sunday night - no meal offered and difficult to find anywhere open nearby for a meal. The outside access door was locked during the afternoon which I wasn't warned about when I left my key at the front desk!!

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was warm and clean and the beds were comfortable. There was no hot water to the sink in the bathroom. On 'maximum' setting the water was barely tepid, however, when mentioned to the staff they said other guests had also mentioned this and a plumber had been arranged.

The hotel was attractive on the eye, staff very welcoming, nice calm warm feel to the place, loved the decor. Would not hesitate to recommend to family and friend, and will come stay again... We stayed to eat at the hotel as only staying one night, food was very good, although my partner really wanted steak... And they didnt have any, but I have to say his second option did go down very well. The only things I think could be improved are: we had to wait quite a while for our food to come..... And the sausages at breakfast !!! the rest of the meal was excellent.. But please decent sausages.... : )

Booking out It was very very run down. It should be advertised as a workmans weekly bed stop whilst working in the area. A gastro hotel with no dinner guests even with a full hotel. Stay there and you will see why. My room was in the yard along with the rubbish.
